With her first Pokemon encounter behind her, Amelia was still left with just a single Pokemon, and still utterly alone. The man from before captured the Drifloon and was off on his way. Jack was still no where to be found. At least she still had Mareep beside her. The sheep Pokemon wouldn't ever leave her, right? Amelia couldn't forget about the egg, either. She held the heavy, green egg tightly in her arms. Even with the weight, it was hard to forget about sometimes when it didn't move or make sounds. It just sat there. Professor Birch told her that it would hatch into a Pokemon soon. Amelia hoped when he said soon, he meant really soon.
She shifted the weight of the egg onto her hip, trying to get comfortable. It would be a lot easier to travel when this thing had finally hatched. Maybe it would hatch by the time she found Jack again, and his would still be an egg! That would show him that she wasn't irresponsible. Amelia could do things on her own, she didn't need his help! Right. She was good all by herself.
With her newly found determination to progress forward, her eyes turned down to her sheep. "Let's get going, Iris." Mareep let out a bah and hopped forward a few feet in front of her trainer, with Amelia trailing behind.
eggs! this bidoof had a few eggs of her own. her babies. they were tucked comfortably on a small patch of grass off the route. she was patrolling the route making sure that there were no predators near by. she was making sure her kids would be safe. but then comes this trainer. bidoof snarled at her in self-defense, attempting to get the trainer to run away.

Her feet seemed to get heavier with every step. The weight of the egg was making her arms feel like jelly. She hoped she would get to the next town soon so that she would be able to finally take a break. If her sore arms and legs weren't enough trouble to manage, the growl that came out of no where nearly scared the girl out of her skin. Amelia didn't even know where it came from or what it was, but she wasn't going to wait to find out. "Iris, use thunder wave, tackle, anything, just make it go away!"
The girl ran a few paces forward, clutching the egg tightly against her chest, as Mareep ran to the source of the angry growl. Electricity pulsed from the sheep and towards the enemy, as she dashed towards it in a tackle.
When Amelia decided she was far enough away, she turned to face whatever monster that decided to jump out at them. It was...a Bidoof? The girl was frustrated when she realized that the furry creature had managed to scare her that much. It was practically harmless. Nothing to be afraid of. Now she almost felt bad for what she had done. It had startled her, though. It wasn't her fault!
well, her plan worked. the trainer was scared away. but she wasn't expecting the mareep to fight back. she was caught off guard when the electric attacks flew. she shook them off and went in for a tackle, but she couldn't even move. what was this magic?
Amelia wasn't sure what to expect now. This was her first real Pokemon encounter. The last one had been handled by the boy she had run into; she didn't have to do anything before. Before, she had been the one who came into the middle of the battle. This one was her's alone. Now she was stuck staring at this unmoving, fluffy, brown creature. What happened next? Was it fainted? It certainly didn't look fainted. Its eyes were open, staring at her Mareep.
But it wasn't moving. Maybe it was a sign that she needed to throw a pokeball. Quickly, she placed her egg on the ground, her arms feeling immediately relieved from the weight of the egg. The girl reached into her bag and pulled out one of the pokeballs she received when she was given her starter Pokemon. If she remembered correctly, all she had to do was toss the ball at the Pokemon she wanted to capture...right? Well, it was the only way she could find out. Amelia threw the capture device at the Bidoof, hoping it would be locked inside.
Was it...captured? Amelia took hesitant over to the still pokeball lying on the ground and picked it up cautiously. It didn't seem like it was going to pop open anytime soon. Good! First Pokemon captured. One more on the team to show Jack when she caught up with him. Easy peasy. The girl tucked the ball away in her bag and walked back over to where her egg lay waiting on the ground. She cradled it into her arms once again, its warmth now familiar against her skin.
"Come on, Iris!" Amelia called out the words to the sheep as she began heading down the route once more. The sheep ran on her short legs to lead in front of her trainer. For not really knowing what she was doing, Amelia thought she was pulling it off well so far. Two Pokemon and an egg and she hadn't even made passed the first route? Definitely doing well! Okay, so maybe the Mareep was a starter given to her by the Professor and the egg was a gift from said Professor, but the other Pokemon she caught all on her own. Wasn't that something she could be proud of?
out of a tree came an igglybuff! she floated down and landed on top of the trainer's head. how accurate! she gave the trainer a few light boops on her head before jumping off and landing right in front of the mareep. she waved and smiled at both of them.

Plop. Boop, boop, boop. Amelia held back a scream as she felt something land on her head; this time her senses acted faster than her instincts. The creature jumped from her head and landed in front of Mareep, smiling and waving at them. Amelia released a breathe that she was holding in as she saw the Igglybuff was harmless. Or at least that was how it was playing.
Regardless of the Pokemon's intentions, it was such a doll! It was adorable; so round with fluff plopped right on the top of its head. Amelia didn't understand how something could be as cute as that and have any sort of power, but it was a Pokemon, it had to be packing some sort of punch.
Amelia crouched down on the ground, placing the egg beside her so she could maintain balance on her feet. Her hand thrust forward. A greeting to the pink blob. Its introduction may have scared her, but she was willing to forgive it if it was willing to play nice. "Nice to meet ya!"
strange. the stories her mother used to tell her always had trainers randomly attacking wild pokemon. she was surprised that this trainer now wasn't attacking her. no, trainers can't be trusted. she had to follow what her mother said. so the igglybuff lunged forward to give the mareep a good pound attack.
It was so, so cute...and downright rude. Amelia was only trying to be friendly, when the little pink creature just decided to slap Mareep. That wasn't a polite thing to do! The Igglybuff had absolutely no manners. Amelia decided that she needed to teach the round Pokemon a lesson. "Thunder wave, Iris." Maybe a bit of paralysis would teach her not to attack friendly strangers.
Thunder wave always seemed to be a safe bet, anyways. Amelia wasn't expecting what happened next. Besides the typical electric pulses that were sent out with the move, shocks of electricity spurted from the Mareep's mouth. Well, that was a new move. Thundershock. Even though it looked painful and she cringed as the shocks headed towards Igglybuff, it was exciting to see something new from the sheep. Even with just one battle, she was becoming stronger. Maybe getting a shock will show the Igglybuff that she needed to back off.
igglybuff hopped out of the way for the first attack. but the second hit her and almost knocked her out. so close. but she can't fight now. she decided to go with a different tactic. with big eyes she looked at the trainer and hopped over to her. she let out a cry for help. she hoped the trainer wouldn't attack her again.
