"Protect, huh?" Sylvester marveled at the move taking place, as it was both interesting and potentially effective. Yet, for some reason he felt the offer should go dismissed. "Thank you again for your generosity, but I will sadly decline. I want to see all what Marley can learn on his own before I teach him anything." Perhaps it was an ill-advised choice, but like most of them Sylvester would stick by it until no longer necessary.
"You obtained ice beam? Wow...that must be for your Sneasel then, when it hatches?" His mind traced back to the egg Andrea had in her possession. She was apparently extremely lucky, to have both an ice-type pokemon on the way, and the ability to teach it one of the more powerful ice moves those kind of pokemon may learn. "I hope my pokemon are never on the receiving end of something like that." It was a pretty easy concept to gather. A beam that was cold enough to freeze other pokemon, exempt fore those of the fire-type. Currently having none of the sort, it was a pretty intimidating move to consider other trainers having—especially those who wanted to battle.

"my froakie knows it, too. trust me, we've surprised plenty when i used that shit."
andrea chuckled as she remembered the looks of bewilderment that had flitted across so many faces.
"and i got no doubt you'll be on the receivin' end one of these days," she said. "but, by then, i bet you'll be able to take it."
she gestured for her poochyena and pancham to approach her before producing their capsules. they were quickly returned to the red and white containers. the balls were then minimized and placed inside her pack. afterward, she settled her hands upon her hips and smiled at the quiet boy.
"imma get a battle out of ya one day, dude. i'm sure that eevee of yers is gonna end up bein' pret-ty wicked."
the coordinator grinned at him.
"sylvester, right? i like that name. i like ya, actually. you seem like a pretty chill dude. hope we meet again after this."

"When I am ready, I won't hesitate to accept your challenge." Sylvester spoke with a broad smile. "I hope so." There was a lot riding on his sole pokemon as of now. Even his cousin, Alastor, who had been a step behind Sylvester was already in possession of more pokemon than him. It didn't help any to think of it, but Andrea's reassuring attitude seemed to help Sylvester cope with his doubts.
"I'll have to keep in mind all the pokemon you said you have. If I am to stand a chance, I'll need to catch the right ones for when we battle." In his mind, Sylvester revised all the pokemon he had seen and heard about—also assuming that her egg may hatch a sneasel before their next meet. "After all, you do have quite a team. I'll have to do a lot of work between now and then." He spoke more modestly, kicking the dirt with his foot as he turned side-face and looked ahead at the other pokemon in the distance.
"I'll do my best to make sure we can have a battle next time." The same smile grew stronger, as Sylvester envisioned the next time they would meet. A clash of pokemon, and though he felt he may very well lose, their was still a string of hope he grasped on. "I guess it's about time we go our separate ways, then?" If it were so, Sylvester would gather his things, starting by allowing his Eevee back into it's pokeball. By then, it would be a leisurely stride to the nearest area filled with wild pokemon. He intended to get a head-start on his goal, if one could even consider it as such.
andrea allowed him to take his leave with a small wave, her gaze clinging onto the male until he was completely gone. she mulled over his words, and was instantly struck by an odd sensation. it was similar to the one one she got from julius during their initial encounter. it was very likely that she would meet this sylvester character again. the woman wasn't entirely sure how they would progress - after all, they were merely acquaintances. maybe nothing would come from this encounter.
"d'vorah!"
she called upon her winged companion, and the creature appeared several minutes later, resting upon the rough material of her backpack.
"its almost time ta go," she said.
d'vorah's wings twitched.
"let's get some more trainin' in 'fore we head out, alright?"
the bug-type took the skies, and andrea smiled, reaching toward the heavens as they resumed their practice.
