Syndra never particularly liked this pokemon. Heliolisk was a normal and electric type so once again typewise, she was at a disadvantage. It was disappointing but it looked like this one was going to be a loss for her. The spheal looked back and gave a small whimper which caused the female trainer to kneel down and comfort the pokemon. "It's okay. This is just a practice match and you need the experience," she said softly. The water-type, though reluctant, nodded its entire body before waddling over onto the field. In turn she recalled her Sandshrew who had since then returned to its standing state once realizing the battle was over. There were still a few tricks that the female could have pulled to attempt to win this but she figured that she wouldn't want to test anything foreign and strain her Spheal. "Powder Snow then rollout!" That itself would be a good test run. The blue pokemon exhaled a light icy blast of snow from his mouth as he rolled forward in it, resembling a snowball as it rolled forward.

As Heliolisk steps forward he gives the pokemon a look, they were to win, but the electric needed to control his power lest he really ends up injuring the spheal severely or worse. With the look from his trainer noticed the electric lizard gives a quick nod stepping up to battle spherical pokemon. The smaller pokemon starts with a powdered snow and a rollout leaving The trainer to counter. "Charge and raise your defense, finish with Parabolic." The lightning lizard gathers electric energy surrounding itself with power raising his special defense all the while. The energy serves as a good buffer against the powder snow only for the speal the blast itself into the lizard directly knocking him back slightly, As he's pushed back the lightning pokemon's frills open preparing to release the energy it gathered an electric blast following quickly after. The electric type still trying to restrain itself from frying the water type pokemon entirely only releases half of its charged energy the blast itself causing a small dust cloud to rise over the battle. The red haired trainer attempts to sift through the dust kicked up in the wake of the blast his eyes forward looking onward waiting to see the outcome of the attack.
She saw it. The moment that she could have used to turn the tide if her Spheal was more synchronized with herself. The moment that charge was used Spheal could have encored and would have left it wide open for attack. But by the time Syndra had opened her mouth to say it, she had noticed something. Pausing she watched the lizard shoot for an electric attack to realize it didn't shoot a full powered attack. Her Spheal was taken aback and shocked of course but that wasn't what concerned her. She knew that was going to happen but what she didn't expect was a half powered attack. She didn't know if she should feel grateful or insulted. While she acknowledged the electric type was stronger than her spheal, going easy on the pokemon hurt Syndra's competitive pride.
The female trainer bit her tongue, wondering what to do now. She expression hadn't changed so she hid her thoughts well behind her steeled battling look, looking over the field. The water type hadn't fainted but it took enough injuries to call off the fight. Deciding it was better to end it rather than allow Spheal to distrust her by allowing him to take more hits than necessary, she rose her arms up to make an X with them in front of her to signal that she was stopping the battle and bowing out. Without waiting for a response she recalled her Spheal in its own pokeball, then smiled as if nothing happened. "We could have kept going but I think that was enough," she finally said in her same upbeat tone. "No wonder you got your first badge easily."

The dust settles and both pokemon end up in decent condition. He's thankful Heliolisk didn't fry the Spheal entirely memories of his expedition still haunting him. Syndra forms an 'X' with her arms the signal for a forfeit leaving him the victor. This making their streak 1-1 now. With the battle over he makes his way to the electric pokemon patting it's head casually before returning the large lizard to his pokeball. "Good Job." are the last words the pokemon hears before he's enveloped by the red light disheartened by the lack of battling it was able to do. The trainer then makes his way across the makeshift field now closing the gap. "Nah you're more than strong enough to fight the gym leader as is." He shrugs casually continuing on. "When I fought him it was a three on three match, but I only used two pokemon. With a team of three you'll win no problem.
"Anyways what's your plan now, if you're gonna go fight the gym leader I wouldn't mind watching Braev and I make amazing cheerleaders if you keep a pair of spare pompoms on you." he rolls his eyes all the while. As the joke finishes something unexpected happens the rattling in his bag begins to increase. It only take a moment for the trainer to realize what exactly is happening as he reaches for the incubator pulling the now glowing egg from the device holding it in his arms now.
The flash grows so bright he has to close his eyes. Before his irises can refocus on what now shuffled itself in his arms he hears a strange sound twice over 'Bulba'. In his arms now is a baby bulbasaur staring directly at Syndra before looking back at its own trainer. The baby pokemon wastes no time pushing itself out his trainers arms and into Syndra's leaving the red haired man more than slightly confused. "Well we know who he likes more." He can't help but laugh as the grass pokemon nuzzles up to the woman. "I'm no breeder, but I'm 80% sure he thinks your his mother." his chuckle grows slightly watching the scene continue.
Rather than feeling pleased with herself for the assurance that she would beat the gym with her team of three, she felt more disappointed than anything, but showed the same friendly smile on her face. She never did like losing so she took the loss harder than most would. Miles didn't waste time on asking when she intended to face the gym leader however, seeming to have more confidence in fighting the leader than she herself did. "Ah- I probably wouldn't challenge the gym leader until tomorrow at the latest. After our battle I think my team deserves a break for the rest of the day," she said honestly. In fact she didn't have much intention of challenging this gym leader until running into Miles in the first place. That said, it was a good measure to show where she was and that she had to focus on training more. "Besides didn't you said you were on your way out of the city to get to Rustboro? I wouldn't want to hold you up on my account. I'm sure we'll meet up in Rustboro once I catch up and get my own badge."
While she ignored the whole cheerleader pompom reference, the sound of rustling of cloth caught her attention. As the female trainer looks over to the male, she watched him pull out his own pokemon egg from his bag. In a bright flash of light that could only be the egg hatching shown to which Syndra had to shield her eyes momentarily. Once it subsided she looked to where the egg had been previously to see the baby bulbasaur sitting there. Syndra blinked as she looked to the small green creature and was rather surprised when it came scurrying into her arms. "Oh!" she would say in surprise as she moved to hold her own egg in her left arm as the Bulbasaur cutely nuzzled into her right. Those grass types seemed to really like her and the girl laughed off his comment. "Well that seems like a problem for you isn't it?" she said as she pet the top of the Bulbasaur's head. "Still a bulbasaur is a good pokemon to get out of your exploration. Makes me wonder when mine will hatch."

"I understand that, I think I'm actually gonna stop at Dewford first honestly, It'll make for a good break give myself a day to recuperate, and word is Briney's taking his ship out today. I think i'll be able to catch a ride with him. He thinks on Dewford a bit more deeply looking at the man's sea cottage not too far from here. "I'll probably make it too Rustboro later this evening or tomorrow morning if I can get a ride back to the main land at a decent hour." He needs a break that much is certain and Dewford sounded like a good place to really calm himself, before going back home, or perhaps he was still just stalling avoiding his hometown by any means necessary. Regardless he'd take it one day at a time, today's journey leading him to Dewford after he decides to part with Syndra. "You're egg will hatch soon I'm sure. Be sure to tell me what pokemon it is when it does hatch though I'm curious."
While the two talk Bulbasaur continues to Nuzzle up to the female trainer giving Miles himself a strange looks every so often. He figures now's as good as a time as any to introduce the baby pokemon to the rest of its team, or family even. He drops four other pokeballs calling out his entire team from Braev to even Larvesta all vaguely curious as to the new pokemon. It's shy at first, but it doesn't take long for Larvesta to open up the grass pokemon seeming to mentor it. Noctowl however seems a bit more far off for some reason. "I'm gonna let my pokemon get acquainted and then head out care to hang out with us a little while longer?"
"I have a few guesses as to what my egg will hatch into but I'll leave you in suspense. You'll figure out the next time we see each other," Syndra stated with her trademark smile as she brushed her fingers against the baby Bulbasaur's head. The fact that it kept nuzzling into her arm kind of made her feel better after the battle. When Miles introduced the rest of his team, the girl looked over the group. He had about as many pokemon as she herself had which helped but they each looked powerful in their own right. Maybe that was due to most of them being evolved pokemon. "Go on. Talk to your new friends," Syndra would urge on with a slight nudge to indicate the grass type to interact with the rest of his new team. On doing so, her eyes would fall upon the owl like pokemon who didn't appear too interested in what was happening in front of it. The pokemon wasn't used in battle against her and likely for good reason. Both Spheal and Sandshrew had a good coverage against it.
She observed the bird for a bit then whistled to get the Noctowl's attention to see if it would respond. Holding out her forearm just in case the flying type got the message and landed on her, she placed the egg in her arms back into the incubator in her bag. "I'll stick around for awhile longer." As she said this the girl kept rummaging in her bag for something. It was like she was looking for something in there while being careful not to move the egg around too much. "I got something else from the exploration and it might be something your Noctowl would appreciate."

The Noctowl hears the whistle and deeming the green haired trainer safe before perching itself on her arm wondering what exactly she wanted from him. The pokemon tilts it's head at the woman signaling his confusion as the male trainer speaks up interested in what Syndra has to say. "You have my attention, Noctowl seems to like you anyways and I trust you so do whatever you'd like." He smiles at the girl before turning his attention to the rest of his team Braev having place the Bulbasaur directly on its back making sure the grass type couldn't move. Only for Larvesta to scold the much larger indignant bug type. Miles gives a sigh turning his attention back to his rowdy team. "Yeah I gotta go handle this, you have my permission!" He calls before breaking up his pokemon picking Bulbasaur up and holding him personally now. He isn't Syndra, but the grass type is comfortable enough. He then begins to scold the two pokemon Trubbish and Heliolisk laughing on the side all the while. If Syndra was to do something now would be the time.
The Noctowl had obeyed for the most part which was a good thing. What she was doing wasn't for her own benefit after all. Miles was in a hurry to tame his own pokemon, Syndra watching the scene as she shook her head. Teasing a newly hatched pokemon was not nice and at the least she trusted her own pokemon not to do the same when her egg hatched. That didn't matter much at the moment now. Miles had given his permission and the bird seemed curious as to what she was planning. The girl pulled out the Technical Machine she had gotten from the exploration right after Miles was too busy to notice, not actually having lost it in her bag at all. At least that's what Syndra would have said if anyone asked her.
Since Technical Machines were multiuse, she didn't see the problem with using it as a test run. Taking the small square like device and lightly tapping the thing on the Noctowl's head, a small whirring sound occurred. She placed the TM back into her bag quickly afterwards before anyone could notice then pet the owl as if nothing happened. "Alright, see if you can do it. Use shadow ball for me?" Again this was a test run so she wanted to see how well this worked out. Her own pokemon didn't have much use for the move shadow ball except one so it was a good test for down the road.

The Machine was warm, and not exactly comfortable, but seeing as his trainer trusted the girl the noctowl didn't flutter around too much as the woman did whatever she was doing. In moments a strange whirring sound would play information embedding itself in the pokemon's head about a move it wouldn't normally know In seconds it was over and this ghost type move had been learned. Proud of itself the flying pokemon flapped it wings once showing off a bit, before the woman asked him to show off the move. The owl pokemon gives a coo more than willing to show off it's new attack taking off in the sky before firing a powerful orb of ghastly energy at the sand causing dust to arise alerting Miles and his entire team. Noctowl couldn't yet control the attack as well as he'd like, but it was definitely powerful that much was absolutely certain.
As the dust settles the red headed trainer turns to the female an eyebrow raised. "I suppose I shouldn't ask any questions... But seeing as My Noctowl seems to have learned a new trick or two I definitely owe you one." His eyebrow is raised, but he's definitely not displeased by the event. All of his pokemon watching Noctowl now even Braev vaguely curious of what's taken place while he was distracted.
"Yeah that'll do," the girl murmured as she clapped in congratulations to the bird's success using the new move. It was flashy but powerful that much was certain. It was enough to draw the attention of the other trainer to them. If the rest of Miles' team was jealous then that made this all that much better. As Miles spoke she smiled and held up her index finger, "Just one." Her tone was innocent enough saying that. While he didn't ask about what happened, he did mention owing her again. Supposedly the second time Syndra has helped the other trainer. She shook her head slightly in response to indicate he didn't owe her. "What can I say? I'm just a good teacher," she said with a shrug. Glancing to the sky and noting what time it was based on the sun's position, she turned back to the redhead. "But it's getting late. Shouldn't you be going and trying to catch the boat to Dewford?"

He looks at the time the woman having made a good point. "You're right." He calls back the rest of his team Bulbasaur as well lest it make a ruckus while leaving Syndra. The man all in all is still a bit more distant than usual throughout their interactions, but he is a little more cheerful now, that much is certain as he begins to make his leave. "So I'll catch you in Rustboro then." The city still a less than ideal place in his eyes, but better seeing the green haired woman their than not being able to see her at all. "Next time for a second date if you're interested. I'll even have a cheesy pickup line waiting for you." He gives a light laugh his eyes meeting her's a final time before turning away to continue his journey. He gives a wave of his hand as he heads to the sea cottage not too far away. " Oh and you'll be fine in the gym, but you don't need me to tell you that." And with those words he's disappears further down the path, hoping to get a little bit of rest in Dewford before continuing his journey. Hopefully the small island nation is as beautiful as they say.
Syndra gave a friendly wave goodbye as the redhead walked into the distance towards the route. The second date thing made her chuckle to herself as it seemed that again the male was getting ahead of himself assuming she'd show up. But that was simply a reoccurring theme for him. With Miles gone she took her pokemon egg out of the incubator and held it again as she turned heel to walk back to the pokemon center. Her team still wasn't up to par as she expected them to be and she was determined to fix that before challenging the gym. She did say she'd fight the gym tomorrow and Miles seemed to have confidence so she resolved to heal up her pokemon and train them overnight in preparation. After all, there was no reason not to right?
