this is the current list of held items used on calamity and a guide on their effects in our predominantly freeform environment. this list is subject to change and slight modification.
some items from this list are evolution items which can be purchased from the site shop but they can't be used in battle, only for evolution since they are used immediately.
not every item will be available in the shop. some will come in as prizes or will be gradually added.
for example, if our current pokémon gains two levels in battle, one will go to the holder and the remaining level will go to the current pokémon. if our current pokémon gains four levels in battle, one will go to the holder and the remaining three will go to the current pokémon.
this item breaks after five threads. each time it's used in a thread, it must be added as a note in the 'update me' when the thread is claimed to help staff keep track.

expert belt | a well-worn belt that boosts the power of super-effective moves. | |
focus band | the holder may endure a potential KO attack and be left with 1hp. the chance of this happening is one in five and can only be used once per thread. | |
grip claw | extends the duration of multi-turn moves like bind and wrap to a full five turns. | |
hard stone | it boosts the power of rock type moves | |
heat rock | extends the duration of sunny day so it lasts a full five turns. | |
icy rock | extends the duration of hail so it lasts a full five turns. | |
iron ball | at the expense of one dodge, ground type moves can hit flying types and levitating opponents. | |
lax incense | the holder's evasion is increased and gains one dodge. | |
leftovers | at the end of each turn, the holder recovers a little hp. | |
light clay | certain protective moves (like reflect and light screen) have their duration boosted to a full five turns. | |
magnet | it boosts the power of electric type moves. | |
metal coat | it boosts the power of steel type moves. | |
miracle seed | it boosts the power of grass type moves. | |
mystic water | it boosts the power of water type moves. | |
never-melt ice | it boosts the power of ice type moves. | |
poison barb | it boosts the power of poison type moves. | |
quick claw | the holder gains one extra dodge. | |
rocky helmet | if the holder receives a physical attack, the user will receive some damage on contact. | |
safety goggles | these goggles protect the wearer from weather-related damage. | |
sharp beak | it boosts the power of flying type moves. | |
shed shell | allows the holder to switch out of battle without fail. | |
shell bell | the holder recovers a little hp each time they inflict damage. | |
silk scarf | it boosts the power of normal type moves. | |
smooth rock | it extends the duration of the move sandstorm to a full five turns. | |
soft sand | it boosts the power of ground type moves. | |
spell tag | it boosts the power of ghost type moves. | |
twisted spoon | it boosts the power of psychic type moves. | |
wide lens | the holder gains one dodge. | |

the holder of this item will gain a level from the amount won by the pokémon that's currently being used in battle. if the current pokémon only gains one level (due to the current pokémon being over four levels higher than its opponent) it can either go to it or the holder. the maximum amount that the holder can gain will always be one and it will be subtracted from the amount of levels won by the current pokémon. for example, if our current pokémon gains two levels in battle, one will go to the holder and the remaining level will go to the current pokémon. if our current pokémon gains four levels in battle, one will go to the holder and the remaining three will go to the current pokémon.

when the holder is used in battle, the claimable bonus pd (2 or 4 depending on a loss or win) is tripled. this only applies to npc battles and battles with other trainers. this item breaks after five threads. each time it's used in a thread, it must be added as a note in the 'update me' when the thread is claimed to help staff keep track.
