Darius was walking around Littleroot Town completely bored out of his mind. He had received a Pokémon and PokéDex, but never took either of them out yet. He didn't know what he got, what it looked like, or how well it preformed in battle.
"Probably should figure out how fucking strong this gal is." He muttered under his breath and looked around for someone to battle. "No one's fucking here, it's like a god damn ghost town."
He continued walking around here and there, inside and outside of buildings and houses which for some reason the residents didn't mind at all. "What a strange town? Don't they realize I could be some kind of criminal or thief." He muttered as he turned a sharp corner. "Fucking Idi-"
Suddenly he bumped into something, well not something, but someone. Darius had completely knocked the guy he bumped into on his ass with the easiest shoulder shove. "Watch where you're fucking going man."
WORDS: 160 TAGS:Sylvester Blackburne NOTES My battle posts are usually small and my starting ones sorry.
The audacity of some people these days was appalling. From around the corner came a young man, colliding with another individual—an elderly citizen who was simply trying to mind his own business on the way to his destination. Another simple-minded brute, eh?
From his seated position at a bench just around the corner's bend, Sylvester took a stand as the senior citizen appeared befuddled, unable to attempt finding any reason for what had transpired. "Finding fault in a genuine accident between two parties? Now that is stupidity at it's best." Sylvester spared a smirk towards the individual, hands slipping into the contents of his grey coat.
"I take it you must have been looking then?" Some people were helpless. At least Sylvester was there, before the man could be harassed further. Instead he picked up his things and made good on the distraction. Two young men with clashing egos never ended well—for either of the parties.

Darius didn't realize he had bumped into an elderly man, but when he did he still could not care less. He only repeated himself a bit louder and harsher this time. "Watch where you're fucking going old man." Darius wasn't in the mood for this crap, in fact he just wanted to get the hell out of this town, but he couldn't find the exit and he sure as hell wasn't going to ask for anyones god damn help.
"Finding fault in a genuine accident between two parties? Now that is stupidity at it's best." A voice spoke out to Darius. Darius simply turned to the man walking up to him and rolled his eyes. "Please don't play hero, heroes don't get shit for doing good. You're wasting your time." He replied to Sylvester.
"I take it you must have been looking then?" Sylvester asked him, but Darius didn't answer instead he turned to the elderly man on the ground. "Get up, and get out of my sight." He commanded harshly, then turned back to Sylvester. "The fuck do you want? I'm not in the god damn mood for a lecture."
"Perhaps not a lecture—but I do believe you need a lesson." This guy's attitude spoke volumes of hatred and violence. He was the exact kind of trash that Sylvester aspired to cleanse from the world. His left hand brought out his pokeball, glaring as he issued his challenge.
"Do you train pokemon? Perhaps we should have a match." One could tell by the way Sylvester looked at the stranger that he wished there was more he could exact upon this man as punishment. His arrogant disposition would be his own downfall, whether or not it was by Sylvester's hand. The most he could do now was hope to win.

"Perhaps not a lecture—but I do believe you need a lesson." Was Sylvester reply, another one that made Darius roll his eyes. "God damn goody two shoe. I'll show you." He thought to himself simply grunting at what Sylvester said, Darius was getting angrier at this man by the second, then he was at the old man that bumped into him. "What? Who's gonna fuckin' teach me? Don't tell it's gonna be you." He said with a laugh, he wasn't scared one bit of Sylvester.
"Do you train pokemon? Perhaps we should have a match." Sylvester said next and Darius's face grew into a malicious grin. "Hell yeah I do." He quickly replied and reached deep into his maroon peacoat pocket pulling out a shiny red pokéball. "I'm game, let's go punk."
There was no delay in his action nor resolve. Sylvester released the contents of his pokeball, a red beam contacting the ground before the silhouette of his pokemon came into view. Within the next few moments one could see Marley, Sylvester's newly acquired Eevee. His facial expression grew blank, Marley smiling at the stranger momentarily before assuming a distasteful look. "What's your name, friend?" Sylvester inquired for formality's sake.
"I am Sylvester Blackburne." His words were said in a low tone, slipping his pokeball back into the contents of the coat he wore. Taking a deep breath, Sylvester anticipated the battle to come. The only odd end left to manage was wondering how many, and what kind of pokemon this stranger had.

Darius paused for a moment staring at the brown puff ball that just came out of Sylvester's Pokeball. "That's your Pokémon? That ball of fluff?" He commented his malicious grin growing wider, he could help but to let a small twisted snicker. "What a joke. Let me show you a real Pokémon!" He added and lobbed the shiny red Pokéball high into the air, where it would pop open sending out a red laser that would travel directly onto the floor releasing Darius's Pokémon, Gible.
Gible would take a moment and look at her surroundings before letting a small roar. "Giiible!" Darius was delighted, but kept his face looking malicious, if this guy wanted to play hero, he wouldn't mind being the villain. "Holy shit, that's one bad ass Pokémon." He thought to himself and then pointed towards Sylvester's Eevee. "Beat it down! Use Tackle!" He commanded and then looked towards Sylvester who was currently asking him a question and then introducing himself.
"What's your name, friend? I am Sylvester Blackburne."
"I'm Darius, Darius Valentine, the guy who's going to beat you down. Gible Tackle again!"

As soon as his pokemon came out and Darius made a command, Sylvester did the same. "Marley, use Tail Whip!" The Eevee immediately heeded this advice, circling around so it's tail could wave about. It may have been costly, however, as the Gible soon made contact with Sylvester's pokemon. With a small cry, Eevee tumbled before Sylvester, with no delay getting back up on it's feet—enraged. Yet another tackle was headed their way.
"Marley use tackle!" As the Gible moved in, so too did Sylvester's Eevee. It probably would not end extremely well for him, but both pokemon seemed to be of similar stature. It was a good match, and Sylvester lucky he did not run into an expert trainer.

Darius made a fist with his hand, this was his first battle in this new region and he did not want to lose, especially to some punk goody two shoes hero boy. When the first Tackle landed it was a nice strong hit, but he noticed that Eevee took the hit on purpose to use another move. "Tail Whip. . . that makes Gible feel weaker." He muttered and then looked at the ground below Gible.
Gible was already colliding with Eevee for the second tackle, even with lowered defense Gible was the stronger Pokémon physically evening out the attack collision. "Gible use Sand Attack!" Darius commanded and Gible pushed off away from Eevee, kicked dirt directly into its eyes. "Now again tackle that puff ball!" He barked the second order, his malicious grin from earlier had faded into a simple frown.

"Marley, dodge!" As the sand was flung from the ground, Sylveste'rs Eevee barely managed to escape unscathed. However, the brutish style Darius favored during battle had yet to relent. With another command to attack, Sylvester was inclined to do the same. "Marley, tackle and then follow up with another tail whip!"
So far, Sylvester was fortunate enough that his pokemon Marley had not yet given up. Though they were new friends, it was reassuring that the Eevee was willing to go on. Even after being drawn into it's trainer's battle, Marley held similar resolve to Sylvester. Everything seemed to work itself out, as the two pokemon were set to clash once more. And yet again, it looked very painful for Marley from Sylvester's perspective. Following the second collision, Marley would give another wave of his tail before they resumed their battle once again.

Darius didn't mind the silly Tail Whips, they were just opening for attacks to him. "Go use Tackle again!" He commanded and Gible once again charged directly towards the Eevee exchanging blows again. "This should over and done soon." Darius thought to himself, he didn't get why Sylvester was wasting him time with debuffs, the only thing that mattered currently was raw power, enough to make anyone who steps against him tremble with fear. "Come on Gible hurry and finish the punk off."
Gible nodded with a grin, she went in for another tackle, but faked it out used Sand Attack trying to get some sand directly into Eevee's eyes. "That's my girl." Darius said grinning, he felt as if he had this in the bag currently. "Gible!" His Pokémon roared with glee, she was enjoying the battle.

As the Gible came in for another tackle as Marley showed his back, this prompted Sylvester to speak. "Dodge and use Tail Whip!" Scurrying away and avoiding the attack, the Gible would be temporarily dumbfounded. However, it was not long before another move had been made—Sand Attack, which happened around the same time as Marley turned to flicker about his tail, taunting the opponent once more.
"Marley, use Tackle!" Charging ahead with the sand having not reached his eyes completely, it appeared to be a rather reckless charge. The Eevee had put up a valiant fight, but was not exposed to much battling before. Darius' Gible, on the other hand, seemed to be enjoying the fight. Perhaps Sylvester was going to lose, which displeased him greatly. Yet, at the very same time, he was glad. This was his and Marley's first battle together, and even if they did not win, their willingness to do what seemed right was all he wanted in his pokemon.

The Eevee had dodged the attack making Gible charge directly onto the dirt floor. "God damn it, get up Gible." Darius commanded with a grunt. "Atleast you got it with the Sand Attack, that's all that matters." Darius added, he grinned maliciously and nodded to himself pleasingly. "Let's finish this thing girl!"
Gible nodded with another roar followed by a few stomps. "Giiiible!!!" But that was cut short as Eevee tackled straight into the Land Shark Pokémon soon after. This enraged Gible causing it to use Tackle on its own without Darius's order. "Ooh, you pissed her off nice job." Darius snickered and pointed at the normal type. "End it now! Tackle it straight to hell!" He shouted in addition and his Gible quickly leapt off the ground slamming into the Eevee harshly.
"That should teach your Pokémon to not mess with mine." Darius sneered following up with a menacing snicker afterwards.

Sylvester scolded himself now, watching Marley get pushed around much unlike before. "Marley, use tackle!" He commanded the ball of fur, noticing that his efforts were futile. With one impact followed by another, Sylvester's Eevee was knocked clean off it's feet. Laying on it's side where it could see it's trainer, the saddened expression on his pokemon engulfed his heart with guilt. Before long, Marley closed his eyes and went limp. "Marley..." Sylvester knelt next to his pokemon, scooping them up into his arms and checking for their vitals. He felt ever so fortunate to witness a pulse resonating within.
His fears put to rest, Sylvester stood up, staring at his adversary. It wasn't a glare, but neither was it a look of acknowledgment. He simply stared—expressionless. "Not bad." It would be up to the other trainer to interpret what exactly he was talking about. The battle? His pokemon? Darius' skill as a trainer? Perhaps none of that...
"Let me ask you something. How does it feel for you—to win a fight?" Calm eyes and a relaxed tone suggested he was the least bit worried about the loss. It was his pokemon he worried about most of all, as his reckless sense of conviction got not himself, but Marley hurt.

Darius grinned, and looked at the Eevee laying down on it's side unconscious, victory, sweet sweet victory. His Gible laughed viciously at the fallen Pokémon, stomping and letting out another roar. "Giiiible!!" She started stomping over to the Eevee, she wasn't done, she didn't have her fill of violence, She paused standing tall above the fainted Pokémon. Gible was just about to bite down hard onto Sylvester's Eevee, but in a flash of red the Land Shark Pokémon was quickly returned, encased in the shiny red Pokéball. "Easy girl, we already beat the shit out of it." He muttered and pocketed the Pokéball.
"Not bad." He heard Sylvester compliment, unknown to who it was going to.
"Yeah, your Eevee wasn't that bad, you on the other hand, you need improvement if you ever want to square up against my Gible and I." Darius sneered in response, he hated other people, but he could not hate Pokémon.
"Let me ask you something. How does it feel for you—to win a fight?" Sylvester asked him, looking as calm as ever.
"I don't feel anything special, I have no rush of joy, nothing. I just put a punk who wanted to play hero in his place." He replied quite angrily. "Now get the fuck out of my sight and don't you ever try to teach me a lesson without having the power to back yourself up." He added spitting at Sylvester's feet and then cracked his knuckles.
