The beginning of her journey only continued to get better. The longer that she continued to travel around route 101 the more power that she started to feel from her pokemon. Eclairage continued to run around her feet, picking up flowers and sticking them in Penelope's shoes. Little organic decorative pieces that would sway gently as she walked. The more trainers she fought, the more experience that her pokemon would get, eventually helping the two of them grow in a productive and helpful way. At least this way, she would be traveling with her friend.
Chandra was off trying to catch wild pokemon, and told her to continue to wonder. It would be so helpful to find another trainer, or someone with a pokemon. Maybe they could battle! But letting her pokemon play with others would be just as helpful.
Pushing her way through the grass, she missed Pichu push her way first, catching a glance at a girl across the way and immediately rushed for her. Hands out she squealed in delight. "PiPiPiPipipi!"
"Oh! Eclairage! Get back here silly! I'm so sorry." A bit flustered, she attempted to pick up her little girl and smile sheepishly up at the girl in front of her. "She gets a little excited when she sees new people. " Pushing a strand of hair behind her ear she smiled at her, "My name is Penelope, and this is Eclairage. We were just looking for some people to battle or chat with. Would you happen to be up for either?" The girl looked friendly enough, hopefully she would take her offer.

MY GIRLFRIEND
NO DOUBT ABOUT IT SHE'S A BAD, BAD GIRLFRIEND
Bunny Beckett was now a real, official, pokémon trainer.
The feeling was bizarre. She didn't mind it, if anything she enjoyed it, but it was definitely jarring. There was a new sense of something that she couldn't quite place — responsibility? Determination? Whatever it was made her brain feel kind of fuzzy until she glanced down at the pokémon curled around her arms.
The Dratini looked up at her trainer, eyes wide with what Bunny thought was probably curiosity. The little snake-like pokémon had grown fond of her almost immediately, and Bunny felt like it was too crude to keep her stuck in a pokéball after just meeting. She thought that maybe keeping the Dratini out and close to her would help them bond, or something along the lines of that. Maybe she just liked looking at her. Either way, Diana (the name Bunny had decided on after many grueling minutes of trying to find something suitable) and she seemed like a perfect match.
Looking up to the bright blue sky, Bunny began to envision her future as a Coordinator. So many contests, with Diana by her side! And battling the League, that too — she didn't want to be solely looks! Her and her pokémon were gonna be known all across the region, maybe even regions, and she could see it happening so easily. That meant it wasn't that impossible, right?
"Tini?" Bunny looked back down to Diana, whose dark eyes were wide with wonder. Somehow, Bunny felt like the pokémon understood and shared her excitement. And how lucky was she, to get such a perfect pokémon at random from Professor Birch? They were meant to be! It was a match made by Arceus.
"PiPiPiPipipi!"
Bunny and Diana jumped, the pokémon wrapping tightly around her trainer's arm to keep herself steadied. Looking around erratically for the source of the hi-pitched squealing, Bunny began to imagine a tiny baby pokémon stuck in a thorn bush before spotting the excited little Pichu only a few feet away.
Almost immediately, a pretty young trainer pushed through the grass and attempt to pick up the tiny excited pokémon. After apologizing, she looked up to Bunny and said "My name is Penelope, and this is Eclairage. We were just looking for some people to battle or chat with. Would you happen to be up for either?"
The boldness of the question startled Bunny, but only for a moment. She remembered fairly quickly how her mother had told her that battling happened between all trainers almost on sight, even if they had never met. With a glance to Diana (who seemed to strangely understand the question, as determination lit up her body and made her squirm), Bunny began to smile a wide, friendly smile to Penelope.
"Sure! What could it hurt?" After shuffling Diana around a little so the pokémon was wrapped in her arms rather than around them, she said, "I'm Bunny Beckett, by the way, and this is Diana. I'm a famous Coordinator-to-be, but you can bet I've got some skills to uncover when it comes to battling." With a friendly wink, Bunny hoped this new girl would become a friend of hers — she definitely seemed nice enough!

Hey look, a Dratini!
Seeing such a rare pokemon with another person had confused Penelope for a moment, thinking that Chandra's baby Twip would be the only one in all of Hoen. She should have known better, honestly, but it didn't change the look of awe and love as she looked at the pretty royal blue creature twined around the girls frame. They looked infatuated with each other, and it made her heart smile. That kind of love between trainer and Pokemon was something that she strives for, especially between Eclairage and herself.
"My best friend has a Dratini. His name is Twip. Yours is lovely too." Smiling she leaned over to picked up the little creature and let her scramble across her arms, a little energizer bunny ramped up on electricity and pokepuffs. She should probably stop feeding her those.
"Oh! A coordinator? You should keep in touch, I would love to see the two of you perform sometime. Chandra and I are Trainers, so we don't do that stuff." She loved the thrill of a battle a bit to much, and couldn't force her pokemon into little outfits. But, maybe if she saw the way that the competitions went, maybe she would be more apt to try it out; and Chandra wouldn't mind the extra time alone to train and battle.
At the acceptance of the pokemon battle, Penelope grinned "Awesome! This is going to be fun."
Taking three large steps back, she made sure to set Eclairage down at her feet, holding a hand out to her as if to motion stop. Grabbing the pokeball at her hip, she threw it in the air, "Alright Mayze, show me what you can do!" The Venonat sprang forth, narrowing its eyes. Friend? Penelope. Friend? Well, not hate. Eclairage. Enemy? The Dratini sitting across from her.
"You can go first if you want. And We will keep it 1v1." Eclairage pulled at her pants sadly, not used to not being put into battle. Picking the little fluffy girl up she kissed her nose. "Don't worry, We will have a battle with you later."

I WILL GRAB MY FREEDOM WITH MY OWN HANDS.
As Penelope mentioned another trainer with a Dratini, Bunny's competitive spirit rose sporadically. Perhaps one day she and this trainer could also battle, and maybe even have a friendly sort of rivalry? But pushing this thought away, Bunny focused on the trainer in front of her.
The thought of staying in touch with Penelope made her blush a little — that meant the friendship was a success! Or at least, to her it did. She would definitely ask Penelope after their battle for a mode of contact so they could stay in touch. Maybe they could visit each other during contests, and Bunny could even help teach her how it worked!
But the battle was beginning! Penelope sent out a Venonat she named Mayze (and Bunny felt a slight tinge of jealousy at how easily the name seemed to fit the fuzzy pokémon — it probably took her less than a minute to figure it out!) that had a fierce look in its eyes. Bunny felt a vibe of inferiority as the Venonat stared them down, but to her surprise, Diana was glaring right back at Mayze with equal ferocity.
"You can do this, you can do this..."She whispered to herself and to her pokémon, although the Dratini didn't seem to need the extra encouragement. Bunny helped Diana onto the ground, uncoiling her snake-like body and then taking a good three-and-a-half steps back, calculating her best move while she did so.
"Diana, use Leer!" The Dratini's body stiffened as its stare turned quite suddenly into a glare, and despite her rather cute appearance, Diana looked absolutely terrifying as she poured all of her possible aggression into looking at Mayze. "Thunder Wave!" Bunny yelled after a good 30 seconds or so, hoping the sudden torrent of shocks erupting from Diana's body in waves would surprise the Venonat just enough to take effect. To Bunny's delight, Diana was reacting quickly to her commands. In anticipation, she waited to see Penelope's strategy.
There was no reason not to jump right into the battle, and Penelope was ready for the fight. It seemed like Mayze was ready too, swaying from side to side, watching the large snake like pokemon start to move. The blonde should have been used to Dratini's speed, and in part she was. She just wasn't used to the lack of speed that Venonat had. Momentarily cursing herself, she stabilized herself, willing Mayze the power to battle.
"Don't let her intimidate you Maze, She's not that much stronger than you." Her words were light, but she hoped that they instilled strength into her little pokemon.
Maze Nodded Lowering her head, getting ready to tackle without her trainers say so. But halfway through the move the paralization hit Mayze like a ton of bricks. Muscles quickly tightened and made her clench, nearly falling over to the side as she was stopped mid run.
No.
Flinching a bit, Penelope's nose wrinkled up and she threw her hand forward. "Okay Mayze, you Can do this, Try a supersonic!" She didn't really know what the stats were, but if trying to move wasn't working, then maybe a special move would do the trick.
The Venonat looked up from it's partially frozen stance and opened its mouth, Screeching in the direction of the Dratini, hoping to confuse it as much as her own muscles were confused."Try to shake it it off Mayze, move about, shake it off, We are still in this battle!" Penelope didn't want the little girl to feel bad about herself, so she constantly praised her, raising the morale and hoping it would lead to good luck later in the battle.

It hit her quite suddenly, but Bunny felt the rush of competition surge in like a tidal wave. Her grin widened and her hands began to move on their own in an excited matter as Diana's Thunder Wave successfully hit, paralyzing the opposing Venonat in the middle of a tackle.
But the battle wasn't won yet — Mayze screeched out a terrifying screech that nearly gave Bunny a headache. As the Coordinator covered her ears, she squinted and searched for her pokémon on the field.
Diana was suddenly facing away from Mayze, her head moving in dazed circles and her eyes unfocused. "Oh no, she's paralyzed!" Bunny Nearly panicked for a moment, but regained herself quickly and stared intently at Diana as Mayze's Supersonic subsided.
Raising a finger, Bunny commanded, "Diana, try to use wrap on Mayze! She's to your left, you can do it, I know you can!"
Diana swayed wobbly, but in the end turned to face Mayze again. The Dratini almost seemed to regain herself, but as she tried to rush forward to wrap around the Venonat tightly, ended up falling onto her side harshly and hurting herself in her confusion.

The Battle was coming to a head, two pokemon in the heat of battle and unable to do much more than stand and stare at each other. Mayze's supersonic hit with flying colors, even though her tackle kept her from leaving the ground. Eyeing the other pokemon Carefully, Penelope tried to think of the best route to take.
While her pokemon was paralyzed, there was no chance for her to knowingly throw off any of her moves. If anything, she would have to get lucky, and she would have to believe in her. The little purple puff continued to try and move, muscles to tight to easily move.
Dratini hit herself in confusion. Damage for her, that was a start."Okay! We can do this. Try and use tackle!"
Mayze Struggled, hands twitching in annoyance as she moved nowhere but barely forward, one step closer, but nowhere closer to the other pokemon. She was too paralyzed to move. Frustrated, but more worried, Penelope kept her eyes on her pokemon. "Good effort, I know you are trying, and I know its going to be hard. But you have to attack. Let's try tackle once more. Hit the Dratini head on in its confusion."
Chandra would be proud of her if she could see the way that she was battling. The woman had taught her a lot, and thankfully, she knew how dratini's were normally played. So did Eclairage who waved her little paws in the air, pretending to bat at the Dratini on the side for her sister.
With one solid movement, Mayze willed herself to move, one step at a time, making a quick and narrow attack on the Dratini. Hopefully it didn't have the ability to doge, because if so, this battle would surely be longer than Penelope had ever expected.
Panic surged through Bunny's veins for a few seconds as her new pokémon flailed on the ground confusedly. She hoped, really hoped, that Diana hadn't hurt herself too badly — but regardless, she needed to keep focus! Stay focused, stay focused!
To her delight, Penelope's Venonat was having trouble due to paralysis. The bug pokémon was having troubles trying to dispute a tackle attack, but it wasn't long until Mayze was able to push through it using sure willpower. With a harsh tackle, Diana and Mayze tumbled through the dirt for a moment with muffled cries that nearly — nearly — made Bunny wince. But then she realized, as her Dratini gave her a determined glance, that the blow had caused her to snap out of confusion!
"Quick, Diana! Use wrap!" Bunny demanded immediately. If Arceus was on her side, Diana would have had the perfect chance to twine her long body around Mayze and get a good grip. "Now use leer again, if you get the chance!"
Needing to move that far across the map was absolutely dreadful, with the paralyzed body, and her short legs, it was safe to say that even when she was healthy, she wasn't the fastest pokemon on the team. But that wouldn't stop her determination to take out every enemy around her, especially with Penelope egging her on. She could fight through this Paralysis.
But it wasn't fast enough to dodge the incoming snakes wrap. A normal move that hurt more the pokemon used it. But, as penelope remembered, it kept the attacker very close to its enemy. Maybe this would come to her advantage. "While the Dratini is close, Use tackle Mayze, twice, Hit her wherever you can."
Mayze could feel the way that the other pokemons leer was starting to work away at her, but she also knew that if she didn't start doing something soon she would end up one squished venonat. Throwing her head back, she fought through the paralysis to hit wherever her head could touch. Stomach, side tail, it didn't matter. Wrapped up in coils it was much to hard to distinguish which cylindrical part of the body was which.
Worried about the future of the battle Penelope watched without words, wondering if her venonat would pull through, or if she would be wrapped up forever by its enemy.

I WILL GRAB MY FREEDOM WITH MY OWN HANDS.
"BUNNY"
Diana cried out in pain as the Venonat tumbled and tackled her to the ground, but her slim body kept itself wrapped around Mayze in hopes to not lose grip. The tackles were starting to hurt more and more, but Bunny hadn't told her to give up yet! She was determined to try her best in her first battle, even if it meant losing.
Bunny was beginning to struggle for ideas. Diana only had one offensive move, and that was wrap. But at least she had lowered Mayze's defenses a little, that meant that Diana was making more damage than usual. But wrap was a relatively weak move, it didn't do much...
After seeing Diana get tackled by Mayze's persistent tackles, Bunny decided she was going to stay strong and push through this battle with Diana, no matter what! "Keep using wrap, Diana! Don't give up yet, squeeze with everything you've got!"
With muted hope, Bunny watched as her pokémon continued to grip the Venonat and hoped that Mayze wouldn't deal a final blow anytime soon.
Tackle | Supersonic | Disable Foresight | Moves | Moves -2 Defense Paralyzed, Hit by Wrap x2 | Tried to use Tackle, Disable
Now the battle was starting to get underway. The dratini was untrained, but so was Venonat, and the two beat at each other will all of their might. That strength would eventually show the other up. And, hopefully, there would be some sort of movement to see who would be getting out of this battle soon. Even Eclairage was screaming for her new sister to win.
What ever happened to sibling rivalry?
"Okay! Lets use Tackle once more!" Mayze closed her eyes and tried to force her head forward once more, but it didn't look like her muscles were cooperating, a shrill cry of anguish exited her tiny body as she was squeezed tighter. She couldn't be allowed to use that move anymore, how would she ever get out of it?
But, she had the chance, the first chance to use the move that had so debilitated her when trying to catch her. "Mayze, I know its hard, But remember our first battle, when I caught you? Remember when you showed me how powerful you were?" Could the pokemon even understand her?
Mayze writhed in the pokemons grasp but turned slightly to look at Penelope, intrigued by her voice. "Try and use Disable! Its our last shot!" Now that move Mayze knew. Turning back to the Dratini, she hummed at the pokemon, hoping for some sort of paralysis. Maybe it would boost the battle in her favor, if not, she would be squeezed to death!

After squeezing and squeezing, Diana began to feel her strength waning. She wasn't strong enough to keep this up, especially after Mayze had tackled her. She was trying her hardest, but she felt like this was probably the end unless she could somehow get a critical hit.
Bunny watched with bated breath as Penelope declared her next move, and then immediately felt her hopes diminish. Diana slumped off of Mayze and slithered a few paces away, breathing harshly and sending a glance to her trainer. Wrap was her only offensive move, and it had just been disabled!
Despite knowing this those, after seeing the gleam of determination to not give up, Bunny decided not to forfeit. They couldn't attack, but they could still stay in the battle, at least for a little while!
"Diana, use leer, as much as you can!" Bunny shouted, slowly beginning to smile. They had already lost, but everyone wins in the end, right? Might as well make it a show!
Fist bumping, only once, she pulled her arm to her side and grinned, "That's it! Good job! I knew you had it in you." Did she feel a little bad, of course she felt somewhat remorseful due to the fact that her pokemon had disabled it. It was a gut sinking feeling, one that she had witnessed at least once before.
But they weren't out of the ballpark yet. There was always a chance that the pokemon in front of her still had the ability to get out of its predicament. She had four turns to knock this Dratini out, four turns to get at LEAST four hits off. Mayze could do that right? Determination lit her face ablaze and she pointed.
"Now that She's disabled, tackle, tackle as much as you can." Although the pokemon was still paralyzed, Penelope held high hopes for her Mazye. Her new addition would work perfectly on her team.
Rushing forward, The pokemon attacked with all her might, trying to land something on the still dratini.

I WILL GRAB MY FREEDOM WITH MY OWN HANDS.
This was it, the final countdown! Bunny and Diana shared one more passionate look to each other, her pokémon battered and beaten, and then prepared themselves. Mayze slammed into Diana once, then twice, and Diana went sliding through the dirt. As a small dust cloud began to dissipate, Bunny hurried to her Dratini and gingerly picked up the fainted pokémon. Altogether, it wasn't as much damage as she thought it was. Mayze's tackles must have just barely been able to strip Diana's health down enough so she could faint. All in all, it was a pretty good battle!
After, very carefully, situating Diana into her arm, Bunny held out a hand to Penelope and gave her a wide grin. "That was really awesome! I was not expecting you to use disable, it was really smart! And Mayze seems like she's really strong and resilient for such a young pokémon, you got really lucky. Congrats!"
Diana began to stir slightly in Bunny's arms, and the trainer began to gently pet her slender body. "Sorry, but I'm gonna need to head back to Littleroot soon so I can heal her." Smiling back up to Penelope, she said, "I really hope we can keep in touch, though! Do you have any way for us to keep in contact?"
She hit them both? Trying not to show shock, the girls face pinked up a bit as she stepped forward, once, letting Bunny grab her pokemon first before walking herself over to Mayze. "That was amazing little girl! I knew you had it in you." Running her hand along the soft purple fuzz, she let her pokemon nuzzle against into her palm. She glowed, letting Eclairage jump forward and nuzzle against her sister.
Standing back up, she beamed brightly. "It was fun! I'm so glad for you have joined me for a battle, your Dratini is strong. I am surprised you didn't get the better of us." Pulling one hand behind her head, she gently ran a hand through her hair, smiling sheepishly. "I didn't see that thunder wave coming. Im so used to being immune with Eclairage." Penelope looked down, Pichu nuzzling into Venonats face.
"OH, yes, of course." Pulling her pokephone out, she gently wrote the number down on a scrap piece of paper and gently handed it to her. "You can reach me there, and you can reach Chandra with the number underneath that. She's my friend with the Dratini." Taking a step back, she looked down at the dratini and smiled.
"The next time that we meet, we should have another battle, when our pokemon are stronger, to see how they have grown. Maybe even a full on battle." She nodded, bringing Mayze into her pokeball and attaching it to her hip. The two needed to go to a pokemon center as well, but they would be heading in the opposite direction. "It was so great to meet you, I can't wait to see you and Diana again." She leaned down, picking up Eclairage and turning back around. "Good luck with your training, and your competitions! You're going to be great I know it."
