389 | Blue eyes blinked rapidly at the...penguin? ... in front of her. It blinked back with equally wide eyes. "Oh hmm....it's cute." And that's when she was informed that it was in fact a boy. The raven-haired teen tilted her head from side-to-side, assessing the situation. Her mother had hurriedly pushed her out the door after her cousin. Well, said cousin had actually already set down the road with her own Pokemon. Sure there were Pokemon in Kanto, her native region. Actually probably just as much, but growing up in the big city of Saffron, she had not had much exposure to them. There had been the occasional Ratatas in the alleyway and Growlithes running amuck after Meowth. City Pokemon, but this one was definitely new AJ. "So, I just take him, right?" she whispered, probably too low for the professor to hear. She was answered with an affirmative. She took the red-and-white sphere into her hand and held it out, her delicate digits trembling ever so slightly. She flinched visibly as the red beam of light shot out, capturing the tiny creature, beaming him back into the Pokeball. She gave the contraception a tentative look before nodding her thanks to the rather young scientist before twisting around and strolling back the way she came. The door slid open to reveal the new, tiny town that she was currently residing. Actually, would she technically be residing there now? Her cousin had just left and she was only 11. Her mother had acted like it was no big deal. Once again, trainers and taking journeys was a thing in Kanto, but it had been her thing. Nope, she had been in music lessons and living the life of a normal teenager. Or actually, was she the weird one since she was just now getting her first Pokemon where as others had gotten there own at the budding age of 10? AJ shook her head, untangling herself from her muddled thoughts. She threw one last glance down at the ball in her hand, minimized it to almost microscopic and shoved it in the pocket of her hoodie and strolled through the grass. Grass, who knew such a thing existed? The blue sky above, the trees swaying back and forth in the gentle breeze. Yes, she was in a totally different world. Avery Joel Cipriano |
