Well yami figured he’d have to go catching more pokemon considering he wanted to beat the gym leader. As much as he loved Machiko and Sei…they were only two pokemon against a whole gym and there was no way he’d do that to his pokemon. Besides his pokemon needed to toughen up some or else even with more pokemon he’d lose in an instant his eyes drifted to the city for a moment and decided later on he’d buy a few rare candies to help strengthen them some. So that morning he’d set out with the mindset to attempt to catch a few more pokemon and hopefully some companions that would help him as a coordinator. He wasn’t exactly picky but all the same he had a particular taste and he could only hope that he’d be able to find some pokemon that he’d like although the two he had so far were turning out to own his heart not that he’d ever admit that to either Sei or Machiko. Although knowing his psychic connection with Sei the pokemon was probably well aware of that particular fact already.
When he reached the path that would lead him into the woods Yami paused for a moment, giving it a considering look as he tried to decide between the woods or the beach. Both of which would give him plenty of pokemon he could enjoy and would probably be of great help in his later days as a contestant in contests. So without further hesitation he walked down the path, veering off slightly towards the beach to try there first since he had no doubt there would be plenty of pokemon there. The beach on the other hand, who really knew what would be in store for him there so why not take his chance there first. He hummed softly as he walked, the tune a light and cheerful one as he relaxed under the rays of the sun. It was a pretty nice day after all and he figured maybe once he was done with it he’d go and relax by the water side. Who didn’t like a day at the beach…he could probably use it to bond with any pokemon he caught as well on top of it.
The meditite was unknowingly blocking the path of a passing trainer, hovering in the middle of two overgrown trees and sitting cross legged in the shade that the canopy provided. Everything about the pokemon was peace inducing- from its contemplative, calculated breathing, to its simple yet elegant form. And yet if there was one thing you learned about peace and wild pokemon- it was to never wake anything from its slumber.
meditite is meditating! what will trainer yami do?

If there was one thing Yami had not been expecting it was to come across a wild pokemon blocking his way. Granted he’d suspected he’d be coming across wild pokemon sooner or later but he definitely hadn’t thought he’d meet one so soon and in his path. He stopped a few feet away from it, contemplating what to do as he looked at the peaceful creature. It honestly made him a little weary and uncertain about proceeding. Sometimes pokemon reacted badly to being disturbed from their routine and honestly wild pokemon period tended to be unpredictable. His pokemon had two very different personalities which game enough proof to this so that was reason enough to be wary. He looked behind him and sighed, debating going back and just heading into the forest instead, there was shade there and no doubt pokemon would be plentiful. Yami continued this train of thought before he gave up, he might as well attempt to go on.
He’d been looking forward to spending time at the beach with his pokemon anyway so no harm no foul right? He just…had to be careful about how he approached this and make sure he didn’t startle the pokemon from its peaceful state. After taking a deep breath he closed the distance between he and the roadblock pokemon, stopping a little out of arms reach so that he wasn’t in the pokemon’s personal space. The brunette hesitated for just a moment before he spoke up as softly as he could but loud enough to be heard. “Um…excuse me…if you don’t mind could you just…scooch over a bit?” His eyes tried to find a way around the pokemon but it really wouldn’t be possible unless he put himself in a rather embarrassing position and he was in no way doing that. His eyes fell to the pokemon again and looked at it curiously, after a moment he took out his pokedex and scanned it. Huh, a meditite…that was pretty cool sounding. His eyes lingered on the pokemon for a moment.
It was simple to think of simple answers to simple questions, but meditation was different. It was s imple thing, yet it was made to obtain complex answers. Looking at a problem is not as simple as half full and hlaf empty. Complications...the meditite hummed, slightly, finally finding balance. Rage was hard to balance, especially when it came so easily. He had been meditating to control his tendency to destory everything he could see- meditating to keep the blasts of psychic waves to himself...When the human spoke, the meditite tried to ignore him to focus on balance. But it was impossible. His eyes flashed open, the first warning sign. And then a heap of disorganized, chaotic psychic energy found itself thrown in every direction, making a horrible screeching noise and painting the whole scene pink and yellow.
Meditite was truly, desperately sorry.
meditite uses confusion! x2 meditite cannot control itself!

Yami…really hadn’t known what to expect when he set out that day in search of pokemon to join his party. Heck he hadn’t really known what to expect when he’d tried to politely ask the pokemon if it would move out the way so that he could continue on his way. What he certainly hadn’t expected was to suddenly get attacked by the Meditite the moment it opened its eyes and looked at him. It had caught him completely off guard and that was probably the reason why he’d frozen when he could suddenly see the attack, confusion his quickly working mind called to the forefront of his thoughts. However, it was only a second after he froze that he let out a small noise of surprise and leaped out the way of the attacked. His eyes followed them as they kept going until they met with something and winced at the damage they caused, a little relieved he’d somehow managed to get out of the way of them in time after freezing like that. He’d honestly been seriously caught off guard by the attack considering how peaceful the pokemon looked, then again he had been wary before approaching it.
Huffing softly he got to his feet and brushed himself off, furrowing his eyebrows as he narrowed his eyes at the pokemon and grabbed one of his pokeballs. “I really had no intention of fighting you but…this is for both of our own good.” The murmur was soft but determined as he called out Machiko, the Glameow blinking when she was released from her pokeball and faced with this strange pokemon. Her ears twitched for a moment, head tilting curiously before her eyes caught sight of the damage in the area and she tensed. “Alright Machiko, seems as though we’re going to have to calm this guy down. You good to go.” Glancing at her human she let out a soft acknowledging purr and stood up, eyes set on the pokemon in front of her determinedly. “Let’s start off with Scratch and move in with Iron Tail.” She let out a growly ‘mrow’ of her name before sprinting forward, releasing her claws and swiping deadly claws at the Meditite before jumping back a little. Gathering power in her tail that she’d gained thanks to her human’s hard work she released on the pokemon. Twirling and whipping her powered up tail at the pokemon without hesitation.

The searing physicl pain was more than enough to distract him from the mental agony, and somehow it allowed him to focus on something, although the air around him was still chaotic, with surges of crazy psychic energy. The meditite decided to use the pain as basis for meditation, and breathed in and out as the attacks hit.
meditite uses bide! [2/3] meditite is hurt by both attacks! the aura of the battleground is growing intense!

Yami winced as each hit landed, watching as the Psychic pokemon seemed to take them and focus on them. He wondered mildly what exactly the pokemon was doing and a part of him felt marginally bad for fighting the Meditite when honestly all he had really wanted was to get past him. However, things were growing rather intense and there was no backing out of this now. It was do or die in this situation although probably not as dramatic as that and he’d made his choice the moment he’d called Machiko out. The feline pokemon stood braced only a few feet from him, her fur bristling menacingly as she glared at the other pokemon before them. Tiny needle point teeth bared angrily at the pokemon who had blocked her human’s path and had attacked him.
Sure even though it hadn’t exactly attacked again, Machiko’s twitching nose could smell the power coming from the pokemon in front of them and she refused to let down her guard around it. A low angry growl of her name as she took a single step forward was all Yami needed to know she was ready for another round against the meditite.
Taking a deep breath and calming his nerves as he braced himself against the little onslaught of guilt that was no doubt to plague him, Yami gave his next set of orders. “Go in with another round of Iron Tail and Scratch, Machiko. Don’t give him time to defend against it.” She made a soft noise of agreement before she was bolting forward, her lithe and slim body easily cutting across the ground as she gathered all the strength she could into her tail. Second before she made impact she twirled on her feet and aimed to smash her gleaming tail into the Meditite. Going in again with a swipe of her claws only moments after and dancing out of reach of the other pokemon in case the Meditite retaliated in some way shape or form but they had some hope.
But the meditite is no fool. He watches the attacks come again, in the same boring order as before, and he can almost see the predictable moves before they even happen. The meditite dances to the left, avoiding the clashing tail, but sadly being struck by the scratch. The time for rest is over. The meditite unleashed the stored energy all at once, gleeful with the sudden realization that the attack not only made his pain vanish, but also that the mental sickness was gone. He suddenly felt better after that blast of energy, and the aura of the forest returned to normal.

Yami noticed the Meditite dodge the attack instead of bracing for it like he’d expected it to do. He let out a low his and called out to Machiko, “Don’t let him get away! Aim another scratch at him!” He watched as Machiko darted forward again for another scratch just as he noticed something wrong just as her long deadly claws made to swipe he recognized the attack aiming straight for her and he yelled, “Dodge, Machiko! Dodge!” For a moment the feline pokemon froze in horror before survival instincts kicked in and she just barely missed getting attacked by the doubled force of her own attacks. It left her rattled and shaky as she watched the Meditite with wide startled eyes and Yami let out an explosive breath of air.
A low angry sound came from Machiko even as Yami noticed there seemed to be a shift in the Meditite’s attitude. Before he could even get a command out for her to stop, Machiko leaped forward to finish the attack she’d started. Partly out of anger and partly out of protective instinct for her human, remembering how he’d first seemed when she’d been called out. This Meditite had attacked her trainer unprovoked, she deserved at least one good last hit.
The final scratch was welcomed with open arms, the meditite bearing no resistance towards the trainer whose path he had been blocking a few moments ago. In fact, the smile on the face of the meditite told a lot, and the pokemon fainted easily at the glameow's feet, obtaining the answer he had wanted all along.
meditite has fainted! glameow gains 2 levels! capture? another pokemon?

It was both a relief and a sad sight to see the Meditite fall to the ground, no longer able to battle as the attacks landed. Yami winced as they did, watching as the Meditite accepted them and embraced them almost as though it understood something they didn’t and for the first time since this whole catastrophe happened he wished he’d called out Sei in attempt to communicate with the Pokemon. Everything was said and done though, the damage paid and the pokemon fainted besides he had said he’d wanted to battle some pokemon so it was only natural that he’d ended up battling one just…not how he’d originally expected to. He reached for his belt and unclipped an empty pokeball, pressing the button to the capsule and watching as the red light engulfed the fainted Meditite to capture it. He waited for it to detail whether it was a success or not before sighing and putting it back on his belt with a sideways glance at it.
Yami’s eyes slowly fell to Machiko who watched him carefully, no doubt sensing his mixed emotions about the battle. He chuckled lightly and bent down, calling her softly so that after a moment of hesitation she came to him. Plucking her up and cradling her in his arms, Yami began his walk again relieved that this time his path lay unblocked as he took a few steps and ended up at the beach. Machiko made a soft displeased sound and he chuckled softly, reaching into his backpack single handedly and pulling out a sheet she could lay on with him. More content with this she hopped from his arms and curled up beside him on the sheet, deciding to sun herself while she dozed. Yami watched her for a moment before reclining back as well, using his arms as a pillow and closing his eyes as he decided to join her for a little bit. After that rather adrenaline inducing battle they deserved to rest their eyes just a bit…right?

The meowth walks on all fours, a sort of vile, dark look gracing her features as she puts each paw forward with an elegant percision, obtained either from years of practice or a motherload of inspiration. Funny because his mother was his inspiration, the perfect Persian that she was. Meowth would have sighed in dreamy fan-boy-ness, is not for the dire situation of things. He crept closer, looking at the trainer with awe. But he had to put that aside for now. He reached a hand out....and silently, expertly, yanked out a good handful of hair from the trainer. It was lush and purple. Wonderful for his collection.
meowth pulls out yami's hair! what will coordinator yami do?
He was dozing lightly, the sand warm on his back and the sounds of the wave hitting the shore was calming. The combination easily lulling him into a state of half awareness alongside Machiko whose soft purr as she slowly fell asleep after the battle also added to the lulling sounds. It was comfortable and finally calm compared to the last few days with preparing for the gym and such. So now with his pokemon slowly gaining some strength he felt a lot more confident. A small part of him, the part that was still partially aware, debated bringing out Sei and Hana because it’d only be right if they joined in too. Perhaps once he healed his new Meditite and gave him a name they’d come back here so he could enjoy it as well. [break][break] These thoughts drifted in and out of his mind as he dozed lightly, vaguely feeling Machiko curl even closer to him. Her ears flickered a few times as she slowly slipped into sleep, her ears catching some kind of sound that bothered her a bit but unable to really focus on it. During one moment as she curled closer to Yami her eyes opened blearily and she jolted awake upon seeing a meowth coming up to Yami with some intent. [break][break] Unthinkingly she lashed out with Fake Out just as her human let out a grunt when his hair was pulled, an angry yowl ripping from her throat as she leaped forward, her claws lashing out to Scratch the feline. Yami bolted up, hand to his hair and wincing as his head radiated pain. Machiko’s eyes narrowed dangerously while yami simply blinked at the feline in surprise. Meowth. He’d never seen one of those in real life and only knew the vagues facts about them but hell if that thing didn’t know how to yank at hair. He scowled at the feline and muttered, “What the hell was that for?”
The meowth is taken aback by the seemingly sudden appearace of the glameow, but the shock results only in an instinctive dodge- glameow were his worst enemy, for reasons he didn't quite feel comfortable sharing. Glameows were worse than dogs, or birds, or anything. The meowth hissed as it nearly avoided the fake out, and then growled in pain after being hit by the scratch. Meowth lashed out soon after, jumping forward with a snarl, trying to bite into the glameow's skin. The tresses of purple hair were still in his hands, clutched protectively between his claws.

There was something about seeing a pokemon with strands of hair, strands of his hair that was…well that was completely maddening. He could feel his chest become tight the more he saw and his face become marred by a scowl, especially when it simply attacked his Glameow more viciously. Machiko’s fur stood on end as she let out soft angry noises and glared at the meowth, uncaring of what kind of pokemon that it was just that it had hurt her human even if it wasn’t that much of a big deal. Her eyes narrowed when it growled at her, taking a step back as she blinked at the meowth before it was suddenly striking out at her with its teeth and earning a screech for its work as she was hit. However, this only managed to make her angrier, her eyes flashing dangerously at the other feline as she hissed and her tail lashed about agitatedly. [break][break] “You alright, Machiko?” The Glameow glanced back at her owner, hardly paying attention to his words but giving enough of a sign that he nodded his head in understanding. He straightened up, getting off his bottom and standing above them to face off alongside her with the meowth. His voice was a lot more firm and commanding this time, the earlier guilt for the Meditite nowhere in sight for this meowth who’d attacked unprovoked. “Let’s do a double play of Iron Tail then. Make it count.” If Machiko had been able to smirk it would have been pulling at her delicate features as she stared at the meowth in front of her, knowing iron tail at the moment was her best attack. Her tail lashed about again but this time, a soft glow accompanied it, getting stronger and stronger. It didn’t take long before an almost silver like sheen coated her tail and then she was off, swinging her whole body into the attack as her tail aimed straight for the meowth, backing up only for a second to do it again.
