ENDINGS WITHOUT END ► it seems paper-thin ◄ |
Dexter simply shrugged nonchalantly, not necessarily able to argue but he personally couldn't say it was all that exciting. That and he hadn't really done himself much good back in Kanto, which was why he really needed this new start. At least, that was how his uncle had described it and he didn't object at all, far more interested in the idea of travelling. And look at him, he was already making friends... sort of. The old man would be proud at any rate, happy that Dex didn't run the kid... er... small adult off right away with his attitude and bad manners. Too early to really say for sure, though. Dexter still had plenty of time to fuck it up. But he'd try to be nice, keep his snarky mood unwanted sarcasm to himself for a bit. Keyword being try. Dexter's brows furrowed as he subtly brought up his little flaw again, that cheeky smile not helping at all. "You just caught me on an off day." he excused, crossing his arms again like the stubborn brat he was. But Kohaku was probably right. At the very least, he couldn't possibly get any worse and perhaps as his journey progressed he'd finally learn how to read a map. Not likely. But a guy could dream! "I'm sure it's fun though." he began, dropping the frustration for a moment as he thought more about it. "Aside from the delays, I've been enjoying it so far." he admitted. New place, new faces, it was just really refreshing and something that he hadn't realized was much needed. He could honestly do without getting lost though. Kohaku was just fortunate he caught him in a less agressive mood, otherwise this arrangement might have not even been possible. He shrugged that off though. Nothing bad happened so there was nothing to worry about. It was hardly a serious question, but Kohaku just rolled with it anyway and Dexter could only shake his head in mild amusement. He was about to say something as well before the shorter male spoke, pointing out the road up ahead. Don't ask him how he started from here and ended up clear on the opposite side of the small town. He really wouldn't know how to explain it anyway. "About time." the teenager sighed though appeared rather happy to see the correct path now. Hopefully this time travelling the road wouldn't be so fucking frustrating. He wasn't about to get his hopes up though, but could only pray this guy knew where he was going. Guess he'd find out soon enough. "Goodbye, Littleroot. I'll hardly miss ya." he muttered under his breath. |

508 words At Dex’s words about being caught on an off day Kohaku could only laugh, a little shake of his head and a grin curling his lips as he quipped playfully, “Yes of course I did.” Because he didn’t practically admit earlier that maps or directions weren’t really his forte. However, Kohaku let it go with that and decided not to push it further and possibly annoy his new traveling companion even more. There’d be time for that in the future as they got to know each other and Dex got more comfortable with him. He let out a little thoughtful hum at that deciding it would probably be interesting to see if Dex would open up to him in the future considering everything. Rose-pink eyes glanced over at the young man for a moment with an amused look before he focused on what he was actually saying. A small grin curled his lips at the young man’s words about enjoying it so far and it slowly melted into a warm smile as he murmured, “That’s good, adventurous like these are meant to be enjoyed and honestly…” He laughed a little giving Dex a cheeky grin as he turned backwards again to walk and look at him as he spoke. “What’s wrong with a few detours and getting lost a bit? Shouldn’t that all be a part of the adventure?” Of course once or twice he himself had gone of the trail and while he hadn’t gotten lost per say the petite male had certainly learned a thing or two about how surprising things happened if you just let them and took a few detours. Kohaku let out a little amused snort at Dex’s words, shaking his head but laughing at the obvious relief in them. It was seriously a wonder as to how he even ended up where he’d ended up but then again Kohaku guessed it would be pretty easy to get turned about. Thankfully the path itself once you found it, was pretty simple to follow so they shouldn’t have too much trouble getting to Oldale not that he was here. Kohaku took out the map just in case and chirped up helpfully, “It shouldn’t take us too long to get to Oldale, a few hours tops if we don’t meet anyone trying to battle us.” He glanced back at the brunette with a little grin that clearly said the other was about to be teased again. “Ready to officially begin your journey and get into Oldale??” With a little laugh he stepped forward and out of Littleroot, maybe by the time they got to Oldale, they’d even have some new pokemon. @dex / fin~ | I Might Seem so S trong but I've Never been so W rong |
