BIOGRAPHY - Toby was born and raised in Sunyshore City in the region of Sinnoh. He was an only child in an average family that didn't have too much drama or strife. His mother worked in a Pokemart and his father was a fisherman.
- Early in his life Toby showed a love for the outdoors and Pokemon. He dreamed of owning a Pokemon one day, as well exploring other regions he had never been to before.
- During a fishing trip with his father when he was eight, Toby had the traumatic experience of falling out of the boat they were on and almost drowning as a result. His father managed to rescue him but it gave the young man a fear of the water. Toby now hates the thought of going into the water and refuses to do so.
- As Toby grew older his childhood dreams seem to disappear as he became more invested into his social life and school. However, when he began to work with his father by helping him sell the fish he caught, because there was no way Toby was going out into the water again, his father told Toby about his adventures in Hoenn as a young trainer. The stories that began to captivate him ended up rekindling the young mans ambitions from when he was young.
- Toby worked hard to save up enough money to make the trip to Hoenn and ended up getting his first Pokemon their in Littleroot town.
