BIOGRAPHY - has an asian father and caucasian mother, was born and raised in lilycove. the former left before he was born, so he adopted his mother's last name. she says that he is a spitting image of his father, and loathes him for it. he moved out since he started shadowing the fortree gym leader.
- was scouted for a modelling career from young. these days he tends towards asian street fashion. while it's made him critical about his clothing choices, it's given him serious body image issues that he secretly trying to overcome.
- not entirely sure when he grew a fanbase, but grew irksome of them quickly. these days he tries to avoid them and the paparazzi. bright flashes of light tend to stun him or make him mad.
- took great interest in the fortree city gym and its leader until he could get an apprenticeship under the gym leader. welcomed with open arms, benji used the gym pokemon and raised them like they were his own.
- was extended the opportunity to help birch with his research project and gladly took on the job. equipped himself with a hoothoot and a pokedex and went along his merry way.
