hello calamity! we're nearing the two months mark in a few weeks. how time flies! right now we have two things going on that need your participation. the first is an activity check! it is impotant that you check in so you don't lose your face claim. the second is the otm nomiations! we're doing it a bit different than last time. so please submit your nominations in. a vote thread will be up in the next few days. there will also be a formal event coming very soon, so keep your eye out for that. keep being cool!
we're currently about to host calamity's first contest in slatepor. trainers are flocking to the city to see, the city's been trying to get good pr since the gala, and it seems to be working! they're asking for both coordinators and volunteer judges to sign up.

[ SETH ] Something just didn't feel right about rushing through Oldale to get to the next city. Seth wanted to take his time and explore the routes. What's more, he wanted to meet more Pokemon. Skipping past Route 103 without even glancing at it did not allow for such things. Seth had returned from Petalburg to get the most out of the routes, starting by exploring this little inlet. From what he had heard, it was a dead-end. When he looked across the water, however, he could see some land and what looked like a path. Too bad he didn't have a water Pokemon to help him across.
It was early afternoon--Seth had planned his whole day around this--and he had just been wandering the short stretch to get familiar with the area. Eventually, he settled down by the water, staring into it. His Pokemon were all in their pokeballs, waiting to be sent out for a battle. Seth had only come out for this route, ignoring everything else on his way. It was hard to ignore the wild Pokemon on the way, and just the view of nature in general, but he had a destination in mind: here. Seth waited at the water's edge for Pokemon he might be able to study, trying his best to keep his patience.

zelda's hands weren't itching for anything today. it was an odd feeling, but she felt a little settled now. with her zorua trailing beside her, she took a slow amble up north of oldale, listening to lapping water coming her way. she could smell the sea. they were some ways away from the ocean, but all the waters were connected. where she found water, she supposed she would find the sea.
her zorua spotted seth and ducked her body down, blue eyes glancing at her mistress. she raised a hand, indicating that no, they weren't going to try that today. she just wanted to see what she could find around here. if it meant having to socialise, the woman didn't mind. she searched her mind for a suitable alias, and one for her zorua as well.
"looking for something?" she called out in a sing song voice to seth, approaching the male with a sweet smile on her face. her zorua snickered in greeting.

looking for something?!?! no, they were just looking to have some fun. when the female called out they were sure the male was going to turn his attention away from the pond. so they leaped out of the water and wrapped their arms/legs(?) around his leg, trying to pull him in.

[ SETH ] Seth wasn't expecting anyone else to show up since this wasn't a necessary route to get anywhere. He supposed it was a public space, though, and anyone could walk up without warning. When the girl did so, Seth was caught off guard. Of course, whenever someone tried to open a conversation with him, he was always caught off guard. He turned around, feet still near the water, to look at the new arrival, "Oh, uh, just P-Pokemon." Ugh, Seth really hated meeting new people. Just how many people were in this region? He seemed to running into them non-stop. Just a day alone with Pokemon. That wasn't an unreasonable thing to ask, was it?
There was a sound of surprise at the sudden wetness on his leg. Seth looked at the Pokemon with surprise and excitement. Despite their menacing actions, Seth didn't act offended or fearful. He chuckled quietly after the surprise faded, though he had stifle some panic. Just because he didn't want to look scared didn't mean he was blind to the aquatic Pokemons' intentions. "Hehe, silly things, that's my leg." Seth pulled out his pokedex as well as a pokeball. Bringing out his Shinx, Seth scanned them and tried to nudge and gently shake them off his leg. The Frillish were adorable, and Seth was fascinated by the variation in color. Catching one of them was an absolute must. He just... wanted his leg back first.
[ SUMMARY ] - Seth used Squirm! - Sparks the Shinx was sent out!

there was a coy smile on her face as she approached the young boy. he was no older than twenty, zelda figured, still young and naive. "my, you seem to have gotten yourself into a little bit of a pickle there. let me help," she spoke calmly, nudging her zorua forward. the cheeky little thing grinned and leapt into action. she opened her mouth, firing toxic gunk at the male. "that should get them off nice and easily."
toxic would eat at them until they bent to her will. zelda wasn't nearly done, however. she had her eyes set on the glorious little pink one. she wasn't sure how much use it would be out of land, but she figured she could swindle someone into buying them sooner or later. "don't forget that one too," she noted, pointing to the pink one with a slender finger. her zorua chuckled and fired another toxic in their direction as well. even if it didn't hit them, well, it'd hit the water. goodness knows how long those frillish could stay in there.

Owwie! The toxic from the Zorua hit both of the Frillish in the face and caused them to stammer backwards, letting go of Seth's leg. This girl was rude! Just throwing...stuff in their face. They didn't know what it was but it hurt! With a cry out of both of them the Frillish would open their mouths up, firing a bubble attack at the Zorua.

[ SETH ] With Seth's pokedex already out, he thought he might as well scan the nice lady's Pokemon as well. It was being described by that tinny voice when it started attacking. Seth wasn't too happy about getting hit with the gunk, but he supposed it got the Frillish off him. He gave a disgusted sound and tried to shake as much of it off as he could as he stood up. These would have to be washed somehow...
Forcing himself to ignore his dirtied pants, Seth turned his attention to the battle. "Heh, thanks. Let's help her out, Sparks!" The little Shinx glared at the pair of Frillish, doing its cutest best to Intimidate them. Sparks spurted up in her fur, filling it with electricity. Next, the little blue thing charged at the blue Frillish, jumping on it and hitting it with all the electricity she had built up.
[ SUMMARY ] - Sparks's Intimidate took effect! - Sparks used Charge! - Sparks used Spark on the blue Frillish!
