the male started the show off with an explosive display. andrea observed as the molten bits of hot material was spewed forth. and said nothing as her pokemon was thrown backward due to the force of impact. but, eventually, he corrected his posturing and settled himself upon those short legs. his thick tail swayed, his beady eyes glittering with anticipation as he awaited his mistress's command.
"keep that leer goin'!" she urged.
the girl had a plan. clever tactics would lead to success. but she wasn't entirely sure on how to go about this. both parties appear to be equally matched in some way shape or form. and it didn't leave her all-too sure of herself.
"sand!"
the ground-type continued to glare intensely at the canine, a quiet growl escaping him as he focused upon the young beast. the sandile was somewhat intrigued by the fellow male - impressed so far by his howl and his bold display. the houndour appeared to ooze with confidence.
If it had been you that he beat to a bloody pulp, if he had taken you from this world, I would've done nothing but search the planet for this pathetic pile of evil death-worshiping garbage and sent him off to hell.

What was her aim here? She wasn't actually making any moves? She wasn't giving the man any offensive pressure. Yes, her sandile was leering the entire time, and that would make it's normally useless bite all the more potent, but if she waited long enough then that was it - game over, good game. He took in a deep breath and weighed his options. On one hand he could stay back and have houndour howl. That would make his fire fangs far more potent, perhaps even to a point of knocking this sandile out. On the other hand, Pressuring her to attack and make a mistake could be far more advantageous for the masked man and his houndour.
Houndour on the other hand was getting frustrated, angry almost, at all of the leering the sandile was doing. He was getting restless, and was almost ready to make a mistake. "Houndour, relax!" Houndour heard his master, but couldn't help the feelings that were swirling inside. He wanted to win, yes, but even more than that - He wanted to stop all of the leering. The low growl was something he picked up far more easily. The red, beady eyes staring at him made his fur stand on end. He nearly rushed forward before Jeremy snapped back again. "I said relax!" Houndour looked back before nodding. "We won't win if you don't keep your head level..."
The command rang true for the pup and he started to calm, but that didn't mean he wasn't going to indulge in the small houndours wishes. "Leap into the trees, use the shadows to blend in and when you get close, Fire fang!" The houndour yipped and leaped into the foliage, the shadows created by the branches helping to conceal the dark pokemon from sight. It worked on Jeremy, a humans eyes only going so far but for another pokemon? And a reptile at that, it was hard to say if it would work but it only took moments for the houndour to reach it's target - leaping from the shadows, flames bursting from it's mouth He aimed his jaws for the side of the sandile, away from it's own massive jaw. "Again, regardless of the outcome! Chase it down!" Jeremy commanded, his eyes watching closely for any sign of a chance to strike.
andrea's and ferra's gaze darted about as they tracked the houndoom's motions. but just barely. eventually, the creature faded into the surrounding shadows, the hound likely wielding his nature as a dark-type to sink into the darkness and blend into the background with ease.
"sand?"
the stout ground-type appeared to be somewhat unnerved by the swift movement.
"shit. the fucking dog's fast. gotta figure this out."
nibbling at her lip, she released a sharp gasp as the houndour lunged forward - bursting from no where, almost.
"move, kroc! move! move!"
obeying in a hurry, the creature worked his small legs. he wasn't fast, but, he managed to avoid the attempt just barely. he felt a terrible heat beginning to approach him, and andrea's lips curled as she noticed that the houndour intended to ruthlessly chase after the vulnerable reptile. the pokemon managed to just barely keep out of reach as he proceeded to sway and duck.
"leer! leer!"
she shouted, stubbornly keeping up with her previous plan of action. wielding their close proximity to his favor, the pokemon's gaze grew even more intense as he continued to glare at the creature with his beady eyes.
If it had been you that he beat to a bloody pulp, if he had taken you from this world, I would've done nothing but search the planet for this pathetic pile of evil death-worshiping garbage and sent him off to hell.

This was getting interesting. The first Fire Fang had missed, but the second one did the job. It was impressive that the little sandile was able to move as quickly as it was, but even more impressive was the girls quickness to react. Jeremy wasn't worried however. How much longer could the sandile keep up those quick moves? He'd wager not very long after taking enough damage, added to that was the fact that Jeremy wouldn't simply let up any pressure. He was sure that another direct hit would seal up this magic, and with that he knew that letting her go, even for another turn, would be the end of the battle. "Houndour, quickly create distance and Ember!" Houndour yipped, having taken no damage thus far he moved around freely and once enough distance was created, the small dog shot forth a blaze of fire.
"We can't stop there!" The houndour nodded, slowly prowling his prey. His movements were slower than before, but he was still alert. He was in the zone, one could say, ready for whatever the other pokemon did. "Ember once more!" Jeremy shouted, the houndour darting off to the side and shooting yet another blaze of fire right for the reptile. Jeremy wasn't sure what the other trainer would do, He hoped that the embers would be enough, but he wasn't banking on it. He knew, that if he let his guard down, one bite from those jaws would be enough to do in his pokemon.
Min of 69.5% damage dealt ● andrea warren ● -6 Def. 100% bite
the sandile could execute one dodge effectively, but, unfortunately, the next collection of hot bits of magma connected. eyes squeezing shut, the sandile released a low pained growl before eventually succumbed to his collection of injuries. andrea bit down onto her thumb and released a small shriek as she realized just how close she had come to winning.
"fuck!"
she returned her sandile into his capsule, scowling as she minimized the pokeball and tucked it away within her pack.
"holy shit, yer houndour's a beast. didn't know it could move so fast, yeah?"
a smile eventually returned to her face as she took the time to calm down. ferra rushed forward to fawn over the male, her barks alerting the two humans to her excitement and delight. she moved to offer the fire-type an affectionate lick, tail waggling all the while.
"guess that's all she wrote, then," andrea said, shrugging.
with a chuckle, she moved toward red and offered him a friendly slap to the shoulder.
If it had been you that he beat to a bloody pulp, if he had taken you from this world, I would've done nothing but search the planet for this pathetic pile of evil death-worshiping garbage and sent him off to hell.

That was it then. Jeremy took in a deep breath while his lips closed and even though hidden behind the mask - they had been pursed open for quite some time as he watched in on the battle. His eyes shut, and he let out a small chuckle. Houndour, though victorious was in some hot water. Had that sandile landed even a single attack, that would of been the end of the line. The two of them had gone back and forth, and luckily Jeremy was right in that he needed to keep the pressure high, His head turned toward the girl, laughing to himself. "Too true. He had a lot to fight for though..." His head then turned toward the small Poocheyena that had made her way over to the group.
Houndour winced, though barked affectionately in return to the lick that was offered. "You earned it." Jeremy teased before the girl speaking brought him back to the conversations t hand. "You did well though. Honestly had you attacked before that last ember, who knows what would have happened." He said before leaning down and running his hand against the houndour. Once more his attention being brought back to the girl. "Oh, I have no doubt about that." Jeremy was sure that the two of them would meet again. Perhaps not as Red and Andrea, or perhaps on different sides, but he was sure of it.
"I'm not sure what you plan on doing, but houndour and I had better be off." He said before standing straight up. "It was a pleasure meeting you Andrea..." He said offering her his hand. "Hopefully we'll see one another soon." Even if she hadn't taken his hand, he would wait for a few moments before turning and walking off. Houndour, reluctantly trotting along looked back once more before finally catching up to his trainer.
