every move that goes towards the honedge is met with a parry, although it's evident that the attacks are too much for even the mightiest sword. the hilt suddenly comes loose. the cloth that's wrapped around scraggy's hand suddenly unfurls and it drops unceremoniously to the ground.
scraggy is left by itself. in a last ditch effort it kicks sand into he swablu's face and disappears, only to show up again behind the skorupi and throw a punch at it.

Now that the sword pokemon was out of the way, Sylvester quickly sought to aid Dmitri in taking out the one who wielded the Honedge. "Gunther, hit the Scraggy with that song of your's." He was glad to at least know his pokemon was not in any immediate danger, as flying types were resistant to fighting types. He knew too well that the opposing pokemon would be taken care of very soon...
"Hit'em with your peck attack." Sylvester only knew one way of winning, and that was fighting. While he favored being on the offensive, nothing was more vicious than a cornered creature of some kind. 'Dmitri better get a move on.' After all, Sylvester didn't want to do all of his battling for him.
In the meantime, Sylvester lobbed one of his only spare pokeballs towards the Honedge. 'You'll make a great addition to my team.' He was very glad to have found, let alone catch this pokemon. 'Ghost type pokemon are way too cool not to capture.'
cilalic , Dmitri Khvostov Let me know if you meant to hit Swablu. Your post says Skorupi, but the end says Swablu. Also, please let Dmitri get the win. uwu

"Return the favor with Poison Sting!" Scraggy sucker punchedBowser from the shadows, refusing to leave him ample time to dodge after the attack. Such speed, it's impressive. He was going to do his best to acquire this pokemon, and since Sylvester had his eyes on Honedge he felt it appropriate to claim this one.
"Once we've taken him down, he's mine." There would be no questions about it; he was already holding a secondary pokeball from skorupi's. Ideally Scraggy would faulter in the next few moves, but it was still demonstrating remarkable persistence and martial prowess.
"Bowser, use Leer to weaken Scraggy's defense!" Skorupi focused his gaze towards the Scraggy and glared, diminishing the pokemon's confidence and causing it to lower its guard. Now's Gunther's chance!
"Have Gunther attack with Peck while his guard is lowered." Bowser staggered backwards, his injuries catching up with him. But he endured, standing to fight for another round with the contending Fighting-type.
Honedge was defeated! +2 Lvls (Lvl 14) Skorupi was hit by Feint Attack! Skorupi used Poison Sting on Scraggy! Skorupi used Leer on Scraggy!

Sylvester Blackburne, cilalic Just for clarity, how does EXP in double battles work? Are we supposed to split EXP per kill, meaning 1 to Skorupi and 1 to Swablu? Or just 2 for each? Lmk and I'll edit straight away.
honedge♀ - level 014 - no guard moveset: tackle, swords dance, fury cutter metal sound, pursuit
scraggy faints from the attacks. both of the pokemon are too strong for him. without the honedge's help, he couldn't withstand the attacks. he falls to the ground in a heap.

The Scraggy had finally gone down for the count, and since Sylvester didn't feel like capturing it, he decided to let Dmitri know it was his for the taking if he wanted. "I already caught the Honedge, so if you want to catch the Scraggy go ahead." Besides, there should have been more pokemon up ahead. Deciding to give Gunther a break, he allowed his pokemon back inside it's ball to release another.
"Slow...poke." Even his speaking was slow, though he managed to keep up with Sylvester as he trudged ahead through the dense forestry. "Let's keep going and see what else we can find, Dmitri." Seeing one pokemon would never be enough for him. Not after he had waited all day, looking elsewhere with no luck. Sylvester was determined to find what he was looking for, and fortunately for him it wasn't very specific in nature.

"Yeah, I'll take Scraggy." I think Andrea mentioned these before, but did she want one? He tossed a pokeball without a second thought. Dmitri would keep it for himself if Andrea decided against it.
"Let's keep looking..." That was quicker than I expected. Whether or not their luck would run dry was another matter. But they kept up their pace, tracking down traces of whatever wild inhabitants of Petalburg Forest might be lurking nearby. It was a tedious process, but necessary.
"Come out, come out, wild pokemanz.~" Yeah, like they'll come running if I call for them. Sometimes Dmitri amazed himself by how stupid or at least goofy he came off as. Still, Sylvester didn't seem bothered by it, and they continued their search in relative peace.
"What did they make the floor out of, rock?" A hand still cupped his cheek, the left side of his face swelling into a disproportionate figure. Dmitri didn't realize it, but he was beginning to look like some sort of clown. I think I need to get this checked.
"I'm switching to Hoodin." He returned Skorupi to its pokeball, relying on Abra for the remainder of the wild pokemon hunt and expedition. Whatever we're calling it, we're following through! He struggled to keep pace with Sylvester as he rushed onward, claiming his pokemon ahead of Dmitri.
diglett pops out of the ground near the trainers, looking at the pair curiously. "diglett!" it says. with another pop it goes back into its hole and reappears on the other side. "diglett!" it repeats this process for another couple minutes until it makes a couple more holes, as if it's daring one of the trainers to catch it.

Some pokemon were really annoying. Flashing his pokedex for a moment, Sylvester realized the kind of troublemaker they were dealing with. 'Alright...I got an idea.' Instead of using his pokemon to try and hit the Diglett as it maneuvered underground only to resurface a moment later, Sylvester would instead flush it out of hiding. "Brolaf, use water gun to fill up those holes with as much liquid as possible." Without much of a delay, a gout of water was sent out towards the myriad of holes leading underground.
"Dmitri, I am going to flush'em out. When the Diglett surfaces to avoid drowning, hit them with all you've got." Was it a solid plan? Perhaps not. Soil was great for absorbing water, but at the same time it would fall down faster than it would be absorbed. If his estimations were correct, it would at least scare the Diglett into coming to the surface. If they were all connected, water would begin to pool down below, albeit at a gradual rate.

"Broski's ready for anything." Except maybe whatever this thing is. Dmitri hadn't ever seen a Diglett before, they avoided colder climates and ice in general. It looked foreign to him, and unnatural. "Broski, use Powder Snow over two holes at a time. We'll increase our chances that way." Powder Snow could hit multiple targets at once, so it wasn't going to take them long.
"There it is! Get 'em, Broski!" It emerged for a brief moment, though soon enough it seemed to retreat back into hiding. Did we get him!? Whether or not it had fainted wasn't the question, though if it hit concerned him.
"Keep filling the holes, flush him out." Broski was scampering around from hole to hole, peering inside to find the Diglett. Maybe Diglett would confuse Broski for one of their own and come say hello? That would be convenient...
Skorupi was slammed into a nearby surface, and the attack did a number on him, yet his teeth managed to sink on another set of the tendrils encasing him. Bowser chomped madly, thrashing and eviscerating what he could fit within his miniature mouth.
Dmitri would tell both were ebbing in vitality, but the competition wasn't down for the count yet. Skorupi struggled to get free, but Constrict still encased him. It was getting down to the wire.

it's all fun and games before diglett suddenly hears the rush of water. woah woah woah, he didn't expect this. the pokemon rushed towards the top of the hole. he's suddenly met with water and a rush of snow, and soon he faints. it didn't work out the way he wanted to :(

"Alright...I'm glad that is taken care of." Allowing the pokemon to faint, Sylvester decided against capturing it. Not only was the pokemon bothersome, but it didn't look very appealing. It was also seemingly stuck in the dirt. 'I don't even want to know what it looks like when it evolves.' It was already bad enough.
Turning towards his hind, he shined his flashlight over Dmitri for a moment, making sure he was there. Allowing Brolaf back inside his pokeball, he decided it was time to head back. "I think that's all we're gonna see tonight. We probably scared everything else away." Making his way back the direction they came, it was easy to follow the trampled grass and bent forestry.
"Might as well head back. I don't want to be out too late, anyway." After all, they had both been awake all day. At least Sylvester, anyway, and his day was spent wasting his time trying to find wild pokemon/ Now he had actually managed to catch one. 'We got our money's worth.' Not literally, but the saying still seemed to serve it's purpose when he thought about it.
"Try not to trip." He snagged his foot on a vine, avoiding the fall by leaning against a tree with his arm. "Watch your step." Shining the light down at his feet, the path was illuminated for the both of them to gradually make their way back. As they continued onward, Sylvester could make out the entrance, or rather, the exit of Petalburg Woods in the distance. "Well, we're almost there."

"Sometimes I wonder why these pokemon look the way they do." Diglett was interesting, but something about it made Dmitri uncomfortable. It seriously looks just like Swinub. Perhaps he didn't want both look-alikes in his party, to make identifying them that much more complicated.
"It seriously reminded me of Broski." It was mostly a joke, but he was also quite serious. He ducked beneath a low hanging branch as he strove to keep pace with Sylvester. He moves quick. Dmitri was steady on his feet, but that required a certain apprehension when stepping on ground that he didn't trust.
"I think that's the way out, over there." He observed a clearing to their right, and bee lined straight towards it. He could hear other pokemon scuttling about, perhaps they were worth investigating, but Dmitri knew better than to overstay his welcome.

"Uh, maybe it had the same nose?" Breaking through the forest lining, it was good to see Mr. Briney's boat fastened to the dock, likely resting inside his modest little home. "He we are." Sylvester did his best to forget about Dmitri's comments on what the pokemon looked like. 'He doesn't need to tell me about it...' Though, at the very least he wasn't nagging the whole time asking 'Are we there yet?' Now that would have proven genuinely annoying.
"Well, I think it's time we go our separate ways. That is, unless, you were planning on heading back into Petalburg City too?" For Sylvester, he would be shacking up in Petalburg for the night.
They had a hotel there where he had a room already booked. "If so, just follow me until we get there." Walking down the gravel road as he illuminated it with his flashlight, he trekked down the path and towards Petalburg, where he could spend the rest of his tiresome night in silent tranquility.

"I'm meeting my pal Usa in Slateport. I'll catch you another time! Thanks for having me." Dmitri waved him off before turning to Mr. Briney's, wondering if it was a tad bit late to ask for a seavoyage west. Maybe I should've gone with Sylvester. He didn't dwell on it for longer.
He went over to Mr. Briney's and knocked, several times, but received no answer. Go figure. He turned around and saw Sylvester barely turning around the bend in the road towards Petalburg. "WAIT UP!" He started sprinting down the path, reaching Sylvester in a few brief moments.
"Mr. Briney's either away or asleep. I'll have to make due with Petalburg for the night, too." He wasn't exactly happy to backtrack, but Petalburg was close to where he first met Usagi. Reminiscing would be as good a passtime as any.
