hello calamity! we're nearing the two months mark in a few weeks. how time flies! right now we have two things going on that need your participation. the first is an activity check! it is impotant that you check in so you don't lose your face claim. the second is the otm nomiations! we're doing it a bit different than last time. so please submit your nominations in. a vote thread will be up in the next few days. there will also be a formal event coming very soon, so keep your eye out for that. keep being cool!
we're currently about to host calamity's first contest in slatepor. trainers are flocking to the city to see, the city's been trying to get good pr since the gala, and it seems to be working! they're asking for both coordinators and volunteer judges to sign up.

Usa strutted through the streets of Petalburg, humming and snapping his fingers to a tune that was playing in his head. It wasn't that long ago that he was in the city for the first time. But, not long ago seemed like ages ago to him. Perhaps it was all the things he experienced since being in Petalburg that made the difference. He probably was a completely different person now compared to back then. This was probably why he was so uncharacteristically cheerful and peppy.
Sensing her trainers good mood, Dani released herself from her pokeball. She fluttering around Usa for a while, but eventually perched atop his head. Her unexpected appearance didn't bother Usa as much as it did. This was perhaps the biggest show of change in the young ranger's personality. Almost as if her appearance was expected, he started to whistle as he walked with a bit of a pep in his step.

The week has not been kind. Petalburg welcomes her with open arms, and she neglects its kindness with her foul mood. Set back, this far? The Silph girl can only be eons ahead by now. Every step is a challenge- what's the point? Her emotions bounce from determined to hopeless- she can only assume its some sort of side effect from the inevitable concussion received only yesterday. Issued rest, Anastasia would do anything but. She doesn't have time to waste, despite Darby's disapproval.
Her train of thought is cut off as quickly as her next step. She's forced to stop short at the whistle, tawny eyes glaring as they shoot up, icy, to the stranger that interrupts. "Excuse you," it's almost a growl-- her manners escape her. The stress of the past 48 hours bubbles into anger, her age shows in a pathetic tantrum. "All of you fucking bystanders are the same. Do you ever watch where you're going? Did someone pay you to get in the way? Honestly, do you have any idea how much I matter? I'm a fucking Volkov, for god's sake." Her cheeks flush red as she throws her fit, voice raising, attracting negative attention for the second time in the week. Poor Usa would likely have no idea of her origin- her family has been overrun, those dirty Silphs are relentless, and she's ready to tell the world. In a swift, yet sloppy motion a pokeball shoots from her fingers like a flare. She's not going to give him time to reason, nor is she going to give herself time to be rational.

Taken aback by the stranger's sudden outburst, Usa stood dumbfounded as he tried to figure if her comments were directed at him. "They obviously are," he concluded. But, out of pure shock, he couldn't muster a response.
His right brow twitched as the reality of what was happening sank in. Nostrils flaring, he gave the stranger a piercing look of disgust. "What is it with people around here?" he thought, "First that guy in the forest and now this person? A bunch of rude weirdos, the lot of them." The angry glare he gave, made his thoughts most apparent. If it was one thing Usa could not stand, it was a rude person. And, this stranger, with all her comments, was getting on his last nerve.
His left thumb fully extended and pointing to his chest for emphasis, he retorted: "Volkov, you say? Well, Ms. Volkov, I'm a Keji. And Kejis, especially this one, don't put up with people's bullshit. So, take a step back and calm your ass down."
But, she didn't. Instead, she called out a Pokemon.
"The nerve of this person," he grumbled under his breathe. "Fine. A battle you want? A battle you damn well get." He threw his right hand up to point in the direction of the stranger and her Pokemon. "Use supersonic, and then follow up with a wing attack."

Dani knew instantly that Usa meant her when he barked his command. Though she didn't take too kindly to his tone, she let it slide this time. And they were having such a nice time too...
Before she could even follow through with her attacks, she was hit by the opposing poison-types attack. The attack gave her such a frightening sensation that she felt the muscles in her wings go numb. Still, she pushed through and carried out Usa's commands.

It would appear that her opponent is stronger than she anticipated, to her chagrin. Anastasia only feels her cheeks grow warmer- she can't even utter the word dodge before the zubat knows ghengis off his feet with one attack. She's sloppy, careless in her frustration. But she can't back down, not when she's already gotten herself into this mess. Anger still boils her blood, a second pokemon replaces the first. her silence bellows her thoughts, her expression is obviously one that ackowledges how screwed it is- yet she remains.
"Augustus, ice beam, twice!" she chirps, voice cracking under the pressure. What a disaster. God knows how long she'll have to hide after this little blotch on her trainer history. The krabby hesitates- it knows it's outmatched, but he will not refuse his trainer. After all, wasn't it his job to battle for her? In the end, it wasn't so bad. He releases his two icy blasts, and then braces for the worst.
