we're currently about to host calamity's first contest in slatepor. trainers are flocking to the city to see, the city's been trying to get good pr since the gala, and it seems to be working! they're asking for both coordinators and volunteer judges to sign up.
CALAMITY is a roleplaying forum inspired by the popular franchise POKEMON, which does not belong to us. the skin was crafted by PHARAOH LEAP of GANGNAM STYLE. special thanks to SPIRAL for contributing ideas! all art on the forum does not belong to us unless stated otherwise, while all written works belong to the members who posted them. the swarm collectively reel back as the pokemon attack again. one of them is fried to fainting. another is intoxicated from the sweet, pink wind. the last of the brethren squirms nervously, but then she can hear the tell-tale buzzing of a beedrill, and she's instantly relieved.
together the pair fight to the last of the ability. weedles fires a glob of string shot at the trainers while beedrill fires of a series of fury attacks from its stringer.
weedle (2x) have fainted! each trainer has 2 levels to distribute
your eyes were elsewhere. you didn't notice this sooner, but as soon as you turn your eyes to the direction needed. string shot was headed straight for you. fear strikes you easily. your arms go up, and you shut your eyes. jerry leaps up and pushes you out of the way. knocking you backwards.
out of breath, it was quite fast. jerry the pansear lets out a noise to you, to say he was alright. you're not cut out for this, this you knew. but you still stay in the organisation. for the money to send back home and also for the ability of you to travel from place to place with no problem at all.
shaken just a bit, you stand. your body shakes still. you can do it. right? uncertainty fills you a bit as you look at the beedrill. it's quite big for a bug. swirlix goes in this time. disorientated for a bit, you stand your ground. there's no way you're going to lose. there's no time for it.
"s-strawberry...u-use fairy wind, t-two times." you can be strong, just like the other two, right?

I WILL GRAB MY FREEDOM WITH MY OWN HANDS.
Sam takes a sharp inhail at the sound of buzzing wings, and turns around just in time to miss the second round of string shot that was fired out. He feared this would happen, and yet his shock had been towards seeing only one Beedrill and not a swarm.
He takes a moment to recuperate, his Sewaddle was tied from the stringshot and was nibbling away at the silk to try and free himself. Sam opened his mouth to try and call out an order to his pokemon, but abruptly closed it when the Beedrill launched stingers towards the pokemon. "Dodge it, now!" He called out in panic, the pokemon, and it managed to miss it by a sliver; the fury attakck cutting through the string; leaving it vulnerable.
Fury attack was a multiple hitting move, however, and so it kept firing. In spur of the moment, Sam instinctively leaped up and grabbed onto a low branch of the tree with his cuffed hands, spun around and leaped off the tree to catch his sewaddle. In the process, he shielded the blow with his nature-made cuffs; causing the stinger to cut the string enough for it to be shaken off.
On the way back down, Sam ducked into himself and rolled before sprawling back open with a pokeball in one hand, and his sewaddle held in the other arm. The pokemon he called out was his Litwick, though at the moment his original intention of burning down the forest was nonexistant. "Wisp use ember on the beedrill. Monarch, if you're feeling okay then try and see if you can help take down the rest of the Weedle. If you can't get to them help Wisp with the Beedrill." Upon saying this he helped take as much of the string wrapped around his Sewaddle as possible. It was super thick and it was difficult, but at least he could move enough to attack again.
The battle plan was set, and Monarch shot another stringshot into the air, swinging around to try and tackle the nearest opponent he could get to. Wisp on the other hand only floated up slightly so that it could get a clear enough angle of the Beedrill and fired an ember at it, however instead of setting out another one a small swirling flame came out heading in the bee's direction as well; it was fire spin.

THE TRUTH SHALL SHINE UPON EVERYTHING EVENTUALLY. . .
Dylan looked around hearing an obnoxious buzzing sound. "The heck is that?" He muttered quietly as he looked around to find the source of the buzzing which only grew louder and louder each passing second. "Seriously, the heck is that?" He added, the buzzing sound was right on top of him, he glanced up to see a giant bee floating above him targeting another grunts Pokémon. "Whoa. . . That's a big bug."
Dylan looked over at the last Weedle and the female grunt on the floor, she didn't look like the kind of girl who battled a lot, but needed whatever the mission's reward was, he then looked over at the male grunt who had his hands tied, literally and was about to go against the giant bug thing. "Scan it first, attack second." Dylan said quietly scanning the Beedrill.
"Beedrill, the Poison Bee Pokémon, Beedrill is extremely territorial. No one should ever approach its nest-this is for their own safety. If angered, they will attack in a furious swarm. They fly at violent speeds, all the while stabbing with the toxic stinger on its rear." The PokéDex informed Dylan.
"Swarms? There's only one. . . Better take out all these bugs quickly." Dylan muttered looking back and forth between the other grunts. "Ah screw it, Thunder Shock!" He commanded and pointed at both the Weedle Fiona was fighting, and the Beedrill Sam was fighting, hurling a jolt of electricity at both enemy Pokémon.

all of the bugs went down. the beedrill and weedle lay on the ground, unconcious. it's then that the magma grunt teleports in. she praises them for their success.
"alright, that's good for today, you can catch one of the pokemon or just leave it."
weedle and beedrill have fainted! each trainer has 4 levels to distribute
it's already over. you felt a bit relief in your chest. hopefully this would be another training session you pass with flying colours. after all, from what you remember, at the base they were serving udon. you favourite food to have when you always comes back from a hard days work.
you look over at the pokémon, should you take it? weedles and a single beedrill. to your own judgement. you don't like bug pokémon, considering that they just plainly scare you easily. especially beedrills. with their rather long drills for hands almost! you pokémon return to you as you then give them a quick peck on the cheek for a good job.
in your respect. you don't catch the pokémon. let the magma trainers have their way with them. you glance over at the two boys. one of them you recognise as dice. the boy you met at the magma base when he came over. and the other person...? you look at your swirlix who looks at you with big eyes. "u-uhm..." your voice soft. "g-good job..."
The Beedrill went down faster than he thought, with the help of the other trainers. That was a huge relief on his part, and he started feeling greatful that he was part of a Team again. His relief was short lived when their mission greater teleported in, making him raise an eyebrow in confusion. Wasn't the teleporter suppose to only be for teleporting them to and out of magma base? It couldn't take that long to walk into Petalburg from where she had been, could it?
He sighed and fell into relaxation again. "Fall back Wisp, Monarch." He ordered, and his pokemon returned so that they were stationed near him once again. There was a brief pause and Sam took the time to monitor the pokemon littering the forest floor. Taking a step forward with a pokeball, he casually threw it at the fainted Beedrill. Eh, why not? He only had 3 pokemon at his disposal, he could use something more to rely on than just Monarch and Wisp. His Ditto was too under-leveled right now too, and having something to training-wheel it would be useful. "I'll take the Beedrill. Do whatever with the Weedle." He spoke up, hoping the others in the vicinity would hear him.
Now while Sam was a very outgoing and social person, he would often go back to his original nature of being self-secluded. It was mostly for cover purposes, and while he could care less if other magma members recognized him, he definitely didn't want to get all buddy-friendly with many of them for the purpose that it'd hinder his social life outside of the team. He'd been rejected enough as a child, he didn't need to throw himself back into that hole. It wasn't that he didn't notice when the nervous girl from earlier speak up, despite the conversation not being directed at him. Dice somehow rang a bell, the name was familiar but he was sure it was only known through eavesdropping of magma gossip.
A small whine made him break out of his musings, and he gave a grin under his hood. "Don't tell me you're PMSing still Wisp." The joke was immature, he knew that, but he could care less. "More friends leads to better situational advantages, you should know that." He stuck his tongue out at Wisp, and she stuck hers back out too, his Sewaddle rolled his eyes. "See? Monarch agrees you should stop being jealous." Small hearty laughter broke out at his pokemon's reaction, but died down quickly again because he remembered just saying he didn't want to get caught.

Dylan sighs with relief. "Success. . . Missions over. . ." He mutters quietly and looked at his Elekid with a smile. "We did it! Woo!" He exclaims and his Elekid nods smiling back at his trainer, The Electric Pokémon was whirling it's arms rapidly. He quickly leaps onto Dylan's shoulders and smiles even more. "Eeeeeeleeekid!!!" The Electric Type shouts with glee, pounding it's fist against it's chest.
Dylan then looks towards the other two grunts. He notices Fiona at first a nods towards her with a wave. "Howdy." He says to her following up with a smile. "You did a good job out there." His eyes than shift to the other grunt. He is currently catching the Beedrill "I guess he really wanted it." Dylan shrugs and sends a thumbs up his way. "Nice job you too."
Static - Lv.09 - Healthy Elekid celebrates the success!
