hello calamity! we're nearing the two months mark in a few weeks. how time flies! right now we have two things going on that need your participation. the first is an activity check! it is impotant that you check in so you don't lose your face claim. the second is the otm nomiations! we're doing it a bit different than last time. so please submit your nominations in. a vote thread will be up in the next few days. there will also be a formal event coming very soon, so keep your eye out for that. keep being cool!
we're currently about to host calamity's first contest in slatepor. trainers are flocking to the city to see, the city's been trying to get good pr since the gala, and it seems to be working! they're asking for both coordinators and volunteer judges to sign up.

The leaves fell upon the black tank on the male that was doing push-ups in the middle of the woods with his Tyrogue. They were adrenaline junkies of sorts, an interesting trait. But for someone who was usually loudmouthed, for someone who liked talking, there was no sound escaping with the air of his breath. The sheer concentration he tried to obtained at this moment seemed like it would be needed soon. Well, there was never really knowing of these things before, and this was also mid-morning push-ups time. My, how time flies on by.

"Quite the gym you've chosen, yeah?" The trainer moves from behind the trees on his way back to the old shack where an old man promised him a ride back to Slateport. His voice is level, pleased at having left the city he despises only to run into a man working out in the heart of the woods. Sunlight peeked through the tall trees here and there, but shadow still claimed it's thrown as king. "It's a rarity you know, running into strangers in these massive woods. Especially when you're so far off the beaten path."

When Erick heard the voice, he calmly jumped up with the last push. He wiped his brow with his forearm, a smirk on his face appeared on his face before he showed his eyes to the stranger. He turned the smirk into a grin "Really? That means we should make this moment count! I'm guessing you're a trainer. Do you mind giving me and Alioni here a battle? We're still relatively new to this scene!" Erick looked at his Tyrogue that seemed about as happy as the trainer was to find someone in the scattered light in this dense forest. This would be fun, and a good experience for the both of them.

"I don't have many pokemon with me right now, but sure I'm not opposed to a quick battle." In truth he wants to continue running short on time, but it'd be bad manners to decline a challenge. And so he's resolved to use a pokemon that would get this out of the way as quickly as possible. With that in mind the man calls forth his pokemon, a giant sea snake appears in the white light watching both the opposing trainer and his small pokemon, before glancing at his trainer. The man makes a sign that says go easy on it, the water type pokemon agreeing follows his trainers orders.

After the acceptance of battle, Erick was thrilled, but his face was relaxed. When the trainer pulled out his pokemon, the trainer somewhat marveled at the size and body type of this creature. It looked more mythical than anything he had encountered so far, but that wasn't enough to personally intimidate him. A smirk appeared on his face. "Thanks. Let's see then, hit him with a Fake Out and Tackle" the smaller pokemon burst into to action, going at the snake's scare face in attempts to hit it to cause a temporary stutter and lunge forward at it after that. Erick paid close attention to see how this would go, working with all his power to get past this pair.
Summ: Tyrogue uses Fake Out and Tackle. Ability: Guts Moves: Tackle Fake Out Foresight Counter

The large water type no urge to battle something so tiny simply lays it's head on the forest floor as the fighting type goes to attack the fake out causes the water type to flinch, but it wasn't really trying to attack anyways. Soon after the tyrogue forces a tackle moving the large dragon pokemon back slightly, but doing no significant damage. "Gyrados bite!" The trainer calls, but one glance at the cute tiny fighting type was too much the motherly gyrados couldn't bring herself to attack. Or rather attack seriously. The massive water type goes for a bit intentionally veering far from her target and into a tree crushing wood with her massive jaw cause a tree to collapse. Miles couldn't help but sight and wait for the younger man to order his next move.
Oi, was this thing for real? There was a clenched fist when Alioni's hits landed, but they didn't seem to do much to the pokemon. No, but more than that, it was allowing the tinier pokemon to do what it wanted. "Hahaha, I get it. Then allow Alioni to use you as a punching bag." Alioni dodged the jaw and tree with an easy shift in position, but keep the water snake's head in sight. "Alright then, give em a double Tackle" Erick said. Tyrouge sprang into action to attempt a hit at the pokemon and make it move further. And then another attempt to push it back once more.
