[attr="class","quinnscroll"] Quinn wasn't too sure if she should be happy or disappointed in her Dragon type. She stood in the middle of the path while Goober ran circles around her. It was amazing how much energy the Goomy had. Quinn wasn't sure if she could keep up. Or if she could keep her sanity. The Goomy was a little too... energetic for her, but it wasn't like Quinn was going to give her up either. Even though Goober was hard to keep up with, she was still a Dragon type. However, Quinn was having trouble seeing how Goober can be a powerful dragon.
Despite all of Goober's quirks, Quinn had a slight fondness towards her. But it was time to get going, and hopefully, Goober wore herself out. The Goomy was still running circles around her, and she had been for a good 15 minutes or so. Goober had to be tired by now, didn't she? "Alright, Goober, come on. We gotta get going." Quinn said, stepping out of the excited Goomy circle. However, instead of following Quinn, Goober simply continued running around in circles. Quinn turned around, raising a brow and walking back, reaching her arms out to try and pick up the Dragon. "Okay, enough is enough, come on!" She hissed.
If anyone were to cross paths with Quinn, it would be a humorous sight. Quinn was chasing Goober around in circles, zigzags, you name it. For such a small Pokemon, Goober was fast. And whenever Quinn had a hold of her, she slipped out and ran the other way. Finally, after a few moments, Quinn stopped in her tracks and stomped her foot on the ground. "Argh! Goober, stop it!" She yelled. Was the Goomy ever gonna run out of energy?
The taste left in his mouth. Sweetness in the sugars. Is there a need to satisfy his partner? Doesn't matter now right? Simon's never satisfied. Never satisfied with a single woman in his life. Sleep. Sleep. A turn in for the games of anything and everything. When he left Magma he released all of his pokémons associated with that organisation.
Sweetness. The taste in his mouth. A lick of his lips. Sour apples left in the lingering of his own mouth. The taste of rich, a cake filled in the lies of being a fake. He likes it. A filling for him as he walks. The delectable feeling of longing. He wants it, desires it more than anything.
A taste for him. A delectable sweetness left in the bitterness of a sour apple. Even the tastes of another can be of sweetest. The woman earlier in his bed, unsatisfying for him. The older they are, the sour they taste. Younger, more satisfying for him. They're better that way.
In order to rest, away from the bugs, he stays in a tree. The breeze, the berries in the trees. Ines the mawile was more the happy to stay where she was. Behind the tree chasing around a ralts. In the back of his mind, he's taken back to the memory of his family, how repulsive am I? A voice in the distance.
He looks down, a girl stomps her foot. A chase after her own pokémon. A bit too far, he swung himself down. His white shirt, thankfully not covering him, just slightly exposing his stomach. His chocolate browns shine and his dirty blonde hung down. He's almost face to face with the girl. A smile is present on him. "Seems like you're having a hard time ma belle," he coos. "Maybe I can be of an assistance for you?"
Simon uses his charm more than anything else in the world. This girl seems a bit of fun in his eyes. He could give it a shot. A rustle from the shrub, his mawile appears. She looks at Simon and then to Quinn, but her eyes rests on Simon in the end. "Ah, Ines, why won't you help out?"
[attr="class","quinnscroll"] Quinn was so focused on Goober she almost didn't react to Simon dropping down in front of her. "Holy...!" Her vision was suddenly blurred and filled with dirty blond hair. Startled, Quinn's eyes grew big and she took a step back. Nearly nose to nose with the new comer, Quinn had to take a moment to get over the shock. Her jaw dropped slightly and she slowly closed it shut, blinking once more and clearing her throat. Quinn tried not to make it obvious that she had been startled, but her flushed face and twitchy arms. Somewhere deep in the back of her mind, Quinn couldn't help but feel like this feeling was familiar in a way.
She turned her gaze to the Mawile and then glanced back to her hyper Goomy, who had taken the time to stop and stare at the two new comers. "I uh," She cleared her throat and swallowed. "I would appreciate the help. She's kind of a slippery one." Quinn wasn't sure if Simon's Mawile would be able to grab onto the slimy Pokemon, but it was worth a shot. Once Goober realized that the Mawile was going after her, she began dashing around in circles once again.
Quinn internally sighed and decided to leave the Goomy and Mawile be. She turned her attention back to Simon, staring at his upside down features. Even though he was upside down, Quinn felt something poking her in the back of her mind. A memory or something, poking at her brain, trying to make her remember. But it was no use. Maybe he just reminded her of someone she once knew. The more she stared at his features, the more she realized he was actually kind of cute. Quinn cleared her throat and took a step back, taking a good look once more and pointing up at the tree behind her. "So, were you in the tree the entire time, or did you just magically appear out of nowhere, mister Smooth Talker?" She questioned, a playful grin appearing on her face.
Sour apples, right? The sensation on his lips that would remain forever. The woman from earlier left him in such a sour taste. Older they are...the sour they taste... His chocolate browns look her over. She looks familiar. Someone from long ago. He blinks...once...twice... Not entirely sure, but as he was about to swing himself down. Ines the Mawile let out a shout, which made him falter a bit, his legs instinctively held onto the branch tighter. "Ah, sorry ma belle, I didn't mean to startle you," he lets out a laugh, tag along with his gorgeous white smile.
Ines went on the hunt to go after the Goomy. Tricky little one. But she doesn't mind to go after the small thing. "I'm sure my Ines will be able to get your Goomy for you, she's the type to never give up." What of you, young belle rosa? His eyes likes what it sees. A nice figure and a rather beautiful face with those ever entrancing blue eyes.
"Actually!" he beams with a grin. "I've only been up here for a bit, see how long it takes for me to get to the next town, but, I somewhat slipped and here I am, your voice kind of startled me, my fault for not remembering that there's always people around the place. Trainers especially, going on and about their way to become one of those great people." He's not one of them. He wishes he was. He swings himself casually, and as he does so, he flips himself back up on the branch, sitting perfectly. "Want to join me up here?"
[attr="class","quinnscroll"] Quinn continued to stare up at Simon's features. Something... something about him was familiar. Was it a good familiar? Or a bad familiar? Quinn didn't entirely know herself. There was no way she knew a complete stranger, right? But she couldn't shake the feeling. If anything, he was just someone she met passing through foster home to foster home. There was nothing more to him... or at least that's what Quinn convinced herself of. "You should think twice before dropping down in front of someone like that. You could give someone a heart attack if you're not careful." She teased, walking closer towards the tree with a grin. Was this what flirting was? Damn, Quinn sort of liked it. Although, in reality, she'd turn to jelly if there was any serious flirting. So young and so naive in romance.
Goober looked at the Mawile as she approached. A goofy smile appeared on the Dragon's face and she took it as a sign that it was play time. She kept herself one step ahead of the Mawile and began laughing as the Mawile approached. Whether or not Ines would take that as a invite to play or a motive to grab the annoying Dragon type was up to her, but Goober simply wanted to play. Quinn glanced back at the ridiculous sight and shook her head. "I wish Ines luck. Despite Goober being a Dragon type, I find it hard to believe she'll be powerful some day." Quinn said, looking back at Simon.
Part of Quinn wished that she just continued down the path of a Trainer. Simon was right. Trainers were meant to be great people, and she was almost on the path to being one of them. But shit happened and here she was. Pretending to be a Trainer until she was called for a mission or something. But being a Trainer didn't pay hospital bills. Even if she somehow made it up in the world, that was all fame. And there was no guarantee Quinn could even get to that level in the first place.
She looked up at the branch Simon was sitting up on. Now that he was upright, Quinn got a good look at his features. And honestly, she liked what she saw. He was quite handsome. The dirty blonde hair and handsome features was enough to make her swoon internally. Although, Quinn did her best to stay calm and collected. But the nagging voice in the back of her head said that she knew him from somewhere. She chose to ignore it however. Quinn smiled and walked to the trunk of the tree, reaching her hand up. "I think I will." She said. "I should know the name of the person I'm getting into a tree with first though. If you tell me yours, then I'll tell you mine."
The sensation at the back of his head. The familiarity between him and her. His throat is caught for only the briefest of moments before he smiles warmly at the girl. She was fascinating with blue eyes. All he can do now is wait for her to come forth and sit right next to him. She looks cute that way... Women who are helpless and below him turns him on a bit. It means he can do almost anything to wind and bind his victim into a thread. Hold her long enough to land a bite. All of this was his own thoughts as he sat where he was. "Yeah," he smiles, his mendacious mask on as he looks her over again. His mind screamed familiarity, but his own stubbornness push it aside once more.
At the corner of his own eyes, he saw how Ines was only annoyed. She was not happy to chase down a slimy creature. A huff, a puff. She goes after the creature, avoiding to touch it as she began to go after it.
Entertainment. Mainly for him as he was a bit distracted. When she spoke again, he snaps his attention back to her. Damn, who is... He smiles at her and takes her hand into his. "Maybe when you're safe on the branch with me, I'll tell you, ma belle." he smiles sweetly to her. He doesn't mind on it. She looks the type the wolf would gobble down in a whole. Pathetic, but fun. Play with me a bit more Little Red. Not much effort from him, he pulls her up with gentle ease. Let her settle first, before his move.
[attr="class","quinnscroll"] She was pulled up with ease. Settling herself beside Simon, Quinn scooted herself closer and let her legs dangle down on the brace. She glanced to the side, getting a good look at his side profile. There was the feeling again, poking the back of her brain. Was the little voice in her head trying to warn her of something? For some reason, the familiar sensation was screaming 'Don't'. She bit the inside of her cheek, staring a little longer than intended at him. Something just wasn't falling in place, and Quinn was desperately trying to piece things together. At this point, she had completely forgotten about her Goomy being chased by Simon's Mawile on the ground below. She shifted her gaze back down to the ground, swinging her legs back and forth alternatively as she placed her hands on the branch. Would it be weird to ask if...? Ah, fuck it. That voice poking at the back of her brain was not going away.
"This might sound weird and out of the blue," Quinn started, tilting her head in his direction. "but have we met before?" There, she asked. Now maybe she could make the sensation go away. He would say no and Quinn would feel embarrassed, but at least she got that question out and she could get her answer and then feel embarrassed about it for the rest of the day. She had no idea why it was bothering her so much either. Maybe he just reminded her of a past friend. He definitely didn't remind her of her brothers. Just who was this mysterious guy?
Internally he's anxious as to who this mysterious girl was. It's bothering him a bit as he tries to think of the girl. Maybe a girl that I slept with? Probably not...she doesn't give me the shivers or the odd standing hairs on the back of my neck like most women would if I knew them previously. He smiles sweetly to the girl. She moves in close to you and as smooth as you are, you put your arms around her waist holding her close. "Taking caution, making sure you don't fall belle rosa," he gives her a toothy grin.
Before making in his own moves, she asked him a question. It was a question he was about to ask after his move. He doubts they've ever met. She's what? Sixteen years old? Too young for his tastes really. Women who are far older, despite their sour tastes, is mainly what he's after. A reassuring smile is on his face. "Ah, I don't know, maybe this would help you to remember then," he leans in close to her to give her a kiss. At the back of his head, a voice screams out "Noooooooo" to him. It wasn't a long kiss of course. It was short and sweet. He made sure he was gentle. "King, at least, that's what most people call me by. But, my name is Simon King, and you ma belle rose?"

[attr="class","quinnscroll"] Quinn was not expecting that. She was expecting the boy to say no and stare down at their Pokemon together. Instead, however, the boy wrapped his arms around her, saying that it was for her safety. She didn't mind it at first, although something screamed at her to just get out of there now. Quinn didn't know what the boy meant when he said maybe this will help her remember. She opened her mouth slightly and tried to speak but soon found herself locked in a short and sweet kiss.
Her eyes grew big and her body froze. That was her first kiss. Her first kiss. Who had stolen it from her? Quinn found herself dumb struck when the boy pulled back, blinking in surprise. And then, he spoke his name.
Ding ding ding!
"S-Simon King?" Quinn stuttered out. She scooted herself a inch away from him and looked him from head to toe, holding herself as if that'd help save her from the shock. "Simon King? That Simon King that lived next door and annoyed me, Quinn Hason, all the time Simon King?" Memories finally began flooding back to her and she now clearly remembered Simon's face. She was almost disgusted with herself that she found him attractive at first. Well he was, but that was a internal battle for another day. The shock on her face quickly turned to annoyance as she gritted her teeth. Her first kiss was just taken away from him! From Simon of all people! Arceus, when was the last time she even saw that boy? Quinn honestly couldn't remember. "You stole my first kiss, UGH!" This definitely wasn't how Quinn wanted to reunite with a childhood friend.
"Ooooh! I can't believe it! You haven't changed one bit!" Quinn spat, her blue eyes piercing through Simon. She scooted herself towards the trunk of the tree, slowly making her way down. Although, Quinn wasn't really making progress. There wasn't much she could do without scraping herself on the way down. At this point, Goober stopped chasing and wound up at the tree, staring upward at the chaotic scene unfolding.
Damn baby. The words he wants to say to the girl. Did she have to be so out of his own tune? Simon can only smile to the girl. At least she was not expecting it. That's a bonus for him. He thought. By the time he finish his kiss to her, the girl was in a daze for a moment. But, his name gave her a new face. One which gave him an enticing flavour left lingering on his lips. He wants more. She stutters his name, removing herself from him and away from where he was in general. A look of disgust and a hint of fear. Simon was unsure of what to think of this. He blinks a few times. She knew him? When and where?
He has no distinct memory of the girl. That is, until she spoke of her name. Quinn Hanson. Quinn? You mean the one girl I often like to tease and sometimes bully just because she has that sort of aura around her? Damn! To think I was going to take her to Oldale and show her a couple of things that not a single person would.
Well, at least he took her first kiss. That's what counts right? Of course it counts! She was just another girl he was going to have another score, right? Fuck that, hell no. That girl can go find someone else. Stupid. "Holy shit, I kissed you and now this? What the fuck, now I need to go cleanse my mouth!"
Repulsive. Disgusting! He was sure she has something from her. Probably something she carries with her. What if she has AIDs? Annoyance. Simon looks her over a bit and jumps down from the branch. "And here I was going to take you to dinner and show you a nice time at the nights of Oldale, ugh, it just had to be you, I stumble upon now."
He was ranting now. Ines the Mawile walks over to Simon, pulling on his pants leg. Wondering what was wrong with him. He dismisses her a bit and glares at Quinn. "Where have you been? I thought you disappeared, not even a single 'Hi Si, I'm not dead' would have been great you know."
[attr="class","quinnscroll"] Quinn growled through her teeth, having a not so easy time getting down from the tree as Simon did. She nearly hissed at him when he showed the same disgust as she did. Kissing her was not that bad... right? Gah, no time to think about things like that. Once Quinn finally did get herself down from the branch, she wiped her mouth with her arm and stuck her tongue out. The two had suddenly gone from two mature teenagers to children once again. Was this what it was like when they were actually kids? She vaguely remembered all the times Simon had taunted and teased her when they were younger, and no matter how many times she tried to hit his shoulder he never stopped.
She turned around, a pout placed on her facial features as she crossed her arms. Shifting her weight to one leg, Quinn glared at Simon as she walked past. "Yeah well, it's not like I wanted to run into anyone I knew right now either. So we're in the same boat there." Quinn grumbled. The 'date' he had in mind was probably dumb anyway. She thought she was gonna get through with this Aqua thing without anyone knowing. Silently she hoped that Simon didn't ask or push for any answers if she slipped somehow. What happened between us again? A voice questioned in the back of her mind. None of the memories Quinn recalled was the two of them getting along. Why was that? Maybe she had just forgotten about them, or Simon did something to fuck up their friendship. Eh, who knows.
As Simon ranted on, Quinn couldn't help but feel a little bit offended. The shock had passed now, and despite the things she had said before, part of her liked seeing a familiar face. Although it wasn't the face she particularly wanted to see but it was still someone she knew. Her emotions and thoughts were getting mixed together and Quinn couldn't sort them out. She shook her head and walked past Simon, standing next to her Goomy. At this point, she was just about to leave and never speak of this again, until Simon mentioned her disappearance.
Quinn paused. Some guilt began to wash over her and she looked over her shoulder at the boy. She was feeling guilty over Simon? What was this? Maybe she had been away from home longer than she liked to admit. It was then she remembered that the two didn't always bicker and argue like this. As they had gotten older, it had just became their normal. Even though she didn't remember much, Quinn knew they did have some good times when they were like kids.
The silence lingered in the air longer than Quinn intended and she sighed. Turning around to face Simon she took a breath. "I'm sorry I disappeared like that, but I have things to take care of. Things that I AM taking care of and -- wait, you thought I was dead?" Interrupting herself, Quinn stopped and stared at Simon. She had gone through at least seven emotions in the past 10 minutes. He thought she was dead? Quinn knew she just sort of got up and left but did that make it seem like she had died? Quinn decided to try and hide her surprise and clear her throat. This reunion was definitely not going smoothly.
More than anything else. Simon thought he was going to die. Well, not literally, more of a figuratively. Quinn Hanson was a girl he did not expect to see en route to Oldale. He was more than willing to get rid of her quickly so he can move on. Forget about her. She's no problem to him. He shouldn't care. When they were small he would often tease her about things like this. This meaning, if she was stuck in a tree he would say to her to jump and he would catch her with no problem. Would he catch her? No. He'd watch her fall, and then he'd help her out.
Simon was only one year older than the girl. His birthday was soon to come by. Would she be willing to celebrate it with him? It's only been five years since he left home and he's always celebrated his birthday by his lonesome. Not even the third remove cousin, Simon was so used to having around, Roman, did not have an acquire taste to be with him.
'Yeah well, it's not like I wanted to run into anyone I knew right now either. So we're in the same boat there.' She grumbles. Whatever did happen to their relationship when they were small? Were they bickering friends? Maybe even enemies who only want to bite each other's neck off? Whatever it was, Quinn must've fucked it up.
She passes him. He looks to her and pauses a bit. Where was she going to go? Oldale? Were they going to the same place as he was? Despite his recent comment of not wanting to see her face. He was happy to see her again. She was someone he knew from the past and he grew accustom to that. He missed her. Dearly. Who else was he supposed to pick on?
She too then pauses. Her back to him as he looks at her. Simon's own memories are a fuzz. He's not entirely sure now. Quinn being back, at least it shows that he was back to his old routine...right?
She turns to face him and Simon's face lights up a bit. Like, hey, yes, look at my beautiful face. She has her stuff to deal with, that he can understand, but, no phone call or even a text? Maybe even a skype message? She could have written to him for all he damned cared! Is it entirely his fault for saying or rather, believing it?
He waits a moment before speaking, a lump in his throat. But he frowns. Only to get a bit angered. "You of all people should know. Text, calling, video message, whatever, you could've written to me you moron," he sighs. "I was wondering where you were, you left me alone. Which, felt like you stabbed me in the back. I thought we were friends, best buddies who watches out for each other's back at all costs. And for you to up and disappear... It was just fucking stupid for you to not say anything about it..." He growls a bit. He's unhappy.
Their reunion is not off to a sweet start. God-fucking-tastic, now I'm pissed.
[attr="class","quinnscroll"] "You of all people should know. Text, calling, video message, whatever, you could've written to me you moron,"
That's when the guilt shot through her like a bullet. In all honesty, Quinn just... didn't think about doing any of that. She blinked a couple of times, trying to take in all that Simon was saying.
"I was wondering where you were, you left me alone. Which, felt like you stabbed me in the back. I thought we were friends, best buddies who watches out for each other's back at all costs. And for you to up and disappear... It was just fucking stupid for you to not say anything about it..."
All Quinn could think of was how stunned she was. She had no clue that what she did would have such an effect on anyone, Simon specifically. They were childhood friends yes, and they were close. But their fallout was... mostly... her fault. Now that Quinn had time to think she remembered clearly what had happened between the two, and it made her feel more guilty than she already was. Quinn closed her jaw and clinched her hand into a fist. The reason that they drifted apart, or at least Quinn thought they had did, was because she was sick of the teasing. But they were young and stupid, and immature for that part. When she had left, Quinn cut off all communication from all of her friends. She rarely talked to her family during that time too. She really fucked up, didn't she?
He growled at the last part, and Quinn was still at a loss for words. Goober growled softly and moved over to Quinn, rubbing her head against Quinn's leg. The gesture was thoughtful, but Quinn didn't even realize it until she looked down. A smile refused to form on her face and Quinn simply bent down and patted the dragon on the head. As she stood up, Quinn bit her lip and forced herself to look Simon in the eye. "I'm sorry, Simon." As soon as she said that, her eyes darted down to her feet. "I had something really important to take care of and I didn't want to get tied down by anyone, and I didn't know that you really... cared that much about me either."
Quinn began rubbing her left arm. She hated knowing she fucked things up really. Even though taking responsibility was the mature thing to do, admitting she messed things up was hard to say. How was she supposed to know things would turn out like this? She didn't! Deep inside, Quinn knew most of these were excuses. Simon didn't do anything wrong, even though it pained her to admit that.
With a deep sigh and swallowing her pride, Quinn sheepishly glanced back up at him. "I know what I did was dumb and unforgivable, so what can I do to make it up to you? Name it and I'll do it."
❝All of his care in a bottle. Where could it have gone far off in the distance away from whatever? Simon clenches his fist. He was a fool to do such thing. To trust a girl who was almost his everything. Damn moron. This was one of the reasons why women are always the ones to be ditched first. It's the scars that was left resided in his heart.
If she felt guilty, good for her. He felt anger. Pulsing, coursing through his veins. Fools as they all are. Simon at least knew how to take care of himself. Just...why did she have to leave? He felt alone. No one was there for him when he needed comfort.
"Important or not, come on," he says with a smile. "You owe me. And that's a date, four dates to be fact." Was he angry? No, not at all. The male was infuriated with the girl. Her fault that... "Wait, what do you mean you had to cut ties? Are you bullshitting me again?" he furrows his brows. He couldn't understand.
He shook his head. "No, never mind. Don't answer that at all." Ines pulls on his pants a bit. Simon turns his attention to her and pat her head. "Right, we should catch up though....it's been a very long while since we've talked to one another."
[attr="class","quinnscroll"] It took Quinn a moment to take in what Simon had said. She zoned out for a moment and shook her head to get back into reality. A date?! With Simon?! Her jaw opened slightly but she quickly bit her lip. No, she couldn't say no. A promise was a promise, and Quinn wasn't going to back out of another one. It was just a couple of dates anyway... just to catch up and things like that. Then after those four she was good. "Alright, you've got a deal. Four dates and that's it." Quinn said, a sheepish smile appearing on her face.
"Wait, what do you mean you had to cut ties? Are you bullshitting me again?"
The smile quickly faded and Quinn's brain scrambled to make up an excuse. Oh shit she slipped. If the topic of Aqua came up she was sure Simon would go and explode into a rant. It wasn't like she supported their cause really, they were just the first ones to approach and offer her a job. With a decent amount of money and hospital bill coverage. And it wasn't like her brothers were making that much money with what they were doing, so she had to do something!
Simon dismissed that part though and turned to her, patting her head and suggesting they catch up. The panic was passing and Quinn took a breath. She stuck her tongue out at him as he patted her head and took a few steps down the path. Crisis averted for now, she'd have to be careful in the future not to mention Aqua or anything like that. "Yeah, we should. But can we catch up in the next town? I kind of want a drink and some food after walking on this route for so long." Quinn said, turning back to face him. Goober scuttled his way across the path, stopping by Quinn's feet and jumping up and down excitedly at the mention of food. Maybe things were starting to look up now.
