lunatone lv.24 levitate confusion moonblast hypnosis embargo rock slide rock throw | It appeared as though its presence had been noticed... very well. Many pokémon's senses weren't restricted to the superficial five most humans were limited to. It wasn't surprising that it'd been sensed.
The lunatone shifted slowly through the dense foilage of the trees, weaving with ease through the intricate spiderweb of boughs and branches. The grass type who, apparently, was to become its first opponent missed by a mile since it'd began moving before it could land. Was it luck perhaps? That the girl had just so happened to change to a creature that held an advantage over it? Hmmm... it didn't like this coincidence. Something had to be done.
From where it lurked in the canopy, almost entirely obscured from view, the vengeful lunatone sent hypnotizing waves towards the grass pokémon, aiming to lull it into a deep slumber.
Embargo is in effect! 1/5 turns. Lunatone dodged razor leaf! Lunatone used hypnosis! Lunatone used hypnosis! |

The razor leaf didn't appear to hit anything. Grotle looked over to the Vulpix as if to say that she was paranoid but the fox kept on crying her name to communicate otherwise. The attack while missing had Syndra mildly confused as to why her Vulpix was acting like this or even why Grotle humored the fox. "Alright alright, let's settle down." The grass type didn't say anything but moved his gaze over to the human female. He didn't mind it but his lack of response was less so because of that and more so because a wave of drowsiness washed over him. Mentally fighting back the feeling for a moment, it took longer for him to succumb to the sensation of sleep as the turtle closed his eyes. Only a moment wouldn't hurt right?
It likely would but there was nothing that can be done about it now. The sight of the now sleeping turtle had Syndra concerned now as she knelt down to get to eye level with the grass type. "Grotle? Grotle what are you doing? Wake up," gradually her tone of bewilderment grew into concern as now she knocked her knuckles on the shell to see if the feeling or sound would wake the turtle. All the while the fire fox was looking around the area trying to sense where the foe went. 9 made by bonnibel

lunatone lv.24 levitate confusion moonblast hypnosis embargo rock slide rock throw | Perfect... the grass tortoise had fallen asleep. Now it would be safer to make its moves. This lunatone was quite an intelligent specimen, a born strategist and an eager learner, and prided itself on assuming it'd be able to put up a better fight than any other wild. That was partially why it played the part of the hero who avenged other wildlings.
"Lunnnne..." It hummed again as it emerged from the dense foilage of the trees. As soon as it came into view though, its crescent-shaped body began to glow with power. Honing the power of the moon, the lunatone released a powerful burst of fairy energy at the sleeping grotle, combining it with disorientating psychic waves as it aimed to create a dazzling and overwhelming mix.
Embargo is in effect! 2/5 turns. A wild lunatone has appeared! Lunatone used moonblast! Lunatone used confusion! |

The grotle didn't wake yet, snoozing away as Syndra tried to wake her pokemon up. Vulpix on the other hand sensed the direction of the other pokemon but by that time it was half a second too late as it emerged from its hiding spot. The sound and the speed was enough to have the trainer's eyes drawn to it. "A Lunatone?" The fox wasn't tricked yet rather than hastily attacking the fire pokemon tackled her trainer out of the way for the foreign pokemon's moves to have a good shot at the unmoving turtle. Syndra was safely out of the way now though on the ground with the fox standing on top of her body.
The combined attacks looked magical, like something out of a fairy tale in the dim glow of the night sky. If it wasn't for the fact that it hit her pokemon squarely in the back then Syndra would have been more awestruck than she was concerned. She was undoubtedly impressed by the pokemon's moves yet somehow that was not important to her as of now. The blast created bright lights as some dust particles kicked up to distort her view of her Grotle. "Grotle!" she called out hoping at the least that the grass type was alright and awake now. There was no way it would still be asleep after that attack right? Indeed that was so as the turtle grunted in pain as he awoke. Taking the liberty of retaliating the leaves on his back began to glow softly as the absorbed the energy from the opposing target. Some stray leaves from the cluster also began to fall off from his body which shot forward towards where the attack felt as if it came from. 10 made by bonnibel

lunatone lv.24 levitate confusion moonblast hypnosis embargo rock slide rock throw | Moonstones! It seemed like its attack had woken up the grotle! The lunatone's glittering crimson eyes narrowed as its opponent sapped some of its energy with its darned grass attack while managing to avoid the other.
In an attempt to lull hits foe back to sleep, the lunatone released another barrage of psychic waves. It repeated it previous attack too and, after a moment of storing energy in its glowing rocky body, the lunatone released it all in a single blast.
"Luneee..." it hummed lowly, reminiscent of the eerie yet melodic tolling of a large bell. "Toneee..."
Embargo is in effect! 3/5 turns. Lunatone was hit by absorb! Lunatone dodged razor leaf! Lunatone used hypnosis! Lunatone used moonblast! |

At this point Syndra managed to sit up in time to see the Lunatone prepping the next attack. She kept Vulpix in her arms as she kept trying to go into her bag with little change with the zipper. "Evade it!" No, Grotle was not prepared to go back to sleep and he made sure of it by backing away from the Lunatone as much as possible to get out of range for the hypnosis. The Moon blast on the other hand was a different story as the turtle was helpless to do anything but be hit by the luminous energy. He was on his last strands of health at this point. The absorb helped in that regard however no matter what this was likely his final stand.
For a moment the branches on his back wilted and the next they appeared to glow a different hue than when Absorb was used. The leaves rustled as their size appeared to enlarge twice their normal size. The foliage on his back grew and the Grotle released a primal roar into the night sky. It was a sight that Syndra rarely saw but the sight was unmistakably the activation of the grass type's raw inner power, Overgrow. That said that also meant that Syndra couldn't risk dallying about and had to try to end this here and now as fast as possible rather than trying to conserve Grotle's energy.
Steeling herself Syndra stood up with her full attention on the battle at hand. She wasn't sure what spurred the Lunatone to attack them but it didn't matter to her. What mattered was winning. "Razor Leaf with all you've got." The growth in the leaves would prove to be helpful in increasing the attacking power as they fell all around the turtle. The amount of leaves were doubled and they all shot at the same time directly at the rock type in an attempt to knock it out. 11 made by bonnibel

lunatone lv.24 levitate confusion moonblast hypnosis embargo rock slide rock throw | W-What was this?! Where was all this power suddenly coming from? Dread gripped the lunatone on seeing the copious amount of leaves the grotle released now. It was stunned, rooted to the spot. The leaves were moving far too fast for it to dodge now and with such strength that the lunatone was powerless to do anything.
The fiesty dual type fell to the ground with a muffled thud, his cerise eyes tiredly watching the trainer who had defeated him so easily before finally closing.
Embargo is in effect! 4/5 turns. Lunatone was hit by razor leaf! Lunatone fainted! Grotle gains two levels! Capture the fainted lunatone? There can be no more pokémon. |

As the moon like pokemon fell to the ground there was a sort of relieved sigh from the trainer as she ran over to her Grotle's side. The grass type remained vibrant in his display of greenery however his face was noticeably wearing a ragged appearance. "Sorry about pushing you so far. Are you alright?" The turtle responded with a hushed grunt as Syndra patted his shell softly. The vulpix walked up next to him and spoke briefly which earned a subtle glance which directed her attention to the fallen wild pokemon. There was no reason not to right?
Taking two pokeballs on her side, she first recalled Grotle with the string of red light to envelop his form. "You did a good job today. Get some rest." In moments the pokemon disappeared. The other pokeball was an empty one that she threw at the unmoving rock pokemon with the intent of catching it. Couldn't just leave it in the wild at this rate. 12 made by bonnibel
