It was Sylvester's first venture since recently being appointed an official pokemon trainer. He had finally received a pokedex and a random pokemon from Professor Birch, a greatly respected man and pokemon researcher of the Hoenn region. If it weren't for him, Sylvester would have nowhere to start from in his present journey. He was already twenty years old. For most trainers, he started relatively late.
Yet, with his pokeballs tucked within his grey trench coat, Sylvester sought to draw the attention of nearby pokemon by leaving his one available combatant inside—as to appear vulnerable. Wild pokemon were not always very sociable irregardless, he felt this tactic would perhaps provoke some of the more confident pokemon to approach him.
Sylvester stood tall over the grass as he trudged through Route 101, leaving his home and old life behind. He was just itching for the opportunity to prove himself, eyes scanning the broad view before him as an exceptionally thick patch of vegetation blocked his path forward...
..and there was something else obstructing his path- something more than just a flimsy clump of grass. Something that considered itself to be strong and powerful, something that was unshakable in its resolve. To be come the best. Like a race horse with the helmet on, this Ponyta could not see anything other than forward. And right now Sylvester was in front of him, and the pokemon continued to claw at the ground, dirt rising into the air as the signal for battle.

Woah, a Ponyta? Sylvester surely was not expecting a pokemon like this one. He flashed his pokedex with his off-hand to get an analysis, retrieved from his coat just the same as his right hand pulled out and released the contents of his pokeball. The Eevee known as Marley did not take long to realize there was to be a battle. "Marley, use Tail Whip!" As the dust was kicked up, the first move on Sylvester's part had been made.
Knowing that the pokemon was already provoked, he did not relent with his battle commands. "One more time!" While it would not outright damage the pokemon, Sylvester was preparing for a strategic battle. Ponyta was larger than Eevee, and it would take more than brawn to overcome such opposition. All Sylvester could hope for was that he did not get Marley severely hurt during this battle.
Anticipation - Lv.05 - Healthy Eevee used Tail Whip! Eevee used Tail Whip!
Even the single minded horse had to admit to the cuteness of the tail whipping, and the action forced the ponyta to let down its guard a bit: the kicks at the ground becoming less instinct and more deliberate; slower. But then he remembered his goal, and both his back legs kicked out in frustration. He charged, head aimed right at the eevee- the fire on its tail a steaming red full of fury and fire.

"Marley, dodge and use tail whip one more time!" Sylvester watched as those cute little legs scurried across the forest floor, managing to escape the first attack and wagging it's tail away at the Ponyta as if to mock it's poor attempt. However, it did not relent in it's pursuit, making it's way towards Marley once again with great haste.
"Tackle back, Marley!" After enough of being on the offensive, Sylvester decided it was time to take the battle to the Ponyta. He hoped the effects of tail whip would have a considerable effect, as comparing the two of them by mere size suggested the Ponyta was at an advantage. All he hoped for was that it had more brawn than brain.
Anticipation - Lv.05 - Healthy - Slightly Hurt Eevee dodged! Eevee used Tail Whip! Eevee used Tackle!
At the end of his second tackle which seemed to leave the Eevee hurt, the opponent gave him yet another tail wag, and which his charging stopped for an instant. Within those fleeting seconds another tackle found its way onto the battle, this one launched by the eevee. It hit at a crucial moment, and the ponyta was hit an could feel the air rapidly escaping his lungs. But he would not give up! Charge, to victory!.

Thanks to his tactics, the sole hit made so far on the Ponyta seemed to make it's mark. Although, with another unrelenting charge on the way the trainer and his pokemon would have to act fast. "Marley, dodge the tackle!" Another swift movement of it's feet, and Marley moved aside as the Ponyta raced by.
"Now tackle back, twice!" With a nod, Marley sprung into action and lept towards the Ponyta. Doing his best to land them in rapid succession, his pokemon let out it's battle cry. Though it was meant to instill fear, all that could be heard was an oddly cute "Eeveeee!" Hoping that the Ponyta was beginning to grow weak, Sylvester felt his hand itching to reach and grab for one of his pokeballs. Yet, Sylvester resisted this impulse until he knew for certain that the fight had been won.
Anticipation - Lv.05 - Slightly Hurt Eevee dodged! Eevee used Tackle! Eevee used Tackle!
Or nopt. The ponyta was tackled to the ground, life slowly escape from his lungs. He'd be okay, but his only hope was being picked up by the human. Could he reach victory with him? He wasn't sure, but he hoped so.

"Finally!" Sylvester was overflowing with relief, rushing to his Eevee and scooping it up into his arms. "Good job, Marley!" Giving his pokemon a gentle squeeze, it nuzzled him in the face before they both went over to the pokemon—it looked to be suffering. "Sorry buddy...I'll take care of you, though." Reaching in for a spare pokeball, Sylvester made his first successful capture...but it wasn't enough.
Allowing his Marley to go back to walking on it's own two feet, Sylvester began to stroll along once again, this time his pokemon out and about. Would another pokemon come out to play? Only time would tell...
OOC: Just one more, please and thank you. Maybe a fighting/flying/ghost type this time?
Shroomish had been sleepy rather peacefully, underneath the fallen leaves it oh so loved the shade of. Technically it wasn't fall and there were no fallen leaves, and it had been a troublesome thing shaking the three and forcing leaves down, but she had done it! And she was sleeping. Key word being was. The human literally stepped right on her, without noticing the leaves on the floor. She let out a yelp and a bunch of powders escaped her body, reacting instinctively to being touched
ponyta was captured! shroomish was resting! shroomish is stepped on! effect spore is in effect!

As they walked along, Sylvester couldn't help but notice a yelp from below him—what appeared to be a grass type pokemon now releasing spores that flew up at him. He staggered back, still able to speak, but noticing his body beginning to stiffen from whatever it is the pokemon ejected from it's body. "Damn it!" Reaching into his inner coat pocket, Sylvester lobbed a readied pokeball towards the pokemon on the ground. I hope this works...
His body began to simply neglect to respond to the actions Sylvester was trying to make. It was difficult to deal with, his mind racing, his body doing the exact opposite as the trainer stood completely still in an awkward position. Sylvester could hear Marley becoming frantic, as they witnessed Sylvester being stunned by the spores. "Syl, Syl!" His eyes and lips were the only thing that could respond, looking down towards his pokemon whilst he spoke. "I'm fine Marley...I think. Use tail whip twice if they escape the pokeball." With a puzzled look, the Sylveon paused for a moment, then looking towards the pokeball fighting to retain the capture.
Anticipation - Lv.05 - Slightly Hurt Eevee waits to attack!
Everything happened all at once. A cloud of yellow flew from the Shroomish's pores the second the shroomish yelped, and then there was a horrid barking noise that, if she had been groggy previously, now forced her fully awake. The trainer seemed unable to move, or at least probably would be, but the male had reacted too fast and now Shroomish was watching in terror as a pokeball flew right at her. She knew she was supposed to be terrified of such objects and tried to run away, but to no avail. She could not resist further as the pokeball now became her new world- at least she'd have plenty of time to sleep.

"Thank goodness." The pokeball flashed a few times, but ultimately nothing horrid came of it, and the pokemon inside had decided to submit. Not only that, but the effects of his paralysis seemed to be wearing off, his upper body still a bit rigid, but his feet and legs gradually responding to the commands given from his brain. "Well, I think now that we've caught two pokemon it's about time we call it a day. Right, Marley?"
Giving a sharp nod, his pokemon let out a sharp "Eevee!", letting Sylvester know that he agreed. Marley even went as far as to begin nudging Sylvester's pant leg, bringing a smile to his face before he picked Marley up once his body was free of the stunning spores. "I know, buddy, I was scared too. I'll just have to be more careful next time." Making his way back to Littleroot, Sylvester wondered about the two pokemon he had caught today. How helpful would they be, and what did they evolve into? Taking out his pokedex, he began to flip through the database of information, hoping it would solve this inquiry.
