hello calamity! we're nearing the two months mark in a few weeks. how time flies! right now we have two things going on that need your participation. the first is an activity check! it is impotant that you check in so you don't lose your face claim. the second is the otm nomiations! we're doing it a bit different than last time. so please submit your nominations in. a vote thread will be up in the next few days. there will also be a formal event coming very soon, so keep your eye out for that. keep being cool!
we're currently about to host calamity's first contest in slatepor. trainers are flocking to the city to see, the city's been trying to get good pr since the gala, and it seems to be working! they're asking for both coordinators and volunteer judges to sign up.

Ever since the talk Sylvester and her had a talk about team aqua and team magma, Harley was determined to train copycat and catch some more pokemon before she saw Sylvester again. The more she had, the stronger she became, the closer they were to be able to bring the teams down. Stepping out of Oldale and into the route leading to petalburg, she released Copycat from its pokeball and knelt before the pink pokemon. "We need to train, Copycat. Gotta catch some more pokemon too," She smiled before she stood and continued onto the trail, hoping that some wild pokemon would show up.
he stumble out onto the path on accident. rolling a little, the budew struggled to get back on his feet. and when he did, he noticed the trainer standing there! oh no!! what if she was going to attack him? looking up at her with wide, teary eyes, he sniffled a little in fear.
a wild budew appeared! budew is scared of harley! what will she do?
They weren't on the trail very long when a little budew appeared, but it seemed very scared. Harley frowned and knelt down, knowing shed feel guilty for trying to hurt this scared little thing. The ditto at her side began to transform into the scared budew, but Harley wasn't paying much attention as she reached out towards the little guy. "Hey there, don't be afraid." She hoped she didn't scare the baby pokemon, but her ditto began to moved towards the scared budew, hopefully able to calm it down some if she didn't.
as the girl approached, the budew began to shake with fear. oh no! she was going to eat him!!!!!
but then his eyes moved from the girl and then to her pokemon. wait, was it transforming? with such a small attention span, the budew forgot about the girl and instead payed attention to the pokemon, eyes flickering back up to the trainer with a curious look as she spoke. Afraid? When was he afraid?
budew became afraid! budew noticed copycat! due to budew's short attention span, he forgot that he had been terrified in the first place! what will harley do?
Harley frowned as the budew grew more scared when she reached out, but when she had noticed her ditto-turned-budew she looked to the real budew. He seemed calm now and she relaxed some, glad to see it didn't seem to be scared anymore. She only wished she had some snacks, but her pockets were empty in that sense. She heavily relied on copycat to win over this budew because she really wanted to capture it. Copycat, though, was not worried. It moved over to the budew and stood next to it and rocked from side to side. "Buuuuu~" Copycat chimed, smiling at the real budew.
the budew chided with glee as the transforming pokemon cam up to it and swayed side to side. deciding this ditto-budew seemed pretty friendly, he began to sway himself and sang with the other pokemon, filled with absolute glee. wow, they were nice! maybe they could be friends?
budew began to sing with copycat! budew has taken a liking to harley & copycat!
Harley could only smile as she watched the two pokemon and say more comfortably on the ground near them. Copycat seemed to be doing a good job at gaining the budews trust, but she wasn't sure that they were close yet. Copycat enjoyed singing with the wild pokemon and toddled over to harley and hopping into her lap. It wanted a new friend and hopefully, hopping into it's trainers lap would help the budew become more comfortable with the trainer.
when the dit-dew hopped into the trainer's lap, the budew once again cocked his head and looked at the girl curiously. maybe they were really friendly? crying with glee, he hopped over to the girl, nuzzling her knee affectionately. they seemed fun!! maybe they'd take him on their journeys? and he could become a roserade!! just like mom!!!
budew has taken a liking to harley! capture? more pokemon?
The ditto jumping into her lap seemed to do the trick as the budew began rubbing against her knee. She smiled and grabbed a pokeball, holding out out towards the budew. Touching it with it, the pokemon would disappear into the pokeball, wiggling before it was captured. "Yay Copycat, good job," She smiled at the ditto as it turned back into it's natural form.

the shroomish walked out onto the route, ignoring the trainer and her pokemon entirely. she was having a pretty gross day. once again, everyone had laughed at her and told her how ugly and weak she was. it had become normal now, and she was used to it, but it still didn't make it sting any less. huffing quietly, she sat at the base of a tree and glared into the bushes, deep in self-depreciating thought.
If she hadn't just caught the cutest grass pokemon ever, she'd definitely want this shroomish. She couldn't befriend and catch all the pokemon though, or her ditto and new budew wouldn't get stronger. Copycat remained outside of it's pokeball and watched the shroomish appear, then looked up to Harley for guidance. Let's battle this one, Copycat. She smiled as the ditto turned back into its normal self. Transform into the sylveon we watched yesterday and use draining kiss! The ditto obliged easily and transformed into the eeveelution they met the other day. They had only learned two attacks, but they were enough to hopefully take down this pokemon. It took a minute for the ditto to muster up the attack, but once it had, the psuedo-sylveon would run at the shroomish and try to kiss it.

great. today just couldn't get any worse, could it?
now a pretty little sylveon was coming up to attack her and prove how ugly and weak she was. the shroomish looked away, easily dodging the attack. everyone in this forest was so damn rude!
maybe she should just leave this place and never come back.
sniffing to herself a little in sadness, the shroomish unleashed a cloud of stun spore to try and paralyze the sylveon.
Harley couldn't believe that the shroomish dodged the attack, then followed up with a paralyzing stun spore. Copycat winced in slight pain and Harley frowned. "Go for two more draining kisses!" she tried to encourage the ditto to attack, but the pokemon froze up during the first attack, the paralyze taking over. After a few moments, the pseudo sylveon attempted another draining kiss, seeming to fight the paralysis for now.

the sylveon's attack hit, but the shroomish neglected to care. it didn't even hurt all that much, to be honest. maybe it actually felt nice to have her life drained slowly.
wallowing in depression, the shroomish didn't even attack. instead she relished in the thought of her life possibly being passed onto a more worthy pokemon, such as this sylveon itself.

She couldn't help but feel guilty for this pokemon, but she had to finish the battle. Copycat would never grow any levels if she caught all the pokemon before they fainted. There would be no way to gain levels of she befriended them all first, so despite the look on hers and copycats faces, she continued on. "Fight back shroomish! I promise I'll capture you and make you strong!" She only hoped that would work before she sent copycat after the shroomish again. "Use dazzling gleam then draining kiss!" a bright flash came from Copycat then before it was running at the shroomish for another life sucking kiss. Harley hated watching this pokemon suffer more than it already was, but hopefully it would perk up with the promise of capturing it.
