How could she have been so stupid. This -- this was her fault. When she had first preached the thought of another journey she had never imagined it would turn out like so; there had been nothing to cause her to assume the worse was to happen. She had chose Hoenn on a whim at best, decided it would be the desired place to go if only due to her unfamiliarity of the region. There had been some news articles about team magma (same as aqua) that appeared during her rather quick skimming of research on her chosen region, however she thought nothing of it. At least not enough to falter her excitement on a new start, one she had imagined happening alongside her brother -- the same brother she had gotten separated from after that god-forsaken ball.
His hesitance should have been heard, not pushed to the side like she always did, no matter the good intention put into her tough love approach to his stress. She had thought the dance, the speed dating, the free food and social atmosphere would be good for the boy; but after the fiasco that ruined the night those dreams were shattered. At this point she wouldn’t be surprised to hear her brother flew all the way back home, a rather pleasant outcome than the ones flooding her mind. Her lips curl between heavy breaths as she stops her strides, hands placed against her knees to ease the growing strain in her body. She had been running most of the way from the train station, only stopping to search cities or small towns her brother might have stopped in -- only to find nothing and take off again.
There’s a small chuckle, breathless and tired as she finally straightens herself up again. Maybe he really did go home, she thinks, finding some solace in the mental image; it was better than all the scenarios at least. I wonder if this is how Nori feels. Her hand finds her brow, swipes the bangs of her hair away from sticking to her skin before going forward again; she was tired (nearing exhaustion at this point) but that was the least of her worries. Nori would have to be somewhere between the train station in Rustboro and Littleroot town, and while that land spanned miles it was a better start than any. He wouldn’t have gone somewhere new, right -- he would have gone somewhere familiar, and in this new region that was a small list.
Off in the horizon, nearly missed in her periphery she notices something -- and as she continues towards it her eyes widen. A person or a figure of one, and it’s her hope that causes her to rush forward and push through the burning feeling in her legs to get closer; it could be. It could be. But it isn’t. As she closes in the details stand out like a sore thumb, a drop from heaven to the ground below as her eyes scan the physical features of a strange, not her brother. It’s rude to say she was let down but she was, and the expression on her face no longer hides the disappointment as her body continues to slowly approach the man. Maybe she could get something out of it, if she still has some luck. “Hello? Excuse me -- I don’t mean to interrupt.” she does actually, but common courtesy states she says this anyway. “Do you have a minute?”
