Okay, Bunny was pretty flighty. She lost her way on Route 101 at least three times, and it was basically a straight line to Oldale. But she couldn't help it! There were so many new trainers, and so many pokémon to discover! How couldn't somebody get distracted?
But okay, alright, now she had to focus. There was a festival happening in Petalburg, and she planned to be there in no less than a couple of days, so she needed to get this training over and done with! So in a mad dash she left the Oldale Pokémon Center and went straight to Route 102 in hopes to find some new pokémon to battle and capture.
"I wonder if there'll be any different pokémon here than on Route 101..." she quietly mused to herself. "I sure hope so.... I feel like we saw ever leaf, tree, and rock back by Littleroot... eheh...." She rubbed the back of her head and looked to the bright blue sky, wondering if there would be any pokémon soaring through the clouds.
"Tiiiiini," Diana seemed to agree in an exasperated tone. The Dratini was currently held in Bunny's arms, wrapped around one of them like a large snake. The first few days with Diana, the trainer had felt rather sore by the time she went to bed, but now she seemed to be getting used to it.
"Okay, so, we should keep an eye out for any pokémon, but we should probably also map our way around so we don't get lost, right?" Diana nodded at her trainer before looking at their surroundings. "Okay, we came from that direction, I think I can see Oldale from here. This Route doesn't look as straight, though, so we should probably be a little more cautious... aha....."
They walked around for a little while, and at some point Bunny found herself situated on the ground with her Dratini and summoned her newly-caught Dedenne, Dolly, out into the fresh air to play a game of catch.
The two pokémon dashed back and forth through the patches of grass and foliage, chasing a ball and bringing it back to Bunny to through in growing competition. Luckily the two pokémon seemed to get along together, though Dolly had a tendency to shock whoever was around on accident when she got excited. Bunny didn't mind though, and for the most part, Diana didn't either. It was when the tiny Dedenne tried to get all of Bunny's attention did the Dratini get jealous.
"Aw, aren't you cute! Yes, yes you are, what a cute little Dolly you are!" Bunny said as she held the Dedenne close to her face and pressed her nose to its own. Dolly squeaked happily in delight, sending tiny shocks down her trainer's fingertips and making her hair stand literally on end. Giggling, Bunny saw as Diana sulked about a foot away and waved her over. "Aw, c'mon now Diana, don't be a Ditto Downer!"
everyone back at home has been saying how bad he smelled. it hurt his feelings. he can't help it! so he left them. those losers don't deserve him anyways. he walked along the route and accidentally bumped into a trainer. he let out a nasty poison gas attack on accident!
Bunny had been so caught up in throwing the ball and taking the ball and throwing the ball and taking the ball that she didn't even notice the little Stunky walking up behind her. This time Dolly had been the first to return with the ball, Diana quick on her tail. Bunny was preparing to toss the ball farther away than before, prepping with her arm back, when the small skunk pokémon bumped into her back.
It wasn't until she turned around did the smell fully hit her, and it took a second or two of resisting the urge to gag for her to quickly pinch her nose and look at the pokémon with squinted, teary eyes. Diana and Dolly were both doing the same, as much as possible, but they both seemed to become instantly much more sluggish as if they were poisoned.
But the poor Stunky seemed embarrassed and flustered, not like it meant to let out the move. So Bunny tried her best to look like she wasn't that affected by it and unplugged her nose, resorting to breathing only through her mouth. "Aw, hey cutie, it's okay! Are you alright, did you hurt anything when you bumped into me? Want a poképuff?" It was much harder to talk than she thought it would be, but she hoped that it wasn't noticeable to the Stunky, because she really was trying to keep it from feeling too bad.
oh man oh man. he didn't mean to release the poison gas attack! luckily the trainer was kind and realized it was an accident. he nodded when the trainer offered a pokepuff. he kept his eyes on the two pokemon, though. he can never be too sure.
The smell was awful, to be honest — Bunny could feel it burning in the back of her throat. But she really, really didn't want the Stunky to feel bad about such a little mistake! When she saw the pokémon nod excitedly for a treat, she reached into her bag and pulled out a pink poképuff for it to munch on. Holding it out to the Stunky, she left enough room for it to come as close to her as it wanted, but still have plenty of space.
When the Stunky began munching on it's little treat, Bunny began to tell the smell was dissipating, though slowly. The air was getting less thick and hard to swallow. But her pokémon were huddled together, eyes pinched in pain as they continued to be poisoned. Dolly began to grumble to herself quietly, but Bunny was quick to shush her.
"Be nice, Dolly, it was an accident. Diana and I aren't rude to you when you accidentally shock us!" This seemed to keep the Dedenne quiet.
Turning back to the Stunky just as it finished, Bunny looked it over. "You're a cutie, aren't you? Would you like to join me and my team on my journey? We plan on becoming a famous Coordinating team in contests. We'd really enjoy your company, if you'd like to come with." She was sure the Stunky didn't fully understand her words, but regardless, she'd rather be nice to it and ask its consent before simply making it faint and capturing it!
the stunky kept his eye on the dedenne. it was clear the yellow mouse didn't like stunky very much. but stunky munched on the treat. he nodded when the trainer started speaking again. he didn't know what she was saying, but he bet it was something good!
Bunny felt alight with glee as the pokémon settled easily into one of her pokéballs and became one of her team!
She turned to her other pokémon, and seeing them suffering with poisoning made her feel sympathetic for snapping a little at Dolly. So Bunny pulled out two full heals and sprayed them on the Dedenne and Dratini respectfully, making sure to cover the entire affected area (so basically their whole bodies) and hoped that they weren't too offended that she took a little longer trying to befriend the little Stunky. She'd have to think of a name for the little guy soon. Preferably something that didn't relate to flatulence.
With that, Bunny stood up and decided to continue her small travel through Route 102, still searching for more pokémmon! She wondered just what she'd bump into next as Diana and Dolly followed closely behind, on watch for anything suspicious.
the cherubi sat up high in the tree watching trainers pass by. then a strong gust of wind came and blew the poor cherubi off her branch! she landed in front of a trainer and started crying.
It didn't take long before a strong gust of wind came by and a little Cherubi landed about five feet away! The little pokémon started wailing loudly, and in shock, Bunny ran up to it without a moment's notice.
"Oh my goodness, baby, are you okay? Shhhhhh, cutie, it's okay, you're fine, do you need a poképuff to calm down?" Bunny crouched down beside it and pulled out another poképuff, this time orange, in hopes to sway the Cherubi's concentration and cheer it up a little. She would have to make more of these little suckers.
the trainer's voice managed to calm her down enough so she stopped crying. she jumped up to her feet and took the pokepuff. delicious! it cheered her up instantly. who knew trainers were this nice? she finished it up and hopped over to the trainer, asking for another. and maybe the trainer would want to take her along with her on her journey?
The Mareep practically leaped out of the tall grass and rammed into Diana with a tackle. Both the Dratini and her trainer were much too shocked to dodge, but Bunny was quick to regain her composure.
" Double up on Ice Beam!"
Diana complied almost instantly, as if in sync with her trainer, and shot a huge shard of ice from her mouth directed to the Mareep. As soon as she was able, Diana attempted to get another shot of Ice Beam in to really lower the opposing Mareep's health.
out from a bush came a mareep! he was really angry and needed to vent his anger out. aha! a trainer and her pokemon. perfect. mareep growled at the dratini and tried to ram it with a tackle attack.
mareep used growl! mareep used tackle! BUNNY BECKETT
Both Bunny and Diana were disappointed when one of the Ice Beams failed to make their mark, but they didn't know real worry until the Mareep's Thunder Wave hit! Although electric moves weren't all that effective on dragon types like Diana, the Dratini still became paralyzed and stiffened with effort.
"Try to use Ice Beam again, you can do it!"
But Diana couldn't! The paralysis was too strong, she just couldn't will herself, she couldn't —
"I believe in you! Ice Beam!"
There was a waver in the way that Diana felt, a weakness in the barrier, and she found herself just able to shoot out one more Ice Beam!
