hello calamity! we're nearing the two months mark in a few weeks. how time flies! right now we have two things going on that need your participation. the first is an activity check! it is impotant that you check in so you don't lose your face claim. the second is the otm nomiations! we're doing it a bit different than last time. so please submit your nominations in. a vote thread will be up in the next few days. there will also be a formal event coming very soon, so keep your eye out for that. keep being cool!
we're currently about to host calamity's first contest in slatepor. trainers are flocking to the city to see, the city's been trying to get good pr since the gala, and it seems to be working! they're asking for both coordinators and volunteer judges to sign up.

It was about that time again, time for Nikolas to go after some more grunts. He had recently caught wind of some type of little temporary place a few Magma grunts were taking refugee in. And he planned to, well to bust them of course. To wait until night had fallen to swoop in and take the grunts out, and turn them into the authorities.
And now that the sun had gone down it was time for his plan to go into action. In full costume, including the hood that covered his face Nikolas, or 'Fletch', as he called himself when he was in costume would make his way to a ledge over looking where the Magma's were supposed to be hiding. A Wooper sitting on his left shoulder, the Wooper also wearing a little tiny black mask to hide it's eyes for some reason. Probably to just emulate it's trainer.
Once he made it onto the ledge Fletch would lay down on top of it. Reaching down onto his fancy utility belt to pull off his retractable bo staff, expanding the staff to full size. Wooper would go ahead and lay down next to him as well, still trying to be as like his trainer as he could. Furthering that desire Wooper would grab a nearby twig with his tail, holding the twig tightly, trying to pretend like it was his own staff.
For the moment Fletch would just lay there on the ledge, silently as the sun began to set all the way. Tightening the grip on his staff as he waited. Barely paying his Wooper's antics or any of his surroundings attention. Giving the supposed Magma hiding place his complete undivided attention.

Harper sighed as she made her way along the route, eyes scanning the nearby trees. Walking at nighttime probably wasn't the best idea, but she needed to get back to a pokemon center so she could sleep for the night... or morning, depending on when she got there.
Somewhere along the line, however, she found herself wrapped up in brush and trees, completely and hopelessly lost. If she could just find her way back to the pathway... Or another person to take her there.
As her journey progressed into the wee hours of the night, she was growing more and more increasingly frustrated with her situation. Eve, who would just make fun of her for being in this predicament in the first place before trying to help, was tucked safely inside her pokeball, unaware of Harper's struggles.
"This is so... stupid." Harper tilted her head back and exhaled loudly, running her fingers through her hair. When she looked back down, however, her eyes caught the flash of something red... and blue, off in the distance. And it was moving!
She took a chance on stepping forward, and tucked her head under a tree branch to see a young man and his pokemon sitting in the bushes, staring out into the darkness.
"... Well this is awkward and peculiar." Harper thought to herself, before stepping up to the man and waving at his pokemon, who was waving a stick at her - although it didn't seem malicious... More like a greeting.
"Hello?" She typed into her phone, turning on the auto-reader so that it would read aloud to him. "What are you doing?'
As soon as the girl's phone said something Nikolas would jump, pretty darn startled and caught off guard. Without getting up from the ground he'd turn his head to look back at the girl who snuck up on him.
Wooper jumping up to his feet and spinning around to face the girl, his tail still wagging the tail around. Wooper didn't know she was their either, he had just happened to of been wagging the stick in her direction while pretending it was a Bo staff like his trainer's.
Still panicking a bit over the sudden appearance of the girl Fletch would start to point to the ground they were standing out. Whispering loud enough for her to hear,
"SHH! I'm waiting for some Team Magma members to come out so I can bust them, get down you're gonna get caught." He said with a sharp nod of his head, no longer pointing at the ground.

Harper bit her lip and immediately stopped her phone, slowly sinking to her knees and flopping down completely, her butt resting on the dirt between her feet. She pouted slightly and glanced towards the camp, now noticing it for the first time. What exactly was he doing?
She sighed silently and nodded to his commands, before reaching out and petting the little wooper on the head, smiling at him. He seemed a little more interested in her presence than the boy who was yelling at her to sit down and stop talking.
At first, she thought he was just being rude, but as she watched a couple of Magma operatives start playing around with what looked like knives and things, she sucked in her lips and chewed on them, staring awkwardly between the boy and the camp.
"Are you going down there?" She pointed, mouthing the words to him. She hoped he could understand her without her phone. Now she was just worried that the light of the phone would give them away, even if she wanted to just type to him.
"Good luck, if you are!" She gave him a bit of a thumbs up.
Fletch blinked a bit as the girl started mouthing out things to him. It seemed like she caught on to the whole shh thing...She caught on a bit too well actually. For a moment he would simply lay there, thinking for the moment about stuff. While it probably wouldn't be hard for one to guess she couldn't talk based on the mouthing and the phone thing. But it'd be kinda rude to just make assumptions for now.
With a quick nod of his head Fletch would reach over for another pokeball, grabbing it off of his utility belt and throwing it backwards. Letting the ball land in the woods behind the three of them before it opens up.
A few moments later the man's Vulpix would slowly come out of the woods, rolling her pokeball in front of her. "Thanks Vulpix." Nikolas would whisper out as he grabbed the ball, placing it back onto his utility belt.
"Yeah I'm going down there..in a moment.." He whispered out to the girl, still being quiet so that the Magma members down below him. After that he'd shift around a bit in his spot, still staring down at the grunts.
Vulpix and Wooper scooting closer to the edge to stare down as well. He wanted to survey what was going on before springing into action, it was too risky to just jump in now, especially with someone else around.

Harper's eyes followed the pokeball as it traveled backwards and disappeared into the woods. She almost got up to go after it, until a vulpix emerged, and Harper let out a tiny, soundless sigh of relief. She hoped that this masked boy would be able to find his pokeball later on, until she realized that Vulpix was rolling it in front of her. Smiling, she reached out and touched the fur of the pokemon very gently with just her fingertips, before glancing over to the boy as he spoke again about going down to - presumably fight - the magma grunts.
Biting her lip, Harper nodded slowly and sunk back onto her heels, resting her butt in the dirt of the forest floor. This would be interesting, to say the least. Hopefully he didn't need backup. All she had were a couple of Pruitt Industries tasers with her to keep her from getting attacked on the routes. Not enough to take down a whole team of magma grunts.
"Good luck." She mouthed again, waiting patiently for him to go and do his thing. Of course, she would sit her and watch, and if need be, jump in to help. It was strange to think that she would help someone she had just met... But that was just like her climbing a tree with Seamus, getting stuck, and breaking her leg when she had first started her journey. It was just who she was; helping out the good-guys... Or bad guys. She couldn't tell right now which this boy was.
Still debating on how he should handle the situation Fletch would continue to lay there for a moment after she wished him luck. Having looked over of course to see what it was that she mouthed to him. He had to make sure what ever plan of action he went through with was as close to perfect as it possibly could be.
He wasn't sure what he'd do with himself if the random girl got hurt because he screwed up something. With a little grunt he'd start digging through his utility belt for a moment. Only to pull out a couple smoke bombs from within the belt. Quickly throwing them down at the Magma's down below.
At least this way he'd have some kind of advantage, if the Magma's swung blindly they'd have a chance of hitting their comrades. And if he was swinging blindly he'd only hit Magma's, the plan made sense to him. Wooper and Vulpix were also too small to get hit with his bo staff if he was aiming for the height of a persron.
With the smoke starting to fill the area the Magma's were Fletch would once again turn to his new mute companion, who should be safe from the smoke up here. "We'll be right back okay, just stay here, okay." He whispered out to her again before jumping down where the Magma's were. Rolling when he hit the ground to lessen the fall of course.
As soon as Fletch hit the ground Vulpix and Wooper would also jump down after him. Wooper stopping first to wave at the girl once again before he jumped down.
Once he was actually down in the smoke Fletch would start to run around in the smoke, swinging his Bo Staff at any people sized shapes in the smoke. Being able to see exactly what he was swinging at whenever he got close enough to a grunt. His pokemon would help out too Vulpix running around firing off stray Ember attacks, and Wooper running around and well...Jumping up at the crotch of grunts, headbutting them where the sun didn't shine.
