[attr="class","mv1"]odale town was just a route away from petalburg city so it had not been a problem for him to take a day trip back there. he had gotten bored of petalburg after spending so much time seeing everything there was to offer. he thought about challenging the gym but he was nowhere near as strong as he wanted to be to fight the leader. other than going to the beach and seeing the city there was nothing for him to do. so instead of wandering around aimlessly, he decided to take a quick trip back to odale to see what it had to offer.
they had not spent that much time in the town when they went through it the first time. sadly there wasn't much to offer like petalburg and evan only found himself spending an hour at most wandering around before he moved on. route 101 had not been a bad place for him. it was where he met new people and got a new pokemon. it had been one of the better places for him of his journey and a place he would remember fondly.
he was still traveling on the path and he was sure he was halfway through route 101 back to littleroot town. he didn't want to get too far and have to spend the night at a hotel. the waste of money would be horrible and he wouldn't hear the end of it from noah. it was spontaneous of him to suddenly retrace his steps so far and if worst comes to worst, he would end up sleeping outside for the night. that would be fun.

This place was just so boring! Apart from the sparing Pokemon battles, there was nothing to keep Iggy on this damn route. He needed to get somewhere with more people. He wanted to party, badly. Hook up, make friends, have a good time. The small town life was really just not for him. If Iggy was ever stuck in a place like Littleroot, he would not survive long. [break][break] Groaning internally (and externally, though quieter) Iggy was trudging his way through the forest paths of Route 101. It was taking him much longer than he would like to get through it. There weren't many people, so battling was pretty much out of the question--let alone some more fun things he could think of. His Staryu was cooped up in its pokeball for now, and Iggy really just wanted to breeze through this route. There wasn't even anywhere to swim here. [break][break] It was midafternoon by the time Iggy saw another human. The guy was going the wrong way, though. Why in the world would you want to go back to Littleroot town--or, hell, even back to the first route. It just confused Iggy so much. Once they got closer, Iggy realized he was pretty... pretty. He threw a wink at the guy once they got close enough that could talk, "Hey, man." Iggy wouldn't bring up the fact that the stranger was going the wrong way--he wasn't that rude. Maybe he was just taking a stroll, anyway, and would end up going the right way. If that were the case, Iggy might have some company. Company would make this boredom so much more bearable.

[attr="class","nv3"] Ignazio Acquarone AFTER SPENDING YEARS IN THE CBOX I FINALLY POSTED ALSO EVAN IS CONFUSED!
[attr="class","mv"]
[attr="class","mv1"]route 101 had its fair share of trainers roaming around between littleroot and odale. some were looking for a battle while some were just looking to chat. while he had not ran into anyone yet on the path, he wasn't opposed to meeting someone new. so far hoenn had its fair share of friendly people and it was actually surprising. glancing up evan saw someone come up in front of him and moved over to give the person some room.
but after getting a quick look at his face, he paused and stared at the male who was coming up the path. he looked strangely familiar, too familiar in fact. not even a year ago he had met and befriended someone who looked exactly like him. it was too much to ask if they were the same people but it wouldn't be impossible... evan walked a little closer and kept his eyes on the male coming up and was about to ask if it was really his friend when the guy winked. it threw him off a fair bit and he stopped to blink in confusion. "wait what?" it wasn't his friend at all. he almost laughed at how they almost resembled each other. but he was sure alistair would have never winked at him or even spoken in the first place considering the male had been mute.
"oh hey..." he wasn't sure why the other trainer had suddenly spoken up to him but he wasn't bothered by it. trainers around here were always looking for a battle or just to even talk. it was the same place he had met miles too. "headed to odale town? you're not too far from it now."

Yesss, the cutie wanted to talk. Smirking when the other man stopped at the side of the path, Iggy happily slowed to a stop right in front of him. He was probably standing uncomfortably close for a stranger, but when Iggy saw someone pretty, he went for it. "Oldale, huh? Maybe you could show me the way." I don't know how he did it, but Iggy put so much suggestion into such innocent words that his motives would be pretty easily discernible. Hopefully the guy wouldn't be too put off and Iggy would at the very least get some company. Anything would be relief for the monotony of this place. [break][break] The way the stranger had responded to a simple greeting slightly confused Iggy. Was something wrong? Had he simply not expected a conversation? Hearing loss? What was it? Iggy didn't put too much thought into it, feeling apathetic toward whatever was going on with the man. He had probably just been distracted with his own thoughts anyway. They were very definitely strangers, and Iggy had no recollection of this guy. Any resemblance to other persons was purely coincidental.

[attr="class","mv"]
[attr="class","mv1"]evan paused and wondered why the man had stopped to speak with him. it wasn't that he had a problem with it. everyone in hoenn just seemed a lot friendlier than anywhere else he has been. he watched as the man stopped in front of him before stepping a little too close for comfort. he looked up in confusion and listened as the male suggested that he showed him the way to odale. oh. ohhhhhh... evan had his fair share of people flirting with him and it wasn't like he was bothered by it. sometimes he found it flattering but other times he really didn't know how to respond. this was one of those times.
taking a step back so there was a least some space between them, evan looked down the path and back to the the male. it was obvious what the man was implying and while he was flattered, he wasn't interested. "i could show you the way." evan began and looked up at the sky. it was getting late into the afternoon so he should probably head back if he wanted to get back to petalburg. since they were going in the same direction, he saw no problem traveling back with the other male. that is if they only traveled back. "as long as that's the only thing we do." he finished and rose an eyebrow in question at the other.
"so did you just come from littleroot?" evan turned and waited for the other to follow before he started moving. a lot of trainers always started in littleroot so he could only guess the man had just gotten his started and was on his way out of the small town.

Iggy wasn't always the best at taking hints. Hell, he was terrible at it, and it usually took at least bluntness (and quite often more than that) to turn him off a target. Despite physical cues, Iggy initially thought the guy was interested in what was being suggested. The apparent hesitance only meant to Iggy that more effort needed to be made. The words, however, more or less got through. He had been smirking at the promise of a good time, but the expression fell away when that was denied. Come on, Acquarone, don't look so disheartened with the cute guy. [break][break] "Heh, yeah, 'course." Iggy did his best not to look overly disappointed. He knew he would get bored again soon, but at least it wouldn't be as bad with someone to talk to. He would just have to find someone to spend the night with in Oldale. A smile was pasted on, and hopefully covering up the lack of excitement. Keeping up appearances was Iggy's thing; he didn't like showing people his real self--whatever that was--especially if he had to interact with them more than once. He happily followed, though likely too closely, "Yeah. It was a... 'cute' little place. What about yourself?"

[attr="class","mv1"]evan could see the male's expression fall when he gave the hint that he wasn't interested. he didn't mean to dishearten the man that much. but still he was sure he knew what the words implied and while it was flattering, he wasn't interested in the man's subtle offer. but he had no qualms about heading back with the man since they were going in the same direction. it was a questionable introduction but he wasn't entirely put off by the male...that much.
as they walked down the path toward odale, evan could see that the other was following rather closely behind him. the guy was persistent he would give him that. he listened as the other described littleroot being cute and couldn't help but agree. it was a small town and didn't have much going for it except the pokemon lab. it was a stereotypical small town where one would pass by to pick up things before moving onto the bigger city. other than that it was rather boring. "i traveled back here from petalburg to see the sights again. i was just about to head back when i ran into you."
he looked back at the other and gave him a sympathetic smile. "sorry to say that odale isn't much better. you probably won't run into anything too exciting until you reach petalburg." the first two towns really didn't have much to offer. since petalburg was an actual city, it had more to do besides wandering around old towns and looking at houses and trees.

'Cute' had not been used as a positive adjective. Iggy had hated Littleroot. It was too small, too rural, too dead. He couldn't wait to get somewhere lively. There had to be a rave scene somewhere in this region. What was the most urban city? Ugh, Iggy didn't know anything about the cities, and probably wouldn't until he got somewhere bigger. And now that prospect seemed even further away. Oldale wasn't much different from Littleroot? Looks like Iggy would get there and leave immediately. Hopefully this Petalburg would supply him with something. "Sounds dull. Iggy was trying his best not to sound rude around the stranger; didn't want to put him off more than he already had. [break][break] "I'm sure I could come up with a thing or two to make them more... memorable." Walking next to his new 'friend', Iggy couldn't help himself. Littleroot was boring. Oldale was going to be boring. Walking was boring. He even gave an eyebrow waggle to emphasize his meaning. Sure, the guy had said he wasn't interested, but maybe he just didn't understand what Iggy had been offering. Maybe Iggy just had to clarify things and push a little more. Surely some spice in his small town times would be welcome. Why wouldn't it?

[attr="class","mv1"]so far the trip back wasn't turning out too bad from what he had expected. the man he had met was a rather interesting person but he was not too put off by him all that much. yeah he may have been looking for something evan wasn't offering but it wouldn't be the first time this happened. evan was told all the time that he was too nice for his own good and he supposed people were right. he just didn't see the point in keeping people at a distance. "yeah you can say that. my friend and i haven't traveled out much since we reached petalburg but the beach there is something to see...if you're not tired of seeing all the water around hoenn already." he already said it and he will say it again, hoenn had too much water.
he glanced over and saw the way the male finally caught up to walk beside him and slowed his pace to show he wasn't walking ahead to avoid him. at the man's next statement, evan glanced over and rose an eyebrow at the male. oh he thought he had disheartened the guy. "i'm sure you can come up with a few ideas to keep yourself entertained." he started slowly and turned his gaze forward again. "what is your idea of a memorable anyway? are you looking for something fun to do? traveling?" or someone... but evan kept the thought to himself. he probably knew the answer to his question. "striving toward any goal?"

Oh, how he wounds me! Iggy caught the deflection all too well. The finality that whatever Iggy had in mind would not be shared with this guy finally sunk in--at least a little bit. The problem with being nice to Iggy was that he saw it as some sort of interest rather than courtesy. People who didn't like being rude had trouble getting Iggy to stop his pursuits; letting him down gently wasn't really a thing that was possible. As Iggy saw it, his companion had only caught on to one thing he was offering. He had, of course, a couple more. [break][break] "Oh, I have a couple ideas." Iggy smiled over and winked, then offered his hand, "I'm Iggy by the way." If the other man shook his hand, he would find a tablet wrapped in a little baggie. Rather than explain his 'ideas' verbally, Iggy apparently thought it better to go with the show-and-tell method. I'm sure they could find a quiet corner in Oldale to 'enjoy' themselves. Iggy also thought the drugs would loosen his friend up enough to go for his original offer. This also served as a distraction from the topic of conversation, 'what are your goals', etc. It wasn't something Iggy thought about much, and he squashed down the awareness that he was evading the questions.

[attr="class","mv1"]if the people who knew him could see him now, they would most likely call him an idiot. evan wasn't dumb and wasn't hard to notice what the guy was hinting at. but the thing is, evan was too nice for his own good. he had a temper; he was emotional, pissy when he was angry, and didn't know how to be mean unless he was irritated. he dropped hints at the guy, trying to dissuade him from any hint of what he was suggesting they do. but he shouldn't have dropped hints. he should have just said that no outright.
evan looked over when the guy offered his hand and introduced himself. sure he could still see the hints of flirting but it wasn't anything that made him feel uncomfortable. reaching out his hand, evan smiled and nodded while shaking his hand. "you can call me evan..." he trailed off when he noticed something was placed in his hand. pulling away, he looked down to see a small baggie with an unfamiliar tablet placed inside. he squinted for a second, not understand why he was given such a thing, when it suddenly clicked what exactly he was holding. "what?"
he stared dumbly down at the drug in his hand for a few more seconds and slowly looked up. "no no no take this back!" he quickly grabbed iggy's hand and shoved it into his palm. he didn't know where the male got it and he didn't want to know. he just didn't want to be linked with whatever this man was doing. "i'm not...i don't do that kind of thing man." yeah if anyone who knew him saw him now, they would say evan was an idiot.

Sometimes even saying "no" outright wasn't enough to turn Iggy away. Sometimes when he heard that, it came across as "try harder". It was absolutely no fault of the other party's, especially when they were being perfectly clear with their disinterest. Iggy just had a hard time understanding when people didn't want what he did. It wasn't a good trait in the least, but Iggy didn't realize that; he just wanted to have fun, and projected that onto anyone he thought would be good to have fun with. [break][break] When the baggie was pressed back into Iggy's hand, he pushed right back. It wasn't much, and nothing threatening. With how little Evan wanted the drugs, he likely wouldn't even notice Iggy trying to keep it in the other's possession. He leaned in, voice quieting some, "Come on, you don't even want to try some? 'Experiment' a little?" Iggy knew they would both enjoy the experience if only Evan would agree to it already. The pills would lighten him up, the pair would be laughing within minutes. Iggy would push another matter to get what else he wanted out of Evan. He would make sure the guy enjoyed their time together--if only he would stop resisting.

[attr="class","mv1"]how did he find himself in these situations? didn't this guy take no for an answer? he was pretty sure that he said no yet this guy was persistent on getting him to have his version of a good time. he could handle the flirting, just ignore it and look disinterested. but this...he couldn't deal with. he didn't know where the man got the drugs nor did he care. however he did not want to be linked with whatever dealings iggy had. was this even legal?
as he pushed the baggie back into iggy's hands, he felt the other push right back. not giving up, evan continued to press the baggie right back into his hold with a glare. why was this guy so persistent? "no i don't." he did not want to try even a little bit. he wasn't dumb and he knew what this 'experiment' would lead to even if he tried a little. no he was not getting roofied or high so this guy could do whatever he wanted. he had never done drugs in his life and he was not about to start today. The realization came slowly. Evan had been nothing but adamant about denying Iggy some company, but the message was just not getting across. Iggy was of the mind that people liked to play a little before an encounter, say 'no' once or twice, but ultimately go with him. It was likely the circles Iggy had been part of in the past, mainly made of people who were always interested in sex and drugs and were always hitting up everyone else and going to parties. Hoenn did not seem to have that scene. [break][break] The bag of drugs was finally taken back, Iggy's grip on Evan loosing. That last refusal--the glare, the unyielding push back, the repeated 'no'--was enough to break through Iggy's hard head. What came next was the impulse to lash out. Any anger was quickly stifled, though there was a brief pause in the conversation. "The people I ask always seem to want it." It was a glib comeback to avoid the truth of Iggy's interactions with others. He did not like sharing personal details, and with Evan not interested in what Iggy had to offer there was no reason to stick around. "See ya 'round." There was a smirk and a wink and Iggy walked off at a leisurely pace. The bag had been stuffed into his pocket, but it was clear he was going off to get high and probably continue to make other bad decisions.

[attr="class","mv1"]this had to be a joke. maybe the guy was messing with him and was bluffing. there was no way that the man before him was offering him drugs and trying to get him high so they could have a good time. what if he was an undercover cop and was searching for criminals on the route?
...
that was a bit of a stretch but the lesson is that iggy didn't know who he was. he could have went and told the cops on him, stole the drugs off of him, or done something crazy. evan was just baffled at the nonchalance that was given during the entire encounter. slowly the grip on the bag was loosened and iggy took back the drugs. evan sighed in relief adn watched as the man defended himself and then took his leave. he squinted at the wink and stood still as the other walked away, pocketing the drugs as if it was just candy he got from the store.
evan stood for a second before walking to catch up with iggy. he didn't know why. maybe he didn't want the man getting someone new who didn't understand that he was handing out drugs? maybe he just wanted the man to stay out of trouble. evan didn't understand why he felt he needed to take responsibility. he could just leave and let the man do whatever. but no...instead he was running up to walk next to the other male as if he had to watch over him. "what are you going to do now?" he asked and looked over to stare at the male, going from the pocket where he had the drugs to his face. "please don't tell me you are going to get high somewhere?"
