There was nothing left to do but leave it at that. Though she seemed intent on asking Birch a question for him, that wouldn't do any help later down the road for him if they didn't meet up again. Normally he tried to exchange contact information, but even from the start Sylvester felt it unlikely she would ever want to contact him outside of career purposes. Sylvester would just have to hope that maybe they would meet up again, and that his Venipede would be doing so great under his care that it would have evolved already. He'd make the doctor eat her words if she felt comfortable enough to accept his challenge, and Sylvester would be damned if he didn't present one to Gwen when the time was right.
Until then, it was time for Sylvester to go back on his ways out from Littleroot. He had been spending too much time here as of late as it was, and he should be tending to Harley and helping her develop her skills as a pokemon trainer. Realizing that he had a lot to look forward to, Sylvester smiled a bit as he exited the town and walked through the entrance to Route 101. It wasn't such a bad day...
