BATTLE GUIDE
▼
A FEW THINGS TO FOLLOW
▼
xx. no godmodding/powerplaying. you are not invincible. you will lose some battles. please be fair in battles.
xx. we go by a freeform battle system. so no calculations, no percentages. everything is up to the poster to decide.
xx. you are allowed two moves per post. if you have two pokemon attacking one pokemon, they are only allowed to attack once each. if it's a double battle, they can use two moves each.
xx. switches counts as a move, regardless of whether the opponent's pokemon has fainted or not.
xx. using 2 evasion moves in a battle, such as sand-attack or sweet scent, adds 1 dodge to your count.
xx. you have two dodges to use per pokemon. however you may only use one dodge per post. moves such as protect and detect count as a dodge, but having these moves increase your dodges to 3.
xx. please take status effects into consideration. if a pokemon is paralyzed please know that it might not be able to attack every time. we leave it up to you to use your best judgement and decide.
xx. one hit KO moves are banned. if you use one, such as sheer cold, then they have to be weakened. note this in your post if you are doing this.
xx. remember to always be fair! if you have a problem with the other person's post please talk to them in private about it. if both of you cannot come to terms then please contact staff.

LEVELING UP
▼
xx. your pokemon gets 2 levels per battle with a pokemon that is within 4 levels from yours. so if you have a level 10 magikarp, it would gain 2 levels for defeating a pokemon between 6-14 levels.
xx. if the level difference goes over 5, you subtract the levels then divide by two. if it ends with .5 you round up.
ex. your level 10 magikarp beats a level 20 gyarados, it will get 5 levels. the calculation used is:
20 - 10 = 10
10 / 2 = 5
your pokemon would gain 5 levels.
xx. if you use more than one pokemon to battle, the differences will be added and divided by the number of levels.
ex. a level 10 bidoof and level 6 shuckle defeat a level 1 starmie, bidoof gets 1 level and shuckle gets 3 levels. levels can be distributed between both pokemon.
xx. if you defeat a pokemon that is more than 4 levels below yours, your pokemon gains only 1 level.
xx. you may also purchase rare candy from the shop using your pokedollars.
