welcome to calamity! we are an au pokemon site based in hoenn. we do not have canons so you can pick them as your fcs! we have a short one hundred word word count. and you get to also pick your own starter! calamity is going to focus on providing users with a good and stable plot line to follow. this helps each character progress and some might even have a play in affecting the plot! we hope you enjoy your time here and if you have any questions don't be afraid to ask.

hello calamity! we're nearing the two months mark in a few weeks. how time flies! right now we have two things going on that need your participation. the first is an activity check! it is impotant that you check in so you don't lose your face claim. the second is the otm nomiations! we're doing it a bit different than last time. so please submit your nominations in. a vote thread will be up in the next few days. there will also be a formal event coming very soon, so keep your eye out for that. keep being cool!
we're currently about to host calamity's first contest in slatepor. trainers are flocking to the city to see, the city's been trying to get good pr since the gala, and it seems to be working! they're asking for both coordinators and volunteer judges to sign up.

Was this it? Usa watched as his brother's Pokemon went in for another attack. Likewise, the Drowzee launched an attack of its own. Barring the moments where he would have done things differently, this was an interesting battle for sure. The Drowzee was tough, and despite most odds, it was still standing after the onslaught of quick attacks that Toki unleashed on it.
Well then, looks like my brother might get himself a strong one. i can't let him outdo me... He looked down at the egg that now rested on his lap. I wonder what you're going to be...something strong I hope. He smiled at the thought of the egg hatching into a Metagross. But, quickly pushed the idea out of his head. A Metagross hatching from an egg...ridiculous. Despite how ridiculous it was, the thought was still enough to make him smile.
his life faded before his eyes as the final quick attack hit him. drowzee fell to the ground, his eyes staring at the egg one last time before falling into a deep sleep.
drowzee fainted! scyther gained 2 levels! capture? more pokemon?
Risu waved a fist up, soon after that he began doing a dance with Toki. That was definitely one of the hardest battles he has had thus far. This Drowzee had fight in him as creepy as it was. Maybe he should catch it? It didn't quite compliment how he battled so why should he? Though hypnosis and disable seem like very powerful weapons to have at his arsenal.
He reached into his backpocket and decided he would try to catch this pokemon. Fukeyo would be his name. He was unsure how often he would use this pokemon but he would catch it with this ball. With himself still wearing his glasses to ensure where the capture would go, he tossed the ball hitting Fukeyo in the head before an inevitable capture. "Yes! We did it Toki!" He looked at his brother and grinned. "Alright you gotta promise to be nice to him." Risu walked to his brother and was ready to depart from this area. With this Toki grew stronger and he added a new member to the family!
Usa jumped to his feet as soon as the Drowzee fainted. Well done! He thought as he adjusted his grip on his poke egg to ensure that he didn't drop it. As soon as his brother walked over to him, he congratulated him.
After a few seconds of congratulations, Usa quickly lifted his egg to eye level to show his brother what he had found. He then explained what had happened while he was battling.
Though his brother seemed ready to leave the route, Usa still wanted to do more battling. "I think I'll stay here a bit longer" he announced, as he dusted some dirt off his bum. "I still want to battle some wild Pokemon"...
a mankey hung on a branch by his tail and looked at the two trainers, curious as to what was going in. hmm, he'll go investigate! so he dropped down to the ground and hopped over to the trainer with the egg, waving to get his attention.
Usa was determined to level up his Pokemon. His goal was to be a ranger, which surely meant both he and his Pokemon needed to be stronger. Well, let's see what Pokemon will pop up next... No sooner said (or in this case, thought) than done, another wild Pokemon landed before him. A Mankey. A smile slowly shifted into an excited grin. "A Mankey" he yelled. His eyes lit up from the intent to capture the Pokemon.
He quickly reached for his Absol's Pokeball. Holding it into the air, he yelled...
Before he could call forth Leonidas, Zubat emerged from her Pokeball in a flash of light. She flew up and around, and then over and under just before landing on top of Usa's face - giving the visibly irritated trainer a kiss on the mouth. "What are you doing" Usa yelled as he rubbed the Pokemon's slobber from his lips, "I didn't call for you". The Zubat chuckled and then perched on the ground in front of the Mankey. Usa sighed as he returned Leonidas' Pokeball to his pocket. "Well, whatever...use..." he paused for a moment as he tried to recollect what moves the Zubat knew. Remembering what had happened when they met, he yelled: "Use SUPERSONIC and then follow up with a... an ASTONISH". Zubat quickly complied.
what the hell! first the supersonic hit, that was annoying enough. the mankey felt dizzy and was unable to attack. then the zubat even used astonish! the mankey flinched and was done for the turn.
Risu watched his brother battle this Mankey, it sure seemed like his brother had more of the strategy genes than he did. It's almost ridiculously scary how strong his brother was at times. Granted in this situation it was a waste since he didn't even plan to use his Zubat, there was no point to this. Was he going to capture the Mankey in the end? Not that it bothered him but this would be the second pokemon his brother would catch that doesn't fit his personality at all.
Easy enough, Usa thought. The Pokemon wasn't putting up much of a fight. He clenched his fists and yelled: "Astonish once more". Before carrying out the attack, Zubat flew up and around and then landed on Usa's face. She gave him a quick kiss on the cheek and then flew off in attack formation. "The hell...you have to stop doing that" Usa yelled as he vigorously scrubbed his cheek with the palm of his hand. He knitted his browse and yelled at the Pokemon: "Just keep using astonish...and no more funny business".
again? the mankey was starting to get really annoyed. two astonish attacks just flinched the poor monkey. in the end he just gave up and ended up fainting.
mankey fainted! zubat gained 2 levels! capture? more pokemon?
Zubat's barrage of attacks managed to take the Mankey down. To celebrate, the Zubat quickly flew towards her trainer...it was obvious what she was about to do... "Oh no you don't", Usa yelled as he raised her pokeball just in time for he to vanish in a flash of bright light. He then glanced over at the Mankey, and quickly made his way towards it. He pulled out a pokeball, and tossed it at the fainted Pokemon. Success! He managed to capture another Pokemon! Usa was excited. So much so, that he was ready for another wild battle!
Risu continued watching his brother another capture it seemed. Though this was beginning to get boring his brother was getting so much stronger than he was. It was time for a small amount of time apart. While apart he would obviously get ahead of his brother Usa. He would meet interesting people and battle them! Most importantly and win!
Risu looked at his brother. "We'll meet up again at the Gala and Briney's house!" He called out and began running and waving good bye leaving this route as quickly as possible.
Usa's hunt continued even after his brother left. He hoped for something strong -- something that would make his team strategically stronger. I have a dark type, a flying/poison type and now a fighting type. Perhaps a steel or electric type might help me cover my bases? Or, maybe a ghost... His face had a puzzled expression as he tried to anticipate what he might find next...
this magnamite floated around the route searching for something to do. maybe a battle would suffice. he found a trainer and floated in front of him, preparing himself for a battle.
Usa's eyes shot open. A Magnemite appeared before him. It was the perfect addition to his team! With haste, he reached for Leonidas' Pokeball and... A bright light emanated from his pocket. Once again, Zubat released herself from her Pokeball. Ugh, not now Zubat! The tiny bat didn't hesitate. She blew a kiss at Usa and then used SUPERSONIC. Soon after, she followed up with an ASTONISH.
