hello calamity! we're nearing the two months mark in a few weeks. how time flies! right now we have two things going on that need your participation. the first is an activity check! it is impotant that you check in so you don't lose your face claim. the second is the otm nomiations! we're doing it a bit different than last time. so please submit your nominations in. a vote thread will be up in the next few days. there will also be a formal event coming very soon, so keep your eye out for that. keep being cool!
we're currently about to host calamity's first contest in slatepor. trainers are flocking to the city to see, the city's been trying to get good pr since the gala, and it seems to be working! they're asking for both coordinators and volunteer judges to sign up.

He fumbled along the beaten path leading into Oldale with an exasperated look on his face. He found himself still a bit shaken up from the route leading here, out of his own stupid wit that decided it’d be a great idea to yell a threat out into the wilderness and expect a tiger to not pounce out and try to eat your face. It was that mixed with dying down adrenaline, his Turtwig sleeping while clinging to his shoulder. He hadn’t a clue how it managed that bird-like grip.
“It’ll get easier I promise Grotto.” He whispered to said pokemon, making sure that he didn’t move in a way that’d send his pokemon hurdling to the ground. “Then we can get to the fun stuff.” A warm smile planted itself across his face as he finished that sentence. Despite the thoughts racing through his head, he hasn’t been regretting this at all. The brunette patted the Turtwig’s head one more time before turning around. His eyes widened and a gasp escaped from him as he walked straight into the wall of the pokemon center, instead of the actual door. The impact left him falling over onto his butt, and the turtwig stumbling off his shoulder with a startled cry.
“OW! Who put that there?!” He groaned, rubbing his now sore nose as he tried to gather himself. His pokemon let a whine of disapproval, agreeing with his trainer on why the object had to wake him up from his nap. “Man I hope no one saw that.” He muttered, pulling his hat down over his face to hide the embarrassment quickly coming over. That wasn’t the door, man he must look really stupid right now.

Bunny had spend the day being pretty lazy, to be honest. She had eaten breakfast and just finished lunch inside to pokemon center. She had decided to go out and take a walk around the town, that way maybe all the food she had devoured would have a harder time sticking to her tummy and thighs.
Dorian was wrapped in her arms, the Ditto taking the shape of a Lillipup as it wriggled from excitement. Meanwhile, Diana took her place on the ground, following Bunny's steps and occasionally weaving through her legs in a sort of game. Bunny giggled at the both of them as they played, Dorian yipping at the other with joy.
The doors of the Pokemon center slid open with a light whirring sound, and as she stepped out, Bunny gasped before trying to hide a tiny laugh behind a hand. Somebody seemed to have missed the door!
The closer she got, offering her hand to help the boy up, she realized she recognized him — it was Lionel! They had met briefly back in Littleroot around the time Bunny had been given Diana as a starter from Prof. Birch.
"Oh my gosh, Lio! Are you alright?" she giggled quietly, helping pull him up to his feet. "Looks like you slipped there."

Oh no oh no. Lio’s mind went into panic when he heard the doors open, but instead of getting himself up he froze in place. His hands clenched the bill of his cap tighter, earning a concerned look from the Turtwig next to him. There was a few yips from a small dog, a Pokémon that had gotten Grotto excited as he bounded up as fast as a turtle could go to the Pokémon and started wagging his tail at it. However, what had actually made Lio look up was the voice of the person who owned the dog.
Lio slowly took his hands off his cap and took the hand offered instead, allowing him to stand up again. The teen shifted on his feet, half looking at the girl in front of him and half looking at the Turtwig’s antics. How it went from grouchy and sleepy to happy and energetic he would never know. “B-BUNNY!” Lio shouted, but caught himself in the act and quieted down. “Um… Yeah I’m fine.” He grumbled in embarrassment. He hadn’t really… slipped? How was he going to say this?
“Grotto was asleep on my shoulder he is very heavy and I fell down?” He spoke somewhat quickly, half-lying about the situation as a whole. His Pokémon upon hearing this looked up and gave him a nasty glare. “Twig!” It growled, and Lio shook his head. “I ran into the wall of the Pokémon center for not paying attention…” He shot out again at a quicker pace and let a nervous smile slip onto his lips. The entire time he was trying not to bring his hand back up to his hat. It was something he did when he was nervous or embarrassed; cover his face with his hat so that people wouldn’t see the look on his face. He hated his shortcomings a lot, and that just made the situation ten times worse.

She giggled a little at her friend's response, shaking her head as he attempted to lie. Dorian jumped out of her arms and on the ground, playfully circling the two of them with little yips, hoping to play with Lio's Turtwig. "Don't worry," Bunny laughed quietly, "believe me, I've done that tons of times." She shot him a reassuring wink, hoping he'd feel a little bit better.
While Bunny reached over to pat his shoulder, Dorian yipped even louder at the trainers' feet. Diana was sitting beside Bunny now, curiously watching the Ditto-now-Lillipup act like, well, a puppy. She supposed she was a little more... mature than Dorian. But regardless, she watched to see if Grotto wanted to play. There wasn't any way she was gonna miss out on tag or something!
As she looked down at her pokemon, Bunny laughed. "I'm sorry they're so enthusiastic," she said, motioning to Dorian (though honestly she wasn't all that sorry at all, she really enjoyed the Ditto's playful nature). "It's not often Dorian gets to play with pokemon that aren't on my team."
