Route 101 was the pinnacle of a trainer's journey. If anything, it was also the place to find new Pokemon to be an addition to her team. If she was going to rise through the ranks and become a champion, it would be expected for her to have a good enough team behind her. Glancing down at the pokeball in her hand, she rolled it between her fingertips before holding it in the palm of her hand and squeezing it. Andi. Her Munchlax and first Pokemon. So many years ago, she had learned that Pokemon were simply anomalies and should be respected or feared. Then fate happened to give her a baby Pokemon that held onto her and saw her in a new light. Seeing him so bright and innocent, feeding him and helping him with his manners - he was almost like a child to her. Nonetheless that meant she had more of a reason to protect him.
Opening the pokeball, Andi appeared and looked at his trainer expectantly. She gestured towards the grassy plains of Route 101. They'd have to keep an eye out for dangerous Pokemon but that was exactly what she was banking on. Meeting a new Pokemon, subduing it and bringing it onto her side. She checked inside of her carrier case and found that she had at least five pokeballs. She had to get the Pokemon down enough for it to faint to catch it or somewhere near there. This was going to be a rather interesting experience.
"Go on Andi."
She gave him the right away and he brightened up before running through the grass. His arms held out and enjoying himself as the flowers and everything brushed past him. She took smaller strides to catch up and for once actually took a moment to convey her surroundings a sixth time.
She preened her feathers, gaze shifting toward the collection of wild flowers and grasses she had claimed as her own long ago. It had the best nesting materials. The flowers were the perfect fragrance. And the grass was delightfully soft. When the Munchlax appeared she immediately grew offended. To intrude upon her grounds? Now that was terribly rude! Eager to punish the creature for its boldness, Murkrow prepped herself for flight. She paused briefly once she noticed the human. But her own pride would now allow for her to flee.
With a mighty flap, she launched herself toward the normal-type as she released a sharp cry. Her beak aimed for the Pokemon's head and belly, and she hovered at a close proximity in order to execute the move.
a wild murkrow has appeared! the wild murkrow uses the move peck on munchlax!

Munchlax happily frolicked through the grass until he felt a sharp object collide with his stomach. Falling backwards, he was dazed for a second before shaking it off. Standing up and looking for the source of his attacker, he came face to face with a Murkrow. He let out a cry of outrage and stamped his feet before looking back at Castiel. She glanced between the two Pokemon before a satisfied smirk formed on her lips.
"Very well. I commend you for your enthusiasm. Munchlax! Use Tackle followed by Lick!"
Her Munchlax let out a battle cry. Rushing forwars at the Murkrow as if he had seen his evening meal, he lunged forward at the other Pokemon. Murkrow was a Dark and Flying type Pokemon, if it wanted, it could have flown away from the charging Munchlax. To combat it she'd have to have a way to keep the Murkrow anchored.
Munchlax's tongue shot out to give the Murkrow a lick. It was different from the ones that Castiel herself received. Meant to inflict damage and even slight pain to another Pokemon. She stood at a distance and watched.
munchlax was hit by peck! munchlax uses tackle! munchlax uses lick!
Murkrow managed to dodge the Tackle, her wings flapping noisily as she maneuvered herself away from the normal-type. A pity she couldn't avoid that disgusting tongue from pressing against her fine feathers. A shiver coursed throughout her form, the look of disgust forming on her beak.
"Mur..."
After a moment she recovered, resisting the sensation that threatened to lock her muscles and leave her helpless. Flapping her wings hard, she shouted out, releasing a terrible move in the form of Astonish - her attempt to make the Munchlax flinch obvious.
the wild murkrow dodged tackle! the wild murkrow was hit by lick! the wild murkrow used astonish!

"Munchlax! Stand strong!"
He could feel his muscles locking up and a terrible tremble down his back. But his trainer was watching him and he had to get back at this bird for hitting him. Fighting off the locking of muscles, he heaved a heavy breath before focusing on the Murkrow. His tummy still hurt from the pain that she inflicted on him. Payback would be sweet.
"Munchlax! Use Last Resort!"
Last Resort was a move that could only be used once all other moves were executed at least once. She wasn't entirely sure if it would hit but the Murkrow seemed intent on making Munchlax miserable. That meant she'd might have a chance. If not it would be best to be safer than sorry. A plan had to be developed or else Munchlax would be in trouble.
munchlax was hit by astonish! astonish was not effective! munchlax uses last resort!
When Last Resort struck? It struck hard. Murkrow did not expect it, her body shuddering from the absolute power wielded by the single attack. Losing he breath and all rational thought, the small Pokemon gasped and released a series of weak caws. She flapped awkwardly, unable to go airborne due to the critical hit. Panic set in, shortly afterward, her gaze locking upon the single branch she had once been perched upon.
If only she had left the troublesome pair be.
"Mur..."
A small cry escaped her, one reflecting her anguish. Both physical and mental turmoil assaulting her very being. Resting on her back, her gaze shifted toward the offending Munchlax once more before her eyes fell shut.
the wild murkrow was hit by last resort! it was a critical hit! the wild murkow fainted! capture? munchlax gained a level! will you continue your search?

Munchlax cheered as the Murkrow fainted. But his happy mood was short lived as he noticed the defeated position that the other Pokemon took. Castiel turned to walk the other way, but Munchlax grabbed onto her skirt and gave it a light tug. He pointed back at the Murkrow and then looked up at her with those wide eyes that she couldn't help but acknowledge.
"You want to take her with us?"
He gave her a nod and she sighed before folding her arms over her chest.
"This won't be easy. You already know that she hates you for beating her, she could hold a lot of resentment and be a difficult team member."
Her Munchlax seemed to think it over but he straightened up with his little arms on his waist. She seemed to like the gleam in his eye and reached into her bag to grab a Pokeball. Opening it and tossing it at the Murkrow, she watched as the light engulfed it and waited patiently as the ball fell to the ground. Munchlax peered closer hoping to watch the ball close and a new friend be brought into their little family.
Psyduck was curious. She had approached the pair instead of simply avoiding them, clutching her throbbing head all the while. Despite the flurry of violence that had occurred recently, she remained undeterred, willing to compromise her safety so that she could get a good look. Psyduck paused before them, her pinprick eyes examining the pair visually. Eventually, she approached the Munchlax, prodding at him curiously with a finger.
"Psy?" She quaked.
the wild murkrow has been captured! a wild psyduck has appeared the wild psyduck poked munchlax!

Munchlax tried to get a good look at the Pokeball his new friend rested in. He poked it a little before giving his trainer a big smile. Then it happened, a little subtle poke that caused him to turn and face another Pokemon of equal height. A Psyduck? He blinked and stare at her before looking up at his Trainer and then back at her, pointing. Castiel placed one hand on her hip and looked atthe exchange between the two Pokemon, her eyebrows furrowed as she glanced from one to the other.
"You want a Psyduck too?"
Her Munchlax walked around the Psyduck once and then twice before plopping down in front of her and nodding. She wasn't quite sure what a Psyduck would do for her team. In all honesty, she was a little skeptical on the Murkrow in her hand. But after a bit of analyzation, maybe it'd be beneficial. She knelt down in front of the Psyduck and gave the other Pokemon a even stare.
"Do you want to come along with us?"
It was a little easier to ask rather than just bulldozing her over. Besides she seemed a little nicer than the rowdier Murkrow. Tucking the Pokeball into her bag, she brought her Munchlax into her lap. For a second she couldn't believe that she was actually holding a conversation with a Pokemon. But it couldn't be that bad.
The water-type blinked in the woman's direction. She was tall, as humans tend to be. But the Psyduck was far from frightened by this simple detail, and her gaze slowly shifted from the curious-looking Munchlax to the woman of unknown origin. Cocking her head to the side, the water-type merely released another sigh, proceeding to move to poke at the woman instead. Eventually she yawned, and realized she was actually quite sleepy. The normal-type appeared rather comfortable on the woman's lap, so it gave her an idea.
The Psyduck raised her arms, attempting to gather the woman's sympathies. She wanted to be held as well.

She stared at the Psyduck for a moment. Was this Pokemon serious? Her Munchlax weighed quite a bit but a Psyduck had to be much lighter. She glanced between the two Pokemon for a moment before gingerly moving her Munchlax a little on her lap and picking the Psyduck up. This was embarassing and she was glad that no one was around to see it. But she had to admit that the two Pokemon were rather cute and cuddly. Nuzzling her Munchlax's fur and then rubbing the head of the Psyduck, she wondered if it would be so bad to have the other Pokemon around. But she didn't want to fight it, if anything she wanted it to be just as it was right now. Having a cute and cuddly Pokemon that didn't eat all of her food and could potentially be an ally in battles was nice.
Getting comfortable while sitting in the grass, she supported the two Pokemon while considering her options. If she attacked the Psyduck then it could become hostile and see her as an enemy rather than a friend. But if she didn't, it would be rather hard to capture wouldn't it? Looking at the Psyduck, she tried to come to a conclusion before letting out a light sigh.
"Alright. I might as well try it."
After the Psyduck fell asleep, she'd try using her Pokeball to capture it. If not - then she'd have to battle it but perhaps it wouldn't come to that. Her Munchlax leaned against his new friend and was falling asleep. It took Castiel a moment but she couldn't help but notice how cozy everything felt.
The Pokemon released a yawn, her eyes fluttering shut. She leaned against the plump creature to her side, relishing the shared warmth. Such a cozy sensation coaxed her into a doze. She didn't even notice Castiel's actions - and, once she was pulled into the orb, the capsule rocked gently back and forward.
...
The capsule popped open, and the Psyduck appeared, blinking her eyes open. She clutched at her head. And something odd happened at that very moment. The water-type smiled, a mischievous look twisting her simple features.
"Psy!"
The duck waggled her arm, as though chastising the bold human for her attempt.

This Psyduck reminded her of someone.
Someone that sat on the tip of her tongue and as she stared at it, she couldn't help but feel nostalgia. Their features had nothing in common but their way of treating her and mischievous nature was spot on. Andrea. Thinking of the other woman brought a smile to Castiel's face but it also sparked a bit of competitive spirit in her eyes. She stood to her feet and her Munchlax fell to the ground, landing on his belly and wiping hthe sleep away from his eyes although he gave his trainer an irritated stare. She smirked and gestured towards the Psyduck.
"Ready for a new friend?"
Her Munchlax jumped to attention and grinned nodding. There was something about battling that made him very happy and it made his trainer very happy as well. Plus, making new friends was always a plus. Castiel placed her hand against her chest and took in a deep breath before her eyes steeled over.
"Munchlax! Use Lick!"
Her Munchlax's tongue shot out from his mouth towards the Psyduck. He didn't really want to know waht Psyduck tasted like but it seemed like the move was rather effective.
The Lick came quickly, and the Psyduck could only clutch her aching head and tilt it in confusion at first. The attack left her trembling, but she eventually recovered as seconds ticked by. A look of amusement returned to her face, for she viewed this bit of activity as fun. Taking advantage of their close proximity, she swung her arm toward the creature, surprisingly quick as she flashed her pointed claws.
the wild psyduck was hit by lick! the wild psyduck used scratch!
