hello calamity! we're nearing the two months mark in a few weeks. how time flies! right now we have two things going on that need your participation. the first is an activity check! it is impotant that you check in so you don't lose your face claim. the second is the otm nomiations! we're doing it a bit different than last time. so please submit your nominations in. a vote thread will be up in the next few days. there will also be a formal event coming very soon, so keep your eye out for that. keep being cool!
we're currently about to host calamity's first contest in slatepor. trainers are flocking to the city to see, the city's been trying to get good pr since the gala, and it seems to be working! they're asking for both coordinators and volunteer judges to sign up.

"snooki-kins, come down right now!" gabby says. she's so tired of always yelling at her glameow! couldn't her pokemon listen to her for once? "i'm telling mom if you don't!" she says, but to no avail. the cat stays up there, taunting the poor girl. would anybody help?

it was supposed to be a new start but, how could she have resisted the one small semblance of home she'd been offered. the blitzle's bright eyes stared up at her reminding her of days at home with the numerous one's she'd helped train. the hand she help outward was soon enough nudged by the mon. dove grinned toothily. "looks like we're stuck together from here on out then." she adjusted the strap of the bag on her shoulder, feeling the curve of the egg resting safely inside.
seeing as there was no rush she decidedly loitered about the small town, earning some stares due to her attire but she didn't so much care toward them. so long as they kept their thoughts out of their mouths. nevertheless! this time was spent better familiarizing herself with the shooter the blitzle, needless to say the two hit it off like a lightningbolt thanks to the woman's expertise.
"kinda hungry actually." she spoke after a brief bout of silence. "hang on a sec here and i'll get us somethin' to eat." with that she rose from the fence she had been leaning against and entered form nondescript store. which could have very well been the only store in the place. with what little money dove had on her she went about scanning the shelves for something both edible and familiar. meanwhile, unbeknownst to the racer, shooter fell into the temptation of wandering further than necessary, happening upon a young girl yelling at a...tree?
"shooter! i told you to wait back there!" dove's agitated voice rang out. tch, typical of a young pokemon, there was a part of them so naturally disobedient and likely to follow their own curiosity. hm? what was happening here? "hey kid you okay?" she asked the girl who was eyeing the height in irritation more so than actual anxiety.
dove glanced upward. a glameow up a tree. how cliche. though from the looks of think the feline didn't seem to want to come down. "oi kitty! 'cmon down won't ya?" well it was worth a shot. and she was a lazy bitch at the moment. she didn't even get to eat anything yet.

'Boy of Steel'
It was the afternoon already and Raizel had just recently awoken from his sleep. He was staying within a resort and hadn't been outside all day until now. After showering, getting dressed, and brushing his teeth. He would look at himself in the mirror and fixed the clothing that he wore for today which were the following: a red V-neck long-sleeved shirt, followed by a pair of black capris fitted shorts that would have a pair of red suspenders dangling from behind his waist, a red slouchy-beanie that rested atop of his head, and lastly for his footwear Raizel donned a pair of black low top converse on his left foot and on his right a pair of red low top converse. For his accessory Rai had five empty pokeball's latched onto his belt while the sixth held Oshawott inside of it, who which had still been resting, and lastly he had upon his back a white backpack.
He had now been prepared to go out and head to his next destination. Exiting the resort that he had resided after thanking the owners Rai made his way out. Looking at his Pokewatch to check out the next place on the map, he would hear a cry for help after. Raising his head to see what the shouting were all about Rai had seen a girl screaming at a Glameow. He held a puzzling look but by what he could see he saw the girl had been struggling with getting her down.
He wasn't sure how he was going to help, but he would attempt anyway. Running over to the girl he would shout, "Yooo!" Coming to a halt he would give the girl a cheesy smile and said, "I'm guessing your having trouble getting your Pokemon down, right? I don't mind helping you out for a bit, just wait here, k?" He would place his back down by the girl to watch. Looking up he could see the cat Pokemon had been quite far, would he be able to reach it? He could only try. Before moving he took note of a blonde haired woman beside the girl and said, "Hey there! I'm guessing you're not gonna get the cat?" He said hoping she'd offer, but not waiting he would give a sigh as he rolled his sleees up and started to make the first move.
Starting with the first foot, his right, and his left hand holstering itself around the tree. He would slowly begin to climb up the tree with a slight struggle as the girl could hear a grunt emerging from his vocals, "Come...on...almost...there." He was halfway there. Within the time span it took, being only three minutes, he made it! Hoping up on the tree branch to take a breather, he would sigh for a moment to take a break and said, "Alright, kitty. Don't give me any shit because I already had some on the way up here," he said eying the cat. Moving slightly over the Glameow would sway it's tail slowly back and forth. Suddenly a small snap could be heard. Both Rai and the Glameow would look behind Rai only to see a small portion of it beginning to fall apart, "Look here cat, you have to come with me now. If you don't, we're both dead." He would give the cat a panicking look, but had to remain calm for the Glameow would probably freak out more than himself.
she's close to crying, but these two people come by to help her! gabby smiles. they were her heros! one of them keeps her company, while the other climbs up the tree. glameow isn't happy with the site of him. she hisses, swiping at him with her claws unsheathed. "be careful mister, snooki scratches!" she heard a small crack. oh no, they would need to be quick. she turns to her, poking her arm.
that snarky little shit of a cat. dove's lips pursed into a pout when the glameow shot the most smug of looks back down at her. how did this little girl get along with such a pokemon. the blonde was sure that if she ever found herself in the possession of such a creature they'd be at odd until the end. then again, such a situation would be as fun as it was frustrating she supposed. dove always did like the challege pokemon posed. such was apparent from the times she spend wrangling unruly zebstrika back home.
the arrival of the blue-haired youth was a surprising one, seeing as how no one else had offered their assistance (not that what she was doing could even be called that) in the town. dove glanced back at the tree. "y'know i would," she drawled, eyes squinting from the dappled sunlight. "but i really shouldn't climb on an empty stomach." she patted at her torso, by her side the blitzle cast her a look that said 'did you really just.'
dove failed to hold back the completely unfeminine snort. 'snooky?!' shooter's bray to get herself under control seemed to be enough to get the blonde woman to right herself, though a few snickers still got by her lips. what kind of a name was snooky?! no wonder the cat didn't want to come down. who knew what other unfortunate things it faced. this almost reminded her of that ninja story she read as a kid. dove sobered up at the girl's question. "if he falls i 'ain't catchin' him."
the two watched in suspense...on the girl's part at least. the branch creaked. oh boy. "hey shooter why don't you cushion his fall?" a wry smirk crossed dove's lips as the blitzle cried in shock, close to admonishing her trainer or even suggesting such a thing. did the woman see the spikes of her mane at all?! "alright alright! it was just a suggestion," dove motioned for the equine to calm before crossing her arms and looking off to the side. "...it would have been fun to see though..."
it was apparent at this point that the tree limb wouldn't support their combined weight. with a sigh dove turned to the girl. "i don't suppose you carry a trampoline in the backpack of yours eh kid?"
SNAP!
"shooter catch the cat!" because arceus knows the weight of that guy would surely crush her beloved blitzle. without any further waiting the zebra-like creature jumped an impressive height in an effort to land the glameow safely on her back, at the risk of being clawed if it did manage to latch onto her.

This wasn't going his way at all. The cat didn't want to get down from the tree and now the branch were surely soon to break! He gave a slight of annoyance as he would extend his hand to the cat a little bit, "Look, I don't wanna be up here. You don't wanna be up here, why are we up here?" Suddenly the girl would shout upward to warn him about something but he couldn't hear her over the hissing off the cat. Looking around he would ask, "Did you...did you just hiss me? Look here cat, I'm not afraid to knock you out of the tree by force if I have to because I will!" He would growl at the Glameow as a retort.
Extending his left hand to grab his tail, the cat would scratch forth at him, "Woah!" He would pull back just in time. This Glameow was seriously trying to take his fingers off. Man, this is why he hated Glameow's. They were not like Skitty's at all. Skitty's are beautiful and kind and evolve into something better than a Glameow ever did. These things evolved into something gross, fat, and lazy. Honestly, who would choose a Glameow over a Skitty? You had to be mentally insane to choose something irritating over something sweet. Man, this made him kinda wanna go find a Skitty himself now after this.
Suddenly emerging from his Pokeball. A flash of light had been shot from one of the pokeball clippings on Rai's waist as OShawott would appear on his back. Looking behind him he would hear an, Osh! What the flying fuck? Did this Pokemon really just pop out of it's on ball? Seriously, you had to be busting Rai's Pokeballs. After Oshawott had appeared it had done nothing but add weight on top of the branch, thus causing the branch to break soon after. Shit.
Free falling to the ground soon after, Glameow was too far for Rai to catch, but Oshawott wasn't. Catching Oshawott and curling into a ball to protect Oshawott from getting hurt. Rai had his back facing the grassy surface while his front faced the impeccable bright sun. Closing his eyes, he embraced himself and Oshawott.
BOOM!
A huge crash could be heard, "Ow, ow, ow, ow, ow..." he would sit up for a moment rubbing his back after having fallen from the tree. Oshawott had sat in his lap unharmed and well. He would stand on his trainers thighs and touched his face as he helped wipe off some dirt, "Thank's Mercury," he said thanking his Oshawott. Looking around for the Glameow he would wonder if it were okay, "Where did that damn cat go? Is everyone else alright? I hoped I didn't fall on anyone or anything," he said a little worried.
"that's okay, you can catch snooki!" she says. even if he falls, he'll be oky. with a snap the branch breaks. the trainer falls - luckily, snooki's caught by the blitzle. she squeals in delight. unfortunately, the crash in front of her stops it short. she runs to him. "you okay mister?"

If it hadn't been for Rai Mercury would've been crushed. Hopefully the girl herself was alright as well as her Glameow. Raizel would stand up as Mercury danced around it's trainer foot. He was excited that his trainer had not only attempted to save another Pokemon, but he did it in a cool and brave way! He was happy to have such a good trainer who'd go to any length to help others. It was refreshing to see.
"Eh?" He would turn to see the little girl asking if he were alright. He would give a small smile and said, "Yeah, I'm alright. Nothing can break these bones of steel, hehe," said Raizel holding a straight face. In honesty, behind the back of his mind he was actually in pain from the fall and didn't wanna seem like he came out scathed thus looking weak in front of the little girl. Hopefully she would be grateful for what he did.
"yeah, thanks so much mister!" the girl says, taking the glameow from the blitzle. she's happily reunited, even if said pokemon was in a bad mood. she fishes out a couple rare candies from her pocket.
"here you go! i found these on the ground, please take it!"
