hello calamity! we're nearing the two months mark in a few weeks. how time flies! right now we have two things going on that need your participation. the first is an activity check! it is impotant that you check in so you don't lose your face claim. the second is the otm nomiations! we're doing it a bit different than last time. so please submit your nominations in. a vote thread will be up in the next few days. there will also be a formal event coming very soon, so keep your eye out for that. keep being cool!
we're currently about to host calamity's first contest in slatepor. trainers are flocking to the city to see, the city's been trying to get good pr since the gala, and it seems to be working! they're asking for both coordinators and volunteer judges to sign up.

FRIENDS
zara is more than friendly and easy to approach, so making friends is no trouble at all. keeping them is a bit tougher, since she tends to run away and disappear, off on her next adventure - from the middle of conversation to the middle of the night, you never know when she's going to get bored and take off. she can come off a bit abrasive sometimes, not really one to bother with manners or anything "proper," but she's still well-intentioned and a generally kind person. she respects the blunt truth and communication.
ENEMIES
with such an over-the-top personality, a louder voice than most, and the tendency to vanish, zara will rub a lot of people the wrong way. she flat out does not understand the value of book smarts, and instead relies solely on charisma and street smarts to get her through life. she can definitely come off as naive thanks to her fearlessness. unless someone really wrongs her, she won't consider anyone really an "enemy," and generally if someone tries to pick a fight she'd laugh it off and walk away. that said, anyone team magma is basically an enigma to her - don't count on being friends with her if you're with that group (but I'm open to exceptions/ideas!)
LOVERS
pacifidlog wasn't exactly known for its nightlife, and so zara had little chance to meet new people besides her neighbors. basically, she didn't get into dating until she ran away. before she officially started her pokemon journey, she had a few flings here and there, but nothing serious - a couple prospective lovers that scared her away with a promise of commitment. zara is terrified of being held down and "settling," and even if she did start to fall for someone, she'd probably repress her true feelings and pretend that everything was fine the way it was because she doesn't like it getting serious.
WANTED
tons and tons of friends team magma enemies/frenemies/rivals ex-lovers, new lovers, crushes, etc etc etc. throw 'em at me
▶ Obviously once they know one another are on opposing teams, they'll be natural enemies but neither of them seem to go around and flaunt the fact they're on their respective teams. Jeremy normally always has a helmet on when dealing with Team Magma matters, so she could perhaps put two and two together when he wears the helmet but without it, who knows.
As for your wanted ad, they can be enemies - if they're both naive to the others dealings, they can be on and off lovers since neither of them like long term dealings, or they can be rivals. Let me know!
red, yaaaaaas, I love the idea of them being buds/fwb without realising they're enemies. At the same time, I don't think it would take too long for them to figure it out; Zara isn't particularly secretive about her Team Aqua affiliation, and she'd probably talk about the ocean in her sleep tbh, but?? maybe circumstantially it just doesn't come up for a while, and then later on down the road they find out about each other, and everything blows up, and it's fabulous?
▶ I'm about it. The blow up can be real, but what happens when they both find out will really depend on how much time they spend together before they find out. I do enjoy the idea of them blowing up on one another though, it'll be fun.
Ay! So I'll jump on this right now since Miles and Zara seem pretty similar in their, 'come and go like the wind' personalities. Miles was raised in Rustboro in a less than well off household. To survive, and help his mom out he took on a lot of shady jobs growing up. After she died he kinda just left and went on this journey to find himself. He's made some friends, but currently they're all fighting with each other so he's gone solo for the moment. He's the type of guy to go wherever the wind takes him, he's not super trust worthy in that he may disappear at anytime despite this he's makes himself seem pretty amicable in hopes that he'll one day be who he pretends to be. I feel like Zara could definitely see through and call Miles on his lying tendencies far more than he's comfortable with. I imagine these two might say something that breaches their friendship and one just disappears for awhile until they meet up again and act like everything's cool. It's an unhealthy cycle but makes for an interesting plot imo. thoughts?

Miles Serran definitely sounds like they would get along! Zara's favourite relationships are the ones with minimal commitment. She's also the sort to really call people out on their shit, so it would be funny if she was like "why you keep disappearing" and he was like "why do you keep disappearing?" and yeah. It would be silly. And yeah, tbh an 'unhealthy cycle' sounds exactly like what this sort of friendship would be. I like it a lot!
