Finally. After a time that could have possibly been estimated at around several weeks - she had arrived. She appeared a touch tired and roughened up here and there, but her face revealed her excitement. With a pleased grin, the coordinator approached the ranger manning the cave entrance, immensely satisfied that she had arrived in a timely manner. To think, she would be venturing into a cave renown for its bounty. A rare Pokemon or fossil likely resided within - a treasure worthy to claim for her own.
"'mm ready ta go whenever," she said.
Before she had arrived, Andrea had tended to her Pokemon's needs. And her own as well. They had a large breakfast and a good rest the previous night. After tucking away her preferred six Pokemon that would accompany her, the girl had hurried out of her hotel - unable to contain her need to attend the expedition. She didn't want to be late or nothin'. She had real bad luck when it came to that sort of shit.
"Guess I gotta wait fer the others," she muttered, her voice reflecting her impatience. "'course I'd be the first one to show up."
Whatever. They'd be here or they'd be left behind. It would leave more for her at the end of the day, so she merely lounged about until then.
Walking with his hands in his pant's pockets, he took in a huge intake of fresh sea air. He was never one for water, if he were to be completely honest he hated it. However, there was still something sickeningly refreshing about the idea of walking along the coast, combing for small sea shells as he walked along. After the festival in Petalburg, he was excited to explore the costal caves.
Sam came to a stop when he reached the tour guide, leaning up against an adjacent object nearby. They were in groups, and apparently there was already someone waiting. It made him wonder if they skipped town and just went straight into the route, but the more logical side of him said otherwise. After all, there was plenty of time before things started.
"Don't worry about me. I've never been the one to stick their hands outside the ride." He chuckled, it was a lame joke but it symbolized he was ready. A small whine came from his shoulder, and his eyes darted to the tiny snail-like creature eying the surrounding areas as if unsure of what to make of this whole ordeal. Monarch seemed to absolutely hate his pokeball, and while Sam preferred that his pokemon didn't wander outside for their own safety and his, this one seemed to be going through its rebellious stage. Maybe that's why it ran away from home.
Dropping out of his thoughts, he gave a bit of a hum and a tap of his foot. He was a patient person, unlike the sewaddle sitting on his shoulder, but he hoped they wouldn't have to move on without the rest of the group. It'd end up being on his conscience for the rest of the trip.

Julius was actually pretty interested in the exploration and he was busy wondering mildly if he would meet Cass again here as he let his footsteps hammer against the cave, the noise echoing in the damp passage. His rotom had lot his way here and was still doing a fine job of acting as a light source by floating about a foot in front of Julius. As always a trail of smoke followed him, an the only difference now was that he had a new pair of lasses on- still as hipster as ever.
When he entered the clearing he had managed to catch in to the last part of the guide’a greeting. "Terry?!" he asked, suddenly announcing hi presence if the rotom and the boots were not enough. Thankfully when he saw te ranger’s face he realized it wasn't the Terry he was used to seeing. A different Terry, then. That made sense. There were obviously more than one Terry in the ranger base.
He forced the shock out of his face and turned it into a smile instead. "Sorry, I mistook you for a different ranger. Ah, pleasure to meet you, then."
Talk about awkward.
The glasses wearing male tuned to look at his group members, surprised he knew both of them.
"Andrea!" He said, smiling at her. He then nodded at the younger male. "Sam," he acknowledged. And then he looked around, wondering if that was all or if it was time to go already. The sooner the better. Julius was eager.
awkward greetings aside one member was still missing. no worries, they could catch up later. terry gestures for the group to move on.
the cave is cool and dank. they stop at the split path. both look equally daring, dim lights lining the sides of the cave. but the right is labelled 'B' while the left is labelled 'S'. terry has no idea what that means. he turns towards the people for a group vote.
They will not force us They will stop degrading us They will not control us
We will be victorious
"Holy shit, Julius!"
It made for a pleasant surprise, and Andrea couldn't stop a smile from slipping onto her face. She had awarded the male, Sam, a small nod of greeting. The woman would've invested more toward their initial encounter, but she was too distracted by her friend to grant the stranger anymore than that.
"Sweet, this shit just got way better."
Awarding Julius a friendly slap to the shoulder, the coordinator released a giddy chuckle as she realized they would be heading into the cave. She offered both Sam and Julius a wolfish grin before hurrying to follow the ranger inside. It was dark. Andrea quickly realized this fact as her gaze wandered and her eyes struggled to adjust to the darkness. There was also a notable nip in the air, one that caused her to shiver for a brief moment.
"Should've brought a jacket," she hissed.
Once they encountered the two way, Andrea looked to her companions with a bewildered expression before she made her vote.
"B fer badass and S is fer sissy. Imma go with B."

If there is one thing that she hated, it was unpunctuality. But with a rowdy Murkrow and Munchlax in tow, things were bound to get hairy. Castiel couldn't help but still wear a little of her discomfort at the memory of her Munchlax practically downing enough poke-food for six pokemon and then falling asleep in his ball while her Murkrow turned her tail up at her and went inside her own ball. Nonetheless, the two Pokemon were quiet for now and she was left only with her thoughts. An exploration. It took her a while to get here but hopefully it would be more than worth it. If not, she'd probably have her Munchlax eat the guide while her Murkrow hid the evidence. The thought brought a tiny smile to the woman's face and she could hear voices echoing off of the cave's walls.
Two familiar, two unfamiliar. But sounds could be anything and she wasn't one to trust people. Walking inside and observing the cave's walls and features, it was rather dark in the cave but her eyes adjusted somewhat to see the silhouette of things. Living in the dark could be useful at times. A familiar voice touched her ears and she raised an eyebrow. A gruff tone, somewhat of an accent, and such confidence in the tone. Couldn't be anyone but Andrea. And another that reminded her of a nice little encounter and awkward memories. Julius.
Approaching quietly, she slipped her arms out of her jacket and placed it neatly on the smaller woman's shoulders.
"You should always be prepared for such situations."
She turned to look towards Julius and offered him a small smile. It wasn't that bad being around Andrea, although it made for funny anecdotes and horrific expressions. "Its good to see you again, Julius." Her attention turned to the other male standing inbetween them, he didn't seem very harmful but she offered him a curt nod. "Castiel. I apologize for being late." Bowing her head in a slight show of apology, she noticed the guide finally and smirked a little glancing down at Andrea.
Sam gave a small muffled snicker, but otherwise gave no more notice to the awkward introduction that Julius came to the group with. He gave a curt nod when acknowledge, responding with a short "Julius." as he did so. At least he knew one person here, that was a start, even if their initial meetup hadn't been less than awkward.
While their own meeting had been short, the female of the group became excited over Julius' appearance. Sam gave a small smile, though it was hardly noticeable. It was a small world.
Then they were gestured into the cave, and he barely had time to react when the girl gave a giant wolfish grin and ran into the cave. He stood there, stunned for a few seconds before shaking his head and rushing into the cave himself only to quickly regret it. Being used to the volcanic temperature of magma's base, the sudden cold of the cave made him bite his tongue in order to fight back a hiss of discomfort. Instead, he brought his arms around himself. He wasn't wearing a sweater or jacket, just his long-sleeved black shirt, a pair of jeans and his water bottle. Granted he could just fish one out of his pack, but that'd take too long and he'd risk disturbing the egg (that was way more warm than he was). He figured it wouldn't take long to adjust anyways.
It wasn't long until they came to a stop; a fork in the road. The ranger guiding them didn't seem to understand them, so asked. He had to resist giving a sarcastic answer back, but thankfully that was an easy feat since others broke into conversation, and the voice of a forth person made him curse his observation skill for just happening to be so low- Castiel? Sam thought for a second, before giving a nod back.
"My name's Sam, no need to apologize.." He greeted, she sounded familiar, had the same name-- But that could be coincidence? Right? His eyebrow raised but he just leaned back slightly against the cave wall, facing the tour guide.
"How about S; for sissy." A wild grin overcame him, he just couldn't help it. He felt more comfortable than he should, and that usually resulted in him being less of a gentleman and more of a, well, witty idiot. Still, he shifted himself to another position when he noticed his Sweaddle make a whine of discomfort and crawl underneath his shirt to try and get away from the cold. Honestly, he didn't blame them.

Andrea gave him a slam on te shoulder which he grinned at, and he then proceeded to nod at her enthusiasm for getting this done. Julius stared at the passage ways and was about to open his mouth to say they should go down the B route when Andrea said it for him. It made him smile a little, although his hands were wrapped around his arms as the cave got colder, giving him a loner-esque look. He had, thankfully enough, dressed for the situation with a sweater and a large scarf. How hipster his wardrobe was made him appalled at times as well.
He then nodded to agree with Andrea, but heard the sound of footsteps which heralded the arrival of their final party member. His eyebrows went up at the tart arrival, but he found a small smile forming when he realized who it was. Castiel. There were a lot of strange and distant memories that went along with that face and name.
"Castiel!" He chirped, pleasantly surprised and somewhat happy to know that he knew everyone in his group. "Wouldn't have expected to see you here." He then blinked at her gesture of giving the jacket to Andrea, and her words of defiance as she chose S.
"You two know each other?" His attention was then diverted towards the guide who asked for a quicker procession of votes. That was when Sam, being the blissful little teen thing he was web with S as well. Julius gave the kid a sarcastic and annoyed smile- did he honestly have to put it that way?
That left him to decide. Logically, choosing B was stupid an would just cause chaos within the group. But more importantly, he knew both the girls and decided he’d prefer Andrea’s wrath to Castiel’s--- not like he expected either of them to get angry over him.
"S, then," he told the guide, his back to the rest of the group do he didn't have to gauge Andrea’s reaction
"left it is!" terry chirps, and leads them further down the cave. the rest of the group makes small chatter behind him. it isn't long before he hears noises. he looks back at the group anticipation.
"take out your pokemon." terry says before flipping out his stylus and pointing at the swarm of geodude rushing around the corner.

Julius is annoyed at the appearance f the Pokemon- wasn't this cave suppose to be safe to explore or something? He grunted and pulled out a pokeball, wondering if he should make a snide remark about how rangers should be able to handle this by themselves. The pokemon hardly looked like much of a threat. Whatever.
The light from the pokeball flashed and out came Zwei, his adorable little Pichu who looked at swarm of Pokemon with vivid and growing interest.
"Alright Zwei, hit then with a thunder shock, you know how it works!"
The pichu let out a swirl and began glowing bright yellow, illuminating the cave for an instant before lightning crashed down- one bolt on each of the two first geodudes.

"Fuckin' traitor," she muttered, casting Julius a mock-glare.
Eh, she'd get over it. Anyway, it appeared as though her future wife had arrived fashionably late. And she was just as beautiful as she had been during their last encounter - her features sharp, mane its usual length, and her curves just as prominent. Andrea's fingers twitched as she struggled not to touch such a majestic piece of - . The coordinator's thoughts were abruptly interrupted as Castiel wrapped her jacket around her thin shoulders. Andrea's face grew hot at the gesture, eyes heavy with affection as she cast the taller woman a small smile of genuine warmth.
"Aw, babe. Ya spoil me - Oh, shit! Rock guys!"
She forgot their actual names, but at the moment, that didn't really matter much.
"C'mon out, Jester!"
The Snivy appeared in a flash alongside Julius's Pichu.
"Vine whip! Twice!"
The Pokemon struck out with his vines, aiming toward whatever Geodude he could hit.
overgrow - - lv 08 - - healthy

It wasn't long after they switched routes that they were ordered to take out their pokemon and fight off the Geodude that were..... Having a conversation? Sam raised an eyebrow and gave a look towards their tour guide that read 'are you serious right now?' loud and clear. He groaned and twitched his fingers over his shoulder, a gesture to call the nesting Sewaddle out.
"Isn't it your job as an, oh I don't know, ranger to say... Monitor the tunnels?" He spat out rather rudely before he could stop himself. He was all for incompetent police officers, that made his job a million times easier, but for the love of Arceus. "Monarch use stringshot." He called out to the caterpiller, pulling out a pokeball while said pokemon was distracted. A white sikly string shot from the bug, and just as it did a click sounded and he returned the bug type. Monarch was not going to be happy about this, he hated his pokeball.
Upon reflex, Sam immediately pulled out another pokeball and tossed it in the air. Heat suddenly filled the cave as the candle sprouted out and danced around, followed by Sam trying to blink away the incoming exhaustion. "Your turn Wisp," he began as the pokemon appeared, "Use Ember!" As the attack was called out, Sam inwardly cringed, but fought it off and returned to the tour guide.
"For the record, I don't agree with attacking a wild pokemon minding its own business."

terry didn't appreciate the sassy comments made from the brown haired gentleman. so he politely ignored him as he pointed at the geodudes. two of them went down from the snivy's attacks. but the other two were still standing.
"almost there!"

An eerie child-like laughter filled the cave, but it was clear that the sound was coming right from the Litwick. She was amused, Geodude's normal type tackle simply flew right through her as if she wasn't even there. While it was discomforting to feel another entity inside her, she was otherwise unaffected by their attempts at an attack.
"Calm down Wisp, don't let it get to your head." Sam said sternly to his pokemon, cockyness was the thing you couldn't afford to be during a fight. If any of them had a ground or rock type attack, she'd be singing a different tune.
"Use Ember again, its your best bet in a situation like this." The order was called out, and the Litwick's fire grew brighter as another eerie laugh signaled. She was having too much fun, and glistening red embers flew out of her mouth with a blow towards the nearest geodude she could hit. As she did so, her body swayed from side to side in a counter motion to the fire on her wick.
"I said don't get cocky." The teen muttered, rolling his eyes at the female pokemon's antics.
