Of all the days she's been around, of all the things she's seen, there's never been anything quite like this in her neck of the woods. An... ice, thing, is scuttling across the forest floor. Granted she herself isn't in her natural habitat either, caves or whatever, but isn't it a little to warm here for something that looks so cold-happy? It seems fishy to her. After a few minutes watching and hesitation she finally flutters down, flying in a few circles around the other creature and screeching at it, trying to ask, hey, are you lost?
No side-tracking, no distractions. She's on a mission. She has no idea where she is, none whatsoever, but she doesn't care. She's looking for the biggest hill she can find. That's where she must have fallen, right? She'd lived in a really tall pointy rock, once, until a wind had sent her tumbling down. Maybe she has amnesia? All she remembers is that it was like a really big hill, and it was nice and cold. And so, she scuttles with purpose across the forest floor, trying desparately to ignore the oncoming Zubat. What does a bat know about tall hills? No, she can do this all on her own!
It was common to see Anya speeding around recklessly through Hoenn without a care in the world. She had no one to depend on her, no parents and no responsibilities! She was a lone Breeder, looking for adventure like some sort of Pokemon trainer.
She skidded a halt, popping a wheelie as she spotted the two Pokemon. Both were relatively small, but still! They were very cute! Brown doe eyes sparkling, Anya hopped off her bike seat and held up her Pokeball. "Arceus! You two are fine specimen of your kind. May I capture you?" Not waiting for any action from the two, she threw the Pokeball into the air melodramatically. She was really hoping for a breeding opportunity... or an egg, but whatever.
"C'mon out, Pansear!"
And out he came with a flash of light, folded arms and a smirk. Any pointed at the Bergmite first, "Fire Punch, go!" And he rushed forward, both paws coated in flames.

Julius headed out again, this time only deciding to roam the outskirts of the woods before heading back to the city. This day's session would be quick and to the point, he'd find a pokemon to battle and make his pokemon team (which only consisted of Zero right now) much stronger. Julius began walking freely around the Petalburg woods, wondering what kind of things he might encounter. His cigarette's smoke left a trail in his wake, making him pretty easy to follow for potential predators. That was okay. The predators were the exact kinds he needed on his team. Julius turned around a tree and wandered through loops and loops again, with one hand controlling his cigarette and the other in his pockets.
Eventually he came upon the two pokemon he was most certainly not expecting to see in the woods, and he quickly frowned as he wondered what kind of coincidence might have actually brought them here. He considered it for a bit before deciding it was not worth it. He ended up shouting to get the wild pokemon's attention.
"HEY!" he said, probably already rendering the extreme hearing possessing zubat deaf from his voice. "Zero let's see what you've got. Thundershock that bat."
Meanwhile he pulled out a pokedex and began scanning both the pokemon. The rotom dutifully let out a blue sword of electricity at the zubat, possibly paralyzing it in the process.

Oh, sure, this is what she gets for trying to help a fellow Pokemon in distress. Unwanted attention. First the ice guy gets slammed, and now she has a surge heading right for her when she tries to flee the scene. She screeches when it hits, and she falters a few feet. The human wants to play? Fine, she'll give him something to think about.
zubat is hit by thundershock! zubat uses supersonic on rotom!
There's a human yelling after her, she realizes with faint hesitation. A... What? She's not sure what a specimen is, but there's no time to think on it now. She only offers a glance behind her before she continues. Which only means that it's a complete shock to her when she's suddenly hit from behind by a fire punch. Whaa? No, that heat won't do her any good!
bergmite is hit by fire punch! bergmite uses harden! bergmite tries to flee!

The Zubat reacted quickly, and easily backed off the ice type and turned its attention towards Julius and his rotom. It looked annoyed, which was good. Julius's eyes flickered towards the bergmite where he realized that another trainer must have hit it with a fire punch. He couldn't exactly look around for this mystery trainer, so he didn't know what to do. In the end he knew he probably couldn't fight both pokemon at the same time, so he needed to think of something and fast. Zero only had one move that could work, and the ice type was already attempting to get away.
The raven haired male motioned to his partner and said, "Alright, discharge, and be quick about it before the thing gets away," he said, not exactly the most kind and caring of people towards pokemon. He'd had the ranger mantra forced fed down his throat for too long to take any more of their bullshit.
But before the command could be executed, Julius was met with an epic booming sound from the zubat, to which he had to shut his ears. "Dodge the waves!" he shouted, and it was without direction that this command was prioritized over the other one. Zero zoomed back and forth, and but wasn't ultimately affected. Juls let out a sigh, and the gestured to follow through. The pokemon let out blue sparks at both adversaries, hoping to hit them hard.
He then frantically threw a pokeball at the bermite. Even if it was running away, the pokemon was pretty slow. He hoped the toss would turn out effective and he could add the pokemon to his arsenal. Or give it to the other trainer who was there- he didn't really hold any sentiments, despite it being the first pokemon capture he'd be performing in Hoenn. He then turned back to the zubat and ordered a quick thunderwave to paralyze it. Rotom followed through without much hesitation.
zubat barely manages to dodge out of the way of the discharge. she gets shocked by the thunderwave, though! her body locks up, and she lands on the floor with a thump. she weakly picks herself up and lunches forward to leach life the pokemon.
bergmite however, isn't as fortunate. she's successfully shocked. the discharge expands and decimates everything in reach. bergmite faints, and in the process feels herself being sucked into a pokeball. she guesses that it's no use trying to struggle anymore.
bergmite fainted! bergmite is successfully captured!
Yet again the zubat's superior speed made Julius smile. Maybe in pissed off, sarcastic way, but he was still impressed at its ridiculous speeds. He decided it would be a pokemon he'd need to use for himself, maybe, and then quickly motion for his rotom to finish it off. The electric typed buzzed in what Julius thought was happiness. He turned, half interested and half weirded out that the first emotion displayed by his partner would be joy at being able to mercilessly destroy something.
Yeah, he was doing some bad parenting.
"Discharge," he said, shaking his head lightly as he didn't exactly want to get into what that creepy smile on the Rotom's face meant. The pokemon zapped loudly, creating two huge shocks aimed right for the zubat.
Julius just hoped it wouldn't die. As the attacks kept the wild pokemon busy, the glasses wearing male trotted over to where the pokeball was that held the captured bergmite. He pocketed it, wondering if it could be useful at some point.
the electric shocks are too much, especially for a pokemon as puny as zubat. she goes rigid and falls to the ground, awaiting her final fate at the hands of this ruthless trainer.
zubat fainted! capture? rotom gains 4 levels! (2 from bergmite)
there will be no more modding. you may continue to post.

He lifted up the bergmite's new pokeball, wondering idly what to name it. Suddenly there was electricity in the background, and the pokeball he was staring at reflected the light and almost blinded his eyes. Annoyed, he stuffed the sphere into his pocket and looked at the battle. His rotom was smiling wildly as it sent huge shocks towards the zubat. As a flying type, it fainted almost as soon as it came into contact with the waves.
Julius looked at the fallen zubat and instantly knew that it would En, the number directly after Zero. He smirked as an empty pokeball found its way into his hand, and he quickly pressed the button. The mechanic forced the pokemon into the contraption in a flash of all too familiar red light. The pokeball clicked in affirmation as the pokemon disappeared, and Julius walked over to give his starter a friendly pat.
Before realizing it was a ghost.
He awkwardly put his hand in his pocket, and the rotom made a crackling noise that sound like a laugh. He glared at it before laughing along with it, wondering when this seemingly strange friendship had started.
