Dmitri was looking to capture some more pokemon, which brought him all the way back to where it started. But he was also intent on returning to the petalburg gym to challenge the leader Norman. He couldn't wait to get back, but he'd made several pit stops along the way. Catching his breath on the side of the road, he lie on a grassy hill leading down into an expansive meadow just on the outskirts of petalburg city. The day was cloudless, arid.
'Hmmmm. Sure is sunny out today.' He'd cast his arm over his eyes to shield from the sun's rays, which were brighter than he'd ever seen in Hoenn. Back home it'd been brighter, but never quite so hot. He'd already tossed his shirt and felt the cool blades of grass tickling his back. He thought of sunbathing for a time, ignorant to the threat of sunburn in such intense ultraviolet rays.
Broski was off scampering around in the meadow, playing with wild zigzagoon that had mistaken him for one of their own. Or maybe they accepted him despite their differences? Dmitri couldn't be quite sure. Yet soon enough Broski came hurrying to him, exhausted from the heat and panting heavily.
"Yeah, I know. You can take a break from the heat and come back out when you're feeling better." He clicked the pokeball and siphoned Broski back inside to cool off. His shaggy fur and thick fat made him vulnerable to such intense heat, and he didn't want him to faint from dehydration or exhaustion. But he didn't like feeling alone, either.

This could not be happening…
Kohaku sighed heavily and looked around him, taking note of the tall grass and tries not too far from where he stood. He really should learn not to instigate a game of racing with Scheherazade, she got far too into it sometimes and then things like this happened. He had to go find her now. The silly filly had run ahead of him and then kept running until he wasn’t able to see or hear here. He knew she’d find her way back to him, always did but that didn’t stop him from fretting over what could happen to her while he wasn’t there. She was friendly and didn’t mind going up to people which always concerned him especially where those damned Aqua and Magma members were concerned. It made him uneasy to have any of his pokemon out of his sight but he brushed the emotions off, knowing he needed to remain calm if he was to find her. Were all these routes just going to spell bad luck for him and his group?? First Oldale where a freak rain accident happened and Zadies fires almost got put out and now this.
Of course…things couldn’t be a simple lost ponyta case, something else always had to happen…great.
Granted perhaps he should have been paying better attention to where he was going and where he was stepping and things wouldn’t have turned out the way he did. Alas that was not meant to be and luck was not favoring him again seeing as he’d had enough good luck when he found Cain and then Samuel it was time for the bad luck to kick in. His eyes were nowhere near focusing on the ground, instead scanning the trees for any flash of red or running ponyta. His ears focused on hearing her customary whinny of her name as she called for him to come find her. It was because he was doing it while walking backwards that when he finally turned to face the front his foot got caught on something—a body he would later find out—and he pitched forward with a surprised noise. His hat falling from his head and releasing his long fuchsia bangs as his hands shot out to catch himself.
A soft sound escaped him again as the air was knocked out of him and he had to stay there on the ground like that, puffing for air and wincing at the sting to his palms. A flash of irritation swirling through his mind before he had to calm it considering he should have been watching where he was walking. However, for the moment his main concern was getting the air back into his lungs and soothing his stinging palms. He’d apologize once those things were taken care of…maybe.

Pit. Pat. Pit. Pat. The sounds of footsteps coming closer, Dmitri presumed some passerby on the high road. Paying it no more attention than the wild zangoose, he absorbed the sunlight. Then something caught him in the ribs, and threw itself over his bareness.
"Ou-ch!" Collapsing atop him he too lost his breath, and struggled to catch it again. For a moment it was almost as if he'd forgotten how before his lungs seemed to inhale deeply and he expelled the most horrific sound ever possible. My lungs just said 'nope.' His vision was fuzzy, he could see splendidly toned fuschia hair frazzled all over him, leading him like an arrow to the culprit's face. It looked like a she, but he couldn't be sure.
"Umm, hi." It wasn't sincere or so much flattering as it was matter-of-factly. Hoenn, where the people literally bump into you. He thought he'd seen it all; he wasn't anywhere close. Still, without Broski to keep him company, he wanted to tease them.
"While we're admiring the view, can I have your name?" He gave a short smile before growing more lax, hesitant to try and move with another body strewn across him. It was more polite that way, than to get shovey with a stranger.

It was belatedly that he realized someone was talking to him and he blinked, looking up and…realizing he was toppled over someone. A soft dusting of pink settled along his cheeks and a spark of irritation curled against his chest but he kept it in check. However, just before he made a move to get off the young man spoke again and this time the dusting darkened to red and he scrambled off the young man spluttering. Wincing when he stood up to fast and grabbing for his head as a wave of dizziness hit before it passed and he straightened again. He looked the other over, a low growl in his throat as he remembered the boy’s cheeky words and feeling his cheeks heat up again. A part of him ranting about why people were just lying around while the other person reasoned the same exact thing happened to him with Cain so he couldn’t really get upset.
Instead he looked away and began brushing off his clothes, wincing every once in a while when his abused palms protested to the treatment. When he felt as though he got his blush under control enough he glanced at the young man, distractedly brushing a lock of fuchsia hair behind an ear as he took the other male in more clearly now. Clearing his throat he spoke up, voice lilting with his accent as he did so. “I…apologize. I should have been looking where I was going.” Fuchsia colored gaze flickered away from the individual back to scanning around a bit before asking questioningly, “You…haven’t happened to see a Ponyta around have you?” His tone lilting just the slightest again as his gaze landed back on the male in front of him.
His willowy frame for once wasn’t dressed in his traditional clothing, instead having a pair of shorts, black t-shirt that hung loosely on him, shin length boots and his green hat. It probably made him look younger than he was…or well younger than he already looked but they were comfortable for the running around he’d been doing earlier. As though realizing that the other male had asked for his name just then, which he had, Kohaku started slightly and spoke up. “Oh! I’m Kohaku by the way.” Really he didn’t know why he’d been so iffy when the guy first spoke, the irritation was already ebbing away as he finally got over his little embarrassment.

Scratching at his bare chest, he looked down and saw some debris scattered along his abs from the trip. I look like I've been working under a car all day. Reaching into his backpack, he retrieved a plain white beater and pulled it overtop. That'll have to do for now, he said standing up and trying to stretch off the anxiety and aches.
"Mine's Dmitri, and sorry but I haven't seen a ponyta today, I've been mostly basking in the sun." He reached over and scratched his opposing forearm, unsure how he could provide any help. Hmm... Maybe Broski would know! Grasping at his pokeball, Dmitri loosed Broski just before his feet, reaching out to stroke his fur with his bare toes before slipping them back into flip-flops.
"Hey, Broski, did you see any Ponyta running around while you were playing? Broski seemed to sniff at the fresh scent Kohaku gave off inquisitively, before wheeling around on Dmitri and climbing up on his shins with a look of affirmation. "Oh? Can you show us where it went?" He huffed, spun around in a circle as if chasing his tail, and abruptly jumped skyward before planting its feet in the ground with his nose pointed farther away from town. There was a pond over that way if I'm not mistaken...
"Well, I guess maybe Broski thinks he knows the one. Couldn't hurt to find out, I guess I'll tag along with you, if that's fine for you, uh... Kohaku, was it...?" Looks like a dude, but then again I can't quite tell. Very boyish to say the least.
*^* My thoughts are piggy nose could find him with his great sense of smell. Odor Sleuth would've been more legit but I tossed it. x: Up to you how long it takes to find ponyta.<3

Dmitri…
That was certainly an interesting name at least it was to the fuchsia haired young man. His missing ponyta aside…Kohaku might have been having a small problem keeping his eyes away from the other male’s chest and he had to keep glancing away. He let out a soft but thoughtful hum though when the other male introduced himself a little relieved that the other put on a shirt. However, a small frown pulled at his lips when the brunette admitted to not having seen a ponyta. Really he couldn’t understand how the ponyta could have gotten so far from him. Sure she tended to like running far past him and sometimes getting lost but it wasn’t usually as severe as this. Then again…they hadn’t exactly had time to do much exploring like they had on the routes near Littleroot and Oldale. He let a hand run agitatedly through his locks as he lifted his hat for a second before settling it on his head again. This adventure was not turning out how he thought it was, granted he was meeting friends he’d never thought he’d see again and that was an upside.
Belatedly, Kohaku noticed the strange pokemon at Dmitri’s feet and blinked. A small part of him was tempted to reach for his pokedex but the larger part of him was more concerned with finding his ponyta which was why he was a little surprised when the brunette asked his pokemon, Broski apparently was its name, if it’d seen his ponyta. Kohaku watched the pokemon for a moment before he noticed it seemed to have seen something and Dmitri reacted. At the brunette’s words Kohaku felt a flare of hope but bit his lip, keeping quiet in case it wasn’t what he’d thought. He didn’t want to get his hopes up too much and if push came to shove he supposed he could always have one of his new pokemon help…granted they weren’t very familiar with Scheherazade.
This time the petite male let a smile light up his face at Dmitri’s words and he nodded his head firmly. “That’s be great, yes. I’m seriously grateful to you!” As an afterthought his smile turned slightly more amused as he spoke up again, “And yes, Kohaku was my name…or ‘Ko’ for short if it’s easier.” He knew his name was sometimes hard for other people to say who weren’t familiar with it or its origins. He tucked the stubborn lock of hair behind his ear again as he turned to follow the brunette’s pokemon, keeping his eyes out for any familiar signs of his pokemon. He gave the other male an abashed smile as he murmured, “I’m sorry for dragging you and your pokemon from your time relaxing.” He knew how annoying that could be sometimes especially after a long journey and he felt a little bad for doing it to someone else.

"No it's fine, really. I don't want Broski or me getting too flabby." Dmitri was used to bulking up for the winters, but there wasn't much of a winter for him to prepare for. He wanted to keep thin and lithe, to make traveling less exhausting on himself.
"Alright Broski, let's go!" Broski scampered forward, huffing and sniffing at the ground as he charged towards the meadow, where he circled around. Suddenly he started off in the direction of the lake he'd thought of previously, which seemed as good a place to start as any.
"He's got a trail, I think!" He grabbed at Kohaku's hand and tugged him along, seeing as they needed to catch up with Broski before he too was lost in the rolling green hills ahead.

Kohaku giggled at Dmitri’s words, shaking his head in amusement and giving the taller male a long look because really he didn’t think the other male would be getting flabby any time soon. That particular thought made his eyes roam before he caught himself and cleared his throat before speaking with a hint of humor, “I don’t know. I don’t think its working since I’m pretty sure I see a bit of Flab.” He teased lightly as he adjusted the hat on his head, tucking a few locks of fuchsia hair underneath it to make it more manageable. His eyes glinting with wicked mirth and amusement as he spoke, his hands still throbbed a bit from when he’d fallen but otherwise it was completely fine and other than that there was no real damage done to him so he shouldn’t have a problem following the two in helping him find his missing ponyta. He seriously couldn’t be more grateful to the pokemon and his owner. He didn’t know if anyone else would have been so kind as to go out of their way to help him and it was relieving to know not everyone was so self-centered.
The petite male blinked when the pokemon was suddenly moving, surprised by how quick it was before realizing where it was going and biting his lip. The lake…hopefully she’d just gone to rest there and nothing too bad had happened. She was a fire type, water was seriously dangerous to her. For only a flash of a second his memory played back to when they were in Oldale and that freak rainstorm had happened almost putting out her fire.
He was yanked out of his darkening thoughts when there was suddenly a hand wrapped around his, tugging him forward to follow the pokemon. His first reaction was to yank his hand away as he blushed furiously at the unexpected contact and snap but he shoved it down not wanting to lash out at someone who was doing so much for him already. Instead he cleared his throat and followed as best he could when he got his feet under him properly after being startled forward. “That was quick! Have you had him long?” The pokemon looked rather strong, much stronger than the pokemon he had at the pokemon at the moment and it left him curious. Kohaku was well aware he was rather behind when it came to other people and pokemon but he’d had other things to worry about. He was far more into enjoying his pokemon’s presence anyway.

"Broski's my first pokemon. I've been raising him with extreme patience. One day he'll prove himself... until then, he's an adorable little guy and fun to be around!" They were darting throw the grass, Dmitri hopping over smaller chunks of rock dotting the field. He could see where Broski passed through a small treeline, and Dmitri directed them towards it. There's the lake just ahead.
"Watch for the branches, I got slapped good by one before." He'd let go of Kohaku and grasped at his cheek, which still had a small light pink scar. It didn't bother him much, he was more worried about thorns and poison ivy. The botanical life here thrived with an overwhelming presence here in Hoenn compared to the tundra back home.
"I think I can see her taking a drink over there, at the other side! Broski's already halfway there, the little show-off..." He gestured them forward, jogging at a brisk pace alongside the lake's shoreline. A few flora grew out from the bottom of the lake, growing to the surface and blooming. I've never seen anything like these back home. They dotted every section of the lake easily.
When they caught up to there pokemon, Dmitri was apprehensive. It wasn't for him to determine if this was the correct ponyta, and it seemed wary of Broski for a moment as he circled the equestrian, yipping in glee at his successful hunt. It returned to slurping the lake water just before Kohaku and Dmitri reached it, and it turned away from the coastline. Broski probably deserves a reward for this. Dmitri would keep that in mind for later.
