the pokemon listened to the excited girl, a small smile forming on her lips as she noticed her eagerness to share such information. she understood the woman, but, after a moment of consideration, she looked away. furfrou appeared to struggle to respond at first. it was becoming all-too clear why the woman bothered to speak to her at all. it was because of her species, which made perfect sense. now, furfrou was beautiful - arrogant - dominant -
- but she wasn't simple.
"fur."
her gaze shifted toward the woman.
"fur."
she shook her head.
the wild furfrou appears to have refused bunny's offer! move on or continue to reason with the pokemon?
[attr="class","agar"]Bunny felt her heart drop into her stomach as the Furfrou looked away. She felt like she was so close to befriending it, but something turned it away. She wracked through her brain over and over to try and figure out what she had said wrong, how something could've upset the pokémon, but nothing came up until —
"Oh."
She shook her head to herself, rubbing her temples in embarrassment. "I'm so sorry," she said to the Furfrou. "I didn't mean to act like that. You're not an object or simply a means to winning a trophy, you're a living, breathing pokémon. You have feelings and thoughts like the rest of us, it wasn't right of me to see you in such a shallow light."
She looked back up to the Furfrou, offering a timid smile. "I know that was wrong, and I really am sorry, but I would love to have you on my team. If you'd rather not, that's cool too. You've got a life of your own here, and you seem to be adapting extremely well." She chuckled a little to herself, looking down to Diana and Sophie by her feet. "It's your decision, not mine."
furfrou was taken aback by the apology. she listened carefully to the girl's words and considered her words. satisfied that the human had given her the option to accept or refuse, a small smile formed on her muzzle. she released a small bark, moving to lick her face in a gesture of affection.
"fur!"
pressing closer, she decided that she had taken a liking to the human girl. she would be nice to have around. so why not just join?
the wild furfrou appears to have taken a liking to bunny! the wild furfrou appears to want to go along with her!
[attr="class","agar"]She wasn't gonna lie, she was extremely relieved that the Furfrou had decided to join her. Bunny giggled and lightly brushed her fingers through the pokémon's fur, careful to not mess it up. "This will be the best decision of your life, I promise!" she said, beginning to grin wildly.
After a few more moments Bunny pressed on through the forest, feeling happy and relaxed as the trees moved silently with the wind above. The sun was hitting it's apex, allowing Petalburg Woods to shine with a bright jade hue as the sunlight filtered through its many leaves. It was a refreshing change from the beach, though admittedly she still liked the beach a little more.
Diana, Sophie, and the newly-dubbed Fiona the Furfrou trotted (or slithered? in Diana's case) beside their trainer, avidly conversing with each other among barks, pips, and "tini!"s. Bunny found her grin only widening as their search for more pokémon continued.
bunny accepts the furfrou! bunny continues her search! (aggressive pokémon, maybe?)
something stood in the girl's path. at first, it appeared to be naught more than a still object in the distance. but as she neared, it revealed itself to be nothing of the sort. a feline creature composed of curled fur and violet eyes was staring directly at her.
it stared.
and stared.
its gaze shifted toward its feet, revealing a collection of lifeless pokemon that were gathered. its gaze shifted toward the girl and her pokemon.
a small smile form.
it did not move.
a wild espurr appeared! it appears to have taken a liking t͔̩̩͎̰̤͉͡o ̰b̸̜̩̺̥̼͈u̮̖̕n̘͉͇̻͠ͅn͓̘y̮͖̮͝!
[attr="class","agar"]Bunny curiously walked towards the object in her path, wondering just what in the world it could be. A curious rock formation? Maybe a tiny tree stump? But as she approached, she saw a pokémon — and another familiar one, at that.
Espurr were fairly popular in Kalos, but Bunny couldn't really understand why. Truth be told... she always found them kind of creepy. Something about the blankness of their face and their eyes.... She wasn't the only one though, right?
Bunny stopped as she looked at the tiny (cat?) pokémon, smiling slowly and somewhat awkwardly.
It stared.
That had to be her least favorite part about the species. It glanced down.
Her eyes awkwardly drifted to the Espurr's feet, her heart starting to thump wildly in her chest as she saw the mound of unmoving pokémon. She hoped desperately that they were asleep.
"U-um," she mumbled awkwardly as the Espurr stared blankly up at her again. It smiled.
Okay, okay, that was creepy. That was really creepy. Okay.
Her breath began to come in uneven huffs, and Bunny began to look around wildly for something else to look at. "U-u-uh-uhm, d-do you think you co-o-uld um, m-maybe, um...." but the rest of the sentence wouldn't fall out of her mouth. She looked at the Espurr again.
It was still staring. And smiling.
The pokémon beside Bunny were stiff, Diana rigid as a rock and Sophie had her hooves dug into the dirt as if prepared to be hit by something. Fiona's head was ducked lowly, a low growl from her throat growing into a harsh, loud bark. Bunny jumped, her heart so loud she could feel the blood rushing behind her ears.
there was a slight ripple - a light brushing against the minds of all present. the espurr remained idle, its gaze failing to waver from the frightened human.
such a ... lovely human.
the voice detected by all was notably raspy. a thin, choking whisper that lacked emotion. the creature casually tugged off the tail of a felled rattata. it nibbled upon the flesh, its gaze continuing to cling onto bunny.
such a... lovely girl.
its smile widened until it revealed teeth.
it looked wrong.
i will... take your skin. i will devour your eyes.
it ap pe ars to h ave taken a liking t͔̩̩͎̰̤͉͡o ̰b̸̜̩̺̥̼͈u̮̖̕n̘͉͇̻͠ͅn͓̘y̮͖̮͝!
This was like something from a horror movie. Bunny closed her eyes, covering them and seizing up as Fiona began to bark wildly, her other pokémon not responding. The coordinator shuffled through her bag one-handed, pulling out the first thing she could and throwing it at the Espurr.
She opened her eyes slightly to see if it was hit, and then gasped.
Bunny had thrown a pokéball.
This wasn't good this wasn't good this wasn't good this wasn't good this wasn't good this wasn't good this wasn't good this wasn't good this wasn't good this wasn't good this wasn't good this wasn't good this wasn't good this wasn't good this wasn't good this wasn't good this wasn't good this wasn't good this wasn't good this wasn't good this wasn't good this wasn't good this wasn't good this wasn't good this wasn't good this wasn't good this wasn't good this wasn't good this wasn't good this wasn't good fuck.
espurr caught the pokeball. it was an easy catch due to the sloppy throw. it continued to stare at the frightened girl, delighting in her horrified state.
amusing.
the words were directed toward bunny. meant to be whispered and left to curdle within her mind. espurr moved a paw to trigger the capture mechanism, its gaze never leaving the girls as it preformed this action and was gobbled up by the device.
the capsule wiggled once.
twice.
it went still.

[attr="class","agar"]Anyone walking near Petalburg Woods probably thought somebody was being murdered — and they weren't all that far off. Bunny turned away from the pokéball after it clicked to let her know the Espurr was caught. She began to sprint towards the entrance of the forest, her pokémon following closely behind. Diana ended up slithering faster than she ever had before, Sophie looked wide-eyed with horror, and Fiona wouldn't stop barking.
But back at the pokéball, it began to flicker out of existence. Bunny forgot the automated PC system.
