It was a bright and early morning for Sylvester as he awoke to the sound of birds outside chirping in excitement for the new day. Realizing that he had been sleeping on the couch all along, that reminded Sylvester who else must have been in the hotel room with him. Headed straight for the kitchen, which was located not far to his hind from the couch, Sylvester placed a skillet on the stove and poured a little oil inside. Turning the flames on and lowering them significantly, he grabbed the carton of eggs within the fridge, cracking them into a bowl and whisking them thoroughly.
Moving onto chopping vegetables, it wasn't long before Sylvester was back to the skillet with the whisked egg. Having placed the chopped onions and peppers in the bowl, he poured out half the contents and allowed the egg to cook until it became firm.
Placing a generous amount of cheese and ham on the egg, he carefully folded it over and allowed the omelette to cook, lowering the temperature even further. '...I forgot if Harley even likes omelettes.'
The thought daunted over Sylvester, who suddenly grabbed another bowl and whisked a couple more eggs inside. Adding some cinnamon and vanilla flavoring, Sylvester set another skillet on the stove, dipping some bread and frying it up to make french toast. Slaving himself away even further to make the breakfast as perfect as could be, Sylvester even went so far as to grab a few oranges and slice them in half to be squeezed for their juice.
That was when he heard the sound of the bedroom door opening, dropping everything and turning around with a smile to see that...
Harley had been awake for a few minutes before she heard Sylvester moving around in the kitchen, but only really long enough for her to brush her hair. She changed, a night camisole and matching shorts probably not the most appropriate thing to walk out in, and out her glasses on. Now she wore a tank top and knit shorts until they would leave and walked outside into the main area. She didn't expect Sylvester to be watching, so she froze for a moment before walking out of the room.
"You don't have to sleep on the couch," She frowned a bit, making it sound like she could take the couch once in a while too... Or he could take it however he wanted, she didnt mind either way. "You made breakfast?" She couldn't cool to save her life but a few simple things. Omelettes and French toast are out of her range. She stuck to things like scrambled eggs and the fail proof cereal. "It smells good," She smiled at him, and walked a little closer. Honestly, she'd eat just about anything as long as it looked like food and wasn't a pokemon.

Sylvester listened intently to Harley as she came out of the room. He felt a little odd not letting her have the bed, for a multitude of reasons. One being, it made changing for her a lot easier, especially since she was a girl. Sylvester didn't exactly want to accidentally walk in on her changing as he walked out of his bedroom. Doing it this way just made it easier and less prone to such events taking place between the two of them. Not that he didn't want the bed...it would certainly be more comfortable for him, but now? Sylvester had someone else to worry about. "No it's fine, really." He smiled, moving back to the stove and tending to the breakfast before he could ruin it by burning it all black.
He placed a plate on the counter and flipped the omelette to cook the other side, same as the french toast. "Thanks. I like to cook...sometimes, at least." For Harley, he wanted to make sure things were as good as they could be. Starting their day off together with a freshly cooked meal seemed like a decent way to surprise Harley with the gesture of kindness. Besides, sharing a meal would be great for once. Sylvester had almost forgotten all the little things that made spending time with someone all the more enjoyable. They couldn't very well do nothing but talk about their past, now could they?
"Anyway, it's not like we could share the bed." Of course, he stopped himself there, as Sylvester felt a little awkward bringing that up. It wasn't really that the couldn't, but simply that Sylvester did not want to make Harley uncomfortable staying with him. "I would feel pretty bad if I didn't let you have it." That was another part of it. With all his family's wealth, Sylvester always seemed to enjoy using it to help those that he knew. Not him...
"At least you can cook," She giggled, approaching him from behind to stand on her toes and look over his shoulder as he cooked their breakfast. Her hands steadied herself in his shoulders and she rested her chin there and smiled. "It smells good," She commented, but the food wasn't all she noticed. Being close to him like this, she could smell the way he smelled in the morning and it was almost intoxicating.
She laughed when he commented next on sharing a bed. "I don't mind sharing. I want you to be comfortable, too," it's not like she was trying to get him to give in, but she was. Harley didn't want him to feel pressured, but there wasn't really another way to get her point across without sounding desperate. Besides, we've known each other for years. You're my best friend," She smiled, hoping this would help encourage him. She hadn't moved yet from her place against his shoulders, finding this comfortable unless he says otherwise as she watched him make their breakfast.

It struck Sylvester that Harley was very close, leaning over him as the two observed their breakfast as it was one cooking. Rather, her breakfast, since he was only making one omelette and enough french toast for one. Sliding the food off onto a relatively large plate, he moved it to the side and gestured for her to dig in. "Believe it or not, the couch is actually more comfortable than it looks." Mostly a white lie, though Sylvester knew just about anything cushioned or padded would do him well. Even Harley felt soft enough to lay on, the way she leaned against him causing him to feel...exhilarated.
"Maybe you should go test it out?" Gesturing again towards her, Sylvester had hopes she would take a seat on the couch as she ate. He poured the rest of the whisked egg into the skillet and dropped another few pieces of french toast on the other pan to fry before he put the final ingredients comprised of cheese and ham in his own omelette. When it was done, Sylvester had hopes of going over to enjoy the meal with Harley before she could finish.
He was obviously hellbent on refusing her offer, so with a small sigh she dropped it. She didn't even think telling him that she wanted him to join her would make a difference, especially if he didn't feel the same. She smiled briefly at his comment but chose to not answer. She'd never liked sleeping on couches, but that was just her.
She took her plate when it was offered to it and retreated to the couch like asked, sitting on one end and putting the plate on the coffee table in front of her. She tried a few bites of the meal, noticing how he was still making his, before pausing to wait on him. "This is good; you're a good cook," She smiled over at him, trying to hide her disappointment or at least play it off as a mixture of annoyance and disappointmentnt that he wouldn't take the bed for a night out of fairness.

Sylvester could tell the way Harley acted a little defeated as she took her food to the couch, causing him to frown a bit as he finished cooking his own food. Gathering it all on one plate, he rested it on the small table residing in front of the cough before setting the two glasses of orange juice down. Leaning back into the sofa, Sylvester positioned himself close to Harley. "I'm glad you like it." It would have been pretty embarrassing for Sylvester if she didn't like his cooking, as he did this for her...
Taking a few bites, he decided to turn on the TV. In a few moments, a short broadcast of the local news channel was reviewing the events that transpired at the summer gala. Sylvester then turned the TV back off, and set down his food to take a drink. Then he would aim to break the silence. "Do you understand why I asked you to run away from teams aqua or magma if you ever run into them?" His tone withheld concern, leaning back into the couch and closer to Harley. He looked up towards her face, wondering if Harley could tell yet.
'I can't let anything happen to her because of me...'
The silence was awkward in the time it took him to finish his breakfast and respond to her. She wasn't terribly picky with her food as long as it looked and smelled edible. His cooking was great though, and she doubted that she wouldn't like something he made. She would try anything he made her without question, probably, but it takes a lot for her to be skeptical of food.
He sat close to her which actually brought a flicker of a smile to her lips until he turned the news on. She focused on her breakfast and juice while she ate, ignoring the news that she knew to only end in depressing things. She tuned it out, but when he turned it off and spoke to her, She looked at him a little puzzled. "I know they're bad, but I don't watch the news, so I don't know what they've been up to." Ignorance is bliss in some cases and this was one of them. Of course, hearing it from someone was much more interesting than watching it on the news, so of course the girl was curious about what he had to say about all of this.

He frowned a little at what she had to say. "I told you that because I don't want them to hurt you to get to me." His tone shifted to something more urgent, though ultimately still gentle and quiet. "It wouldn't be unlikely if even just one of them learned of our prior affiliation." The way Sylvester said that made it out to be a lot more sincere. "Believe it or not, we really stuck it to them." Magma was ran out of the building...to say they weren't feeling bitter enough about the defeat to seek revenge was foolhardy to begin with. "Even I feel a little sorry for them, looking back on it all..."
Perhaps that was gloating a bit much, but Sylvester had definitely come prepared. Harley may not have known about much of it at all, but the memories were still very much livid for Sylvester. "I'm just a little worried, I guess. About you..." He resumed gazing towards her, intent on keeping Harley's attention. "Ever since we met up again, I have been feeling a bit differently. Thinking differently, too." Resting back, Sylvester leaned against Harley to show some amount of affection. His best friend from Lilycove was finally beside him again, and he couldn't help but want it to continue.
'Things have just started getting so much better...'
"So you were there? At the gala? What happened?" She suddenly became very worried for him, afraid that they would be after him, especially because he was warning her. "I want to help, not hide," She frowned, looking down into her lap. There was no way she could abandon him if team aqua or magma showed up. She wasn't sure her young ditto could do much right now, but she wouldn't leave him behind.
"Don't be worried about me, I'm worried about you," She frowned still as she looked at him. She didn't like knowing that he was in danger and sighed lightly. He kept talking and she studied his expression. She didn't know know what he meant, or what it had to do with the news, but when she felt him lean against her, she leaned back a little to support them. "What do you mean?" She questioned, resting her head against him and waited on him to explainm

Noticing just how much more inquisitive Harley grew with every passing moment, he figured there was no point in holding anything back. After all, she was a lifelong friend from his childhood."Before I wanted nothing but to take on aqua and magma." Looking towards her, Sylvester divulged his new-found weakness. "But now I feel more vulnerable. I was okay with throwing myself into the mess, but my own friends? No..."
He thought about it then, and started to realize how futile his attempt to tell Harley to run really was. Most every single one of Sylvester's actual friends were ready and willing to confront either of the eco-terrorist organizations. "I just don't want you to get hurt. The others, sure, but not you." Sylvester moved in closer to her face, approaching a more intimate distance while maintaining their eye contact. His hand brushed against the side of Harley's face, and guided up further through her hair. "If you must help, at the very least..." Sylvester began lingering on thoughts of how he could help Harley to where she could fight back. "Train with me then, and go capture more pokemon. They will need to get stronger if you hope to be a match for either aqua or magma."
Truth was, Sylvester wanted to battle and train pokemon with Harley this whole time, even since their youth. But...he did not expect, nor want it to be for this kind of reason. He could feel a lot of self-induced pressure, trying to shoulder his burden as best as possible without allowing her to be involved.
"I don't want you getting hurt either," She frowned at the man, but he briefly touched her face and moved back to he hair after he had leaned close. She pressed their foreheads together and closed her eyes with a light smile, though the close proximity and contact brought a blush to her face. "Of course. My ditto and I are far too weak to take them on right now, but with some training theyd be ready to help out," She smiled, very eager.
"We'll kick some magma and aqua butt, that's for sure," She said with a soft laugh and a smile. It wouldn't be too soon that they encountered one of the teams hopefully, but they needed time to train first. Copycat was far too weak for any real battling and that was her only pokemon and she definitely needed some more pokemon. She would go out and train today, hopefully catch some more pokemon too, and then they could move on to the next town and so forth, only getting prepared for what was to come.

Sylvester laughed at the words of Harley's, wondering just how annoying they could be with a Ditto on their team. The pokemon had limitless potential...for all Sylvester knew to be true, it could even transform into legendary pokemon. He wondered if Harley had ever given that a thought...though what were the chances they would ever even see a legendary pokemon during their new journey?
"Yeah, we certainly will." With Harley moving closer, Sylvester gave in to his urges. With the same hand that was brushing through Harley's hair, he held the poor girl there as he planted a gentle kiss on her lips. The subtle blush already on her face with closed eyes made him feel less immodest about it. Likewise, Sylvester parted from the kiss nigh as soon as he had made it. Yet he remained close to Harley, both hoping and wondering about their future together. "Should we...finish eating?" He said this out of the need to distract himself from the kiss, and the close proximity between the two...
She was not expecting to be kissed. Her heart fluttered and her breathing stopped in shock. It was brief, but it happened. Her blush only intensified and she tried to kiss him back, but he pulled away too quickly for her to actually kiss him back, but hopefully he noticed she tried. She opened her eyes after he had pulled away, but she hadn't quite caught her breath yet.
Trying to contain a smile, she lightly licked her lips as he spoke. "Yeah... We probably should." She grabbed her plate and folded her legs up in the couch with her, towards Sylvester so that she was kind of turned towards him, but not too much. She rested the plate where her knees bent and continued to eat her breakfast, having a terribly hard time distracting herself from the kiss, much less wiping the small smile from her face. In between bites, she decided to make small talk to break the silence and maybe make a distraction. "So, do you have any badges?"

Noticing Harley's reactions, Sylvester was glad she could leave where Sylvester left off. He wasn't exactly sure how ready he was to be in a relationship with Harley. Everything seemed to point in that direction, yet he was hesitant—cautious, more like it. Yet, even still he wanted to give in to his own advances. Fortunately for Harley, she asked just the thing to distract him. "Badges?" He smiled lightly, and leaned down to the side of the couch where his rucksack laid. Sylvester withdrew a case before opening it to display the contents to Harley.
"Just one at the moment, actually." Prying out the Balance Badge, he held it out so Harley could hold it and take a good look. It wasn't a very exotic badge, but it did speak a little bit for Sylvester as a trainer. "The Balance Badge from Petalburg City's Gym Leader, Norman." He smiled at the not-so-distant memories. "I used one pokemon and defeated all three of what Norman had to offer. That pokemon was my Combusken. Flint is his name." Usually Sylvester was not one to brag, but he was rather pleased he won that way...
