BIOGRAPHY - hails from a relatively wealthy family in mossdeep city and as a child had peculiar interests in picking locks and stealing goods (mostly at school)
- has a strained relationship with his science-minded, workaholic father who's employed at the space center, and his mother spoiled him to offset his father's absence
- coasted through school by cheating and schmoozing, and he was always aware of team aqua's influence because of the headquarters' proximity to mossdeep
- recently joined up because he wanted to be a part of something bigger than himself that catered to his unlawful interests, so he doesn't care too much for the team's broad ideal of sea expansion (even though he feigns full support)
- has headed to littleroot to pick up a free pokémon and begin his journey through hoenn in order to spread team aqua's influence like a good, dedicated grunt
