She was late! Late, late, late, late, late! Just her luck, she stayed up late to study the caves and everything that resided in them and ended up sleeping in! What a dunce! Bunny had been looking forward to the event for a whole week and the day of it, she was late!
She was at a full sprint, running through Route 104 with Diana clinging almost painfully to her shoulders. By how today was looking, she probably missed every tour, and she was going to have to go without seeing the Petalburg caves until the next time the festival comes around.
Bunny turned the corner into the caves and almost cried in relief. There was a ranger, her tour guide. Swallowing huge gasps of air, she doubled over and laughed quietly until she gathered her breath. Standing up again, she wiped her forehead and looked at the ranger to apologize. "I'm sorry to have kept you waiting, I slept in super late on accident. I hope I didn't keep you or the rest of the group wait—...ing...." Only then did she notice that nobody else in the group had arrived.
"Did they already leave?" She asked worriedly, more to herself than to the ranger. "Or am I just early to the latest showing...?"
But then she realized that talking without an introduction would be rude, especially since the ranger had introduced herself. "Oh, I'm Bunny, by the way! And this is Diana," she took the Dratini from her shoulders and moved it to her arms. She was going to be sore tomorrow.
It wasn’t her ideal situation, tardiness wasn’t a member of the vocabulary in her books, yet it could have been accepted given the fact that her lateness was very much due to the fact that she was busy with work. Fortunately, it was one of those days where she wasn’t assigned to do something that would make her feel completely like criminal trash, just simply scouting out the area for one reason or another. At least as an added bonus she got to see a Pokémon which she hadn’t caught before, of course attempt to do so but failing so miserably. And now the teen would find herself sprint-walking all the way to the set destination of the event with her Togepi in her arms, wishing that it hadn’t begun or at least finished yet but at this moment such a thing wouldn’t surprise her.
Her dishevelled hair would flutter in the wind with each step, as trudges would soon renounce as she eventually came to the sandy areas of the beach, from there it was an obvious sight of what should’ve been a crowd full of people was just thinned out to a small amount. A sigh of displeasure escaped her mouth as although there happened to be a ranger there it was more than likely that she was just there to inform people to no enter and such. Still, curious she made her way over to the scene, posture more calm yet still looking as if she woke up on the wrong side of the bed due to all the physical activity that she just already had today. Her eyes would settle upon a teen, looking about her own age, perhaps a bit younger give or take and she seemed energetic, perhaps even more than Faye normally would be.
“I’m quite curious about the scenario at hand myself actually; it would seem that I have arrived quite late myself.” She would enter, butting into the conversation. “Though it would seem plausible that we have arrived too late to join in the festivity of an investigation, perhaps we can simply wait on the others, unless of course I’m mistaken and we still do have a chance to explore the unknown.” A brief pause, folding her arms as she would take a glance at the ranger and at the teenager, “Oh, excuse my manners but my name is Faye, this young child in my hands is Chip.” Chip, the Togepi was simply in the arms of his trainer snoozing, seeming to enjoy the comforts of the so snuggly embrace.
"welcome everyone." she smiles at the ones who've showed up late. this is supposed to be the last of the group, and then she's finally done.
the cave is cool and dank. they stop at the split path. both look equally daring, dim lights lining the sides of the cave. but the right is labelled 'B' while the left is labelled 'S'. deanna has no idea what that means. she turns towards the people for a group vote.

Bunny nearly jumped at a new voice in the cave entrance, turning to find an attractive young woman striding in with a cutie Togepi in her arms. "Oh, wow," she said in awe at the tiny egg pokémon. Then, in a bit of a fluster, she continued, "Oh! I don't know if you heard me, but I'm Bunny Beckett, and this is Diana," she nudged the Dratini in her arms, who yawned and gave a tiny "tini" in greeting.
Bunny was also beginning to worry about the possibility of completely missing her chance and having to wait for the other groups to return when the Ranger announced that they were going to be entering. Overwhelmed with excitement, Bunny squeezed the Dratini in her arms gently and took in all she could of the cave despite the darkness. There was enough light for her to notice certain larger details, though.
"Wow," she said, once again speechless. "This is amazing...."
And then the trail diverged into two, and Ranger Deanna asked for them to chose which to go down. "Um..." Bunny mumbled to herself, rubbing her chin and biting her lip. "What do you think, Diana?"
Bunny looked to her Dratini, who squinted at both of the paths and then pointed to one in particular with determined eyes. Bunny giggled and said, "Okay, we say B!"
deanna smiles and waves, leading them down path b. she quickly regrest it however, as she spots the fallen form of the lairon a bit far off in the distance. the rest of the rangers still haven't taken care of it.
"u-uh let's go quick." she stutters, before they come across a wall. she rattles off the riddle like it's the back of her hand. "i'll go scooping up anything that fits in this bill, and spit out water." she says.
it's then that she notices that their team has grown a little since they've started. the ranger focuses her flashlight on the form of hippopotas, blinking like there's nothing wrong. that's strange. she's never encoutered a friendly wild pokemon in these caves.

She followed the Ranger without much on her mind besides the beauty of the natural cave system. Ranger Deanna seemed to be headstrong about quickly maneuvering through the path, though, so Bunny wondered idly if there was something even more lovely and beautiful up ahead.
She gasped quietly to herself, covering her mouth as the body of a pokémon loomed in the slight distance. She could just barely make it out. "Oh my gosh," she whispered, "is that a sleeping Lairon?! That's amazing." Bunny squinted at it through the darkness, still following Deanna's quick strides until it disappeared from her view.
Diana shivered in Bunny's hands, and she gave her a reassuring pet down her body. "Aw, are you scared of the dark, girl? It's okay, I've gotcha." Bunny didn't realize the Lairon was deceased, and that that had been the actual cause for the Dratini's discomfort.
Bunny pondered the riddle until they come upon a wall. Well. This wasn't all that exciting?
"Are you talking about a Pelipper?" she mumbled, slowly averting her gaze from the tall wall to Deanna, only to see a tiny little hippo-like pokémon had joined their party. "Oh!"
Bunny quickly pulled out her pokédex, shifting Diana into only one hand as she scanned the pokémon. Once she was done, she exclaimed, "So you're a Hippopotas!" Bunny grinned kindly down to the pokémon, kneeling beside it. "Well aren't you a cutie, huh? Are you all by yourself?"
oh god, this girl is too innocent. deanna appreciates that -- more than her previous group. ugh, this job is horrible. she wears a thin smile and moves onto the next portion of the cave.
"correct!" deanna says. the cave opens, and then she turns her attention to the hippopotas next to them.
"you can either befriend it or make it go away or something, i don't know."
[attr="class","rbtxtbr2"]Bunny mouthed another "wow" as the cave opened after she announced the correct answer to the riddle. She looked back down to Dianna, and then to the Hippopotas.
"You can come with me if you want to buddy," she said to it with a giggle, pulling out a pokéball for it to accept if it wanted to. Bunny didn't like to force any pokémon to come with her, but she suspected the friendly little thing wouldn't mind too much.
After that was done, Bunny continued to follow Ranger Deanna through the rest of the cave. She oohed and ahhed the whole way through, too, despite the lights being dim and the variety little. She just liked the change of atmosphere. Although it was no match to the Glittering or Reflection Caves of Kalos, at least by what she had heard. She'd never really visited either of them, but this was close enough for her.

From afar, Sylvester could hear the voices creeping out from deeper in the cave. With a flashlight in hand, he kept it pointed towards the ground, as to not alarm any of the resting bat pokemon he was forewarned about. Step by step he proceeded forward, making his way towards the sounds. Suddenly he saw a Lairon, at least that's what his Pokedex told him. Since it was still, he paid it little attention, noticing the Ranger and the others standing just before an opening. "I hope I am not too late to partake?"
Sylvester turned off his flashlight, placing it within his right coat pocket before brandishing his pokedex once more to identify what this other pokemon was—a hippopotas. While not exceptionally intrigued, it was a good thing, as the other girl showed enough interest to show her the pokeball. There would be no struggle to see who got to capture it for their own. However, the same could not be said for any other pokemon who showed up in the cave.
"nice." deanna says. the hippopotas is sucked into the pokeball, the button shining blue. she smiles at the newcomer. "of course not, come along."
then out of nowhere she hears a surge of water come at them. deanna yells as it makes contact and sends her stumbling back. she points at the hidden far into the distance.
"get it!"
the group encounters an unknown pokemon defeat the pokemon!
[attr="class","rbtxtbr2"]Bunny pocketed the newly-filled pokéball and then looked up to the new addition to their party with a bright "Oh, hi!" to greet them. Then her focus split to Ranger Deanna, who had toppled slightly as there was suddenly a rush of water from down the cave!
Gasping, Bunny nearly panicked. Diana squirmed out of her arms immediately, and it wasn't until the Dratini splashed into the water did Bunny realize that she should probably initiate a battle with the unknown pokémon.
"Everyone, try to get you and your pokémon out of the water if you can!" she yelled, through out a pokéball and releasing a Dedenne. She couldn't really waste any time looking to see if the others had followed her commands before yelling at her pokémon in a desperate frenzy, "Thunder Wave, Thunder Shock!"
Diana and Dolly unleashed a force of electric waves through the water, both hitting Bunny with great gusto. She tensed and squinted at her team in pain, trying to see what the heck was hiding out in the shadows. She hoped they hadn't hurt anyone else.

The imminent surge of water that engulfed the Ranger was barreling right towards Sylvester and the other trainer. Noticing a stalagmite to his side, Sylvester braced himself, the impact of the water unable to knock him back. "Ahhh, what a pain!" He generally did not like water, whatsoever.
Unfortunately, Sylvester's pokemon would not do well in water either. It was fortunate he choose not to summon Marley, however, as a surge of electricity ripped through the water. Unable to do more than exclaim "Ouch!", his muscles and body tensed up, still reluctant to let go of his hold on the rock. He stared forth at the source of the water, retrieving his pokedex from his inner coat pocket and aiming it in the direction of the hidden pokemon. What on earth could it be, in a cave like this...?
deanna focuses her light on the source of the water and unveils a...bidoof? deanna looks at it, dumbfounded before it suddenly rolls into a ball and launches towards them. she dives to the side, looking back in a mixture of fear and confusion.
"a-are you serious?"

"Wow..." Sylvester would have never thought it would be this, of all pokemon. Not only did it appear harmless, but it even looked humorous the way it rolled towards them—though by the way the ranger avoided the Bidoof, there was no mistake that Sylvester should do the same. However, with the other trainer and her pokemon in the way, Sylvester simply slipped the pokedex back into his pocket and spectated the events that followed.
Sylvester anticipated sending his pokemon out to battle. Yet, he gave the other trainer her common courtesy—she summoned her pokemon first, and with that she would get the first chance to battle and capture it. Sylvester only hoped a move from her pokemon wouldn't hurt him again, as the last two seemed to leave a pin needle feeling in his nerves. Electric pokemon were certainly interesting, and quite powerful.
