Julius hated how stubborn Nat was, and even more the fact that she probably was right. He didn't know much about first aid, and he doubted Nat did either, but she probably knew more than he did. He would have just ignored it or walked into a pokecenter- Nat's kindness pissed him off. Although her blushing was definitely cute.
She seemed to forget how close they were, and they were both suddenly staring at his wound, the bright red not making either of them flinch. "Who's fault is that, I wonder?" he said snarkily, not even hiding his bitter hate for being the one sitting down while Nat was bandaging him up.
His fist clenched when she patted them, and he seethed i pain but refused to grunt- although it was obvious it hurt like a bitch. Suitably irritated, Julius found himself stand up on his own accord, limping as he attempted to walk away- too bad. They were at a window seat, and right now Nat was the one standing closer to the aisle. And he was in no position to be jumping the table.
Zero, sensing that his own was in a better state and perhaps did not need 24 hour protection from a Tyrunt, hovered higher and took his place beside Julius.
"See you later," he said to Nat, giving her a less than friendly wave as he attempted to walk by her.

"yours'," she replied without hesitating, as though the answer to that was obvious. honestly, if he hadn't come in, maybe mike wouldn't have taken to his ankle like it was a plaything. the tyrunt was silent but unapologetic, as though the sort of thing was normal for him. she shot him a disgruntled glance, absolutely not thrilled by the fact that she was having to do this for him. at least that was as far as it went when it came to owing him anything.
all bandaged up, julius started trying to hobble away. nat wasn't going to just let him slip by that easily. "hey!" she called, purposely placing herself such that he couldn't cross over or try and make it past her. "where do you think you're going?" she had her arms crossed, standing on her own two feet. mike shuffled close to her leg, still critically eyeing julius and maybe his other ankle. if nat didn't want the other human going anywhere, he could make that a reality.

Julius was so sick of her- seriously. He felt like taking back all the petty little flirting he had tried before, right now, Nat was being a pain in the ass. Or the ankle, whatever. He glared at her just as fiercely as she glared at him. He'd been through too much and too many to feel afraid of a Tyrunt, and Zero being at his side almost gave him the illusion of invincibility, despite that being proved useless by the throbbing pain on his foot.
"Anywhere you're not. Look, you've had your fun and let your dog bite me," he paused, realizing a bit why he disliked Nat. It was that little frustrating knot that tied itself around him every time he couldn't outright get back at the person who'd hurt him. Keeping Zwei from hitting the tyrunt outright was simply caused to due to people around. Little things, petty things, whatever it was, Julius couldn't help but feel anxious without his daily dose of being a jackass.
"What are you keeping me here for, a kiss?" He tried his best to glare at her- undoubtedly he wasn't that good at it with women. With Andrea it was different- she was as masculine as men could be, and she felt like a little brother. Nat was harder to intimidate, Julius couldn't put his finger on why. It was something to do with how she acted, how she was stubborn and yet wasn't in any angle evil.
It nagged at him, far too much for his taste.
The rotom picked up on the intensity, of what it was not sure, and began surging a little buzz of electricity, coming to life while glaring at the Tyrunt. The tyrunt suddenly was eyeing Julius's other ankle, and the male's lips twitched in irritation.
"Zero, put him down," he mumbled. Maybe that would satisfy the need for some payback, for now.
The rotom agreed happily, and let loose a series of sparks aimed for the Tyrunt, no hesitation what so ever.

everytime she gave julius some sort of chance to redeem himself, he came back to shut her down and prove her wrong. she was so damn sick of his attitude - this idea that he was entitled to anything, or that he could get away with a few sweet words. she wanted to think that some part of him was nice, really, but he seemed to prove her wrong every time he opened his mouth and let words tumble out. a scowl was growing on her face as she looked at him, snatching her tumbler off the table.
"you're not going anywhere i'm not. i'm taking you to the hospital to get it checked. mike's a few hundred million years old. he's not exactly gotten his shots," she spoke curtly. mother hen instincts were tingling. she felt responsible for mike's brashness, and as much as she didn't like to think that she owed julius anything, she had to at least make sure she hadn't cursed him to death because of an infection from mike's bite wound.
she rolled her eyes at his joke - or at least, his attempt at a pretty sick one - and placed a hand on her hip. "if i wanted to keep you here, i'd have my beldum sit on you. once i make sure that wound's not going to get infected, you can be on your merry way. if you think you're getting a kiss out of me, you're sorely mistaken." maybe she should have just done that from the beginning. the two hundred pound beldum could certainly do a number on julius. her beldum wasn't exactly the most affectionate, but it could get the job done.
as electricity sparked from the rotom, the tyrunt reacted negatively. electricity wasn't something he was familiar with and something he definitely didn't know how to appreciate. he bared rows of teeth at the rotom angrily as electricity sparked loose. "hey!" nat cried out, trying to grab hold of the tyrunt before he could run loose, but the provoked creature had a mind of his own. electricity wasn't effective on the dragon-type, but it made his bones ache. the pain was enough of a trigger. he let loose another intimidating roar, diving straight for julius' legs again.

He chuckled mirthlessly at her blunt, dry responses which were more annoying than anything else about her. She felt like a stoic, unmovable figure of logic and reason, that resembled his own cool head in too many situations. But right now wasn't his time to be keeping cool. Right now, he was pissed off.
"Alright, Nat, you've had your dog bite me, and you actually have the audacity to want to get me checked up for yourself? Like hell. I've spend enough time around you, and if you want to bring up pokemon, then be my guest."
He was more than happy to entertain the uptight blonde with a fight of pokemon, and the fact that she was a woman and he wasn't technically supposed to mess with her had worn off the instant she started talking like his mother. The rotom froze up at the roar and disappeared around the same time as the Tyrunt made his leap, but it was too much of an obvious movement. It might have been extraordinarily strong, but it had been eyeing his ankles like bones the second it laid eyes on them. Julius grabbed a chair and rammed it in the general direction of the Tryunt. It would, obviously, do nothing, but it would prevent the pokemon from getting at his good foot for long enough...
Cinque appeared from his pokeball, the Clauncher instantly identifying the problem and diving to fix it. It attempted to use its claw latch on to the Tyrunt and then used water gun to push it as far away from Julius as was possible.
Julius watched, mildly amused, as the stronger Clauncher fought against the Tyrunt. Perhaps knocking the affectionately named Mike out would make him less irritable, but he doubted it.

shit, this was such a clusterfuck that natalie was getting mad. everything was spiralling out of her control, and unease wormed its way into her heart. getting julius checked up was partly to fulfil her own selfish obligations and sense of responsibility, but on the other hand, it was also for his own damn good. if he collapsed from an infection, that was her fault. she wouldn't allow for it.
"well, maybe if you weren't being such a stick in the mud about it and just got your wound checked, i wouldn't have to be doing any of this." she waved her arms about angrily, insistently pressing on the matter. it was bad enough that he was calling mike a dog, when he was obviously more than that. mike obviously wasn't taking too well to julius' words either. they only seemed to further fuel his biting tendencies. when the rotom disappeared, he lunged and went in for the kill, only to be stopped in his tracks by a chair and a forceful pinch from the clauncher. he yelped and scrabbled furiously at the crustacean, trying to claw it with his tiny arms. "mike!" she called out, fishing out his pokeball and recalling him.
the tyrunt disappeared in a beam of red light. nat huffed and looked absolutely exasperated. "i'm not here for a battle," she scoffed, reaching to grab julius by the wrists like he was a petulant child who was making a fuss. she aimed a kick at his good ankle, hoping that some tough love would get into that numbskull brain of his. "come on now. they're going to kick both of us in a matter of time if you don't cooperate."

Unlike Nat, Julius wasn'tas sensititve to the chaos. Or the stares and the hollers they were getting. In his rage he had forgotten a little bit about the surroundings, the only things he was seeing being Nat, the Tyrunt, and a few feet in their surrounding area. "What makes you think I won't get it checked up?! Do you think I'm trying to die?" He was almost screaming out in frustration now, not understanding how to make her get it. "I don't need to be waddled around like a child, alright?" This was spoken with a little more clam, as if he realized now that there were a bunch of eyes on him. He could practically hear the snickering of the crowd, something along the lines of 'a couple-fight gone wrong-'
His jaws were locked together, teeth grinding against each other. The tyrunt disappeared, and so did most of Julius's rage. When it was back into its pokeball, Julius gestured with both hands outstretched. "Congrats! You finally figured out where to keep pokemon you can't handle." His words were nothing short of sharp, but thanks to the fact that they were so sharp, Julius could feel the annoyance slowly fading away. It was something of an outlet.
But then Nat came a little too close, and even though he tried to edge away, she grabbed his wrists, and he looked up at her with a slightly baffled expression for a few moments before pulling his hand away roughly. When she kicked his good leg, he immediately retaliated, using the his leg to kick at her, gender be damned. The kick was packed with force behind it- he was practically going full force. But every action has an equal and opposite reaction, and Julius only realized he had used his bad leg when it was too late.
He grabbed his leg and found himself falling to the chair, the makeshift bandages already tearing through with new blood.
Maybe he should just listen to her, for once...his eyes closed, and, with more than enough pain in his ankle, he fainted.

with the way julius is running his mouth, nat wouldn't be surprised if he was trying to get himself killed. the man obviously didn't listen to reason, and even with her trying to wrangle him into submission, he just wouldn't listen. she was thoroughly fed up with the guy. "well, apparently. you. do!" she grumbled right back. there was no point trying to teach him a lesson with her pokemon. as julius had displayed, her pokemon were going to useless in a battle against him. she was outmatched in a fight for power.
so she was resorting to this. nat felt little remorse for kicking julius when he was down. in a way, the guy deserved it. she cringed when he managed to hit her own foot, like they were doing some sort of terrible dance, but then everything was backfiring on julius and nat was laughing inwardly when she watched him crash. then she started to panic on his behalf. "shit... look at what you've done," she grumbled, although it appeared that he couldn't hear her. she flicked him on the forehead, seeing that he wasn't going to be putting up a fight now.
"eren," natalie called out, the beldum emerging from its pokeball. "i'm going to need your help. just support his side there, yeah," she instructed, ignoring her flushing cheeks as onlookers watched her try to support julius by the shoulders. her ankle hurt, and couple with her previous fall, she was being forced into a limp, but she couldn't do anything about it now. she gritted her teeth and started towards the center, grabbing her tumbler as she hobbled.
"you're bloody heavy, you know that?" she complained, wondering what the hell she had gotten herself into.

He always liked summer. It meant lots of flowers, and swimming, and listening to his sister sing- she had such a pretty voice. The sun was an easy thing to beat as a kid, with ice cream and ice.
"Sing me another song," he mumbled, finally, after a bunch of thought and consideration. But his sister didn't seem to like the idea, and she was frowning, which made his expression turn hurt. Why wouldn't she sing for him? She was saying something, but Julius didn't get it. His leg hurt, for some reason, but it was duller when she was singing.
He was suddenly hugging her, his nose in her hair. He moves his face around it- it was so comfortable. Like an ebony blanket- familiar and soft.
"Sing for me..." His words were garbled, and it was a wonder he wasn't chocking on hair by now. Carissa started to fade away, the sketchy outlines of her form become less clear and more translucent. "Where are you going?" He mumbled, asking a question that he felt like he should know the answer to.
"Don't go, Cassie. Don't go."
His breathing relaxed, and he faded out again, everything black in his mind once more. Until even the black faded away, replaced with a greyish blue. And he forced that to fade away as well, blinking up at a familiar face. A weak smile came to his lips.
"Hey, Nathan," he whispered, half-forgetting what happened at the coffee shop, and still in a daze.

nat managed to haul him towards the hospital. it took a fair bit of explaining on her part - why he was bleeding from the ankle and why he was unconscious, but they finally wheeled him onto a bed to get it checked. there had been tetanus shots as well, for julius and mike both. nat stayed, feeling obligated and responsible for everything that had happened. she stayed by his bed like a hound dog, watching him stir in his sleep.
"sing?" nat looked at him, slightly perplexed. her singing voice was thin and stringy at best. she could hum, but she only sounded good in her head. nat wanted to laugh. she chuckled, watching julius tossing and turning in his sleep and murmuring for cassie, whoever that was. she didn't even realise he was waking up until he heard her calling her. again, with the nathan. she kind of wished that he'd drop it, but she had also kind of gotten used to it.
"yeah, just me. no cassie here, sorry to say," she commented. eren watched him with its lone eye. "doctor says you'll be able to walk fine. your medicine's on the side." she motioned to the pills stacked up on the side table. natalie had taken it upon herself to pay for him. "that tetanus shot might hurt for a couple of days."

The dose of tetanus had him feeling all funny, and while it definitely wasn't his first time (it had to be around six times or more...), Julius still had the dazed, funny little paitent with not a clue of the world expression on his face. He was half smiling, emerald eyes only half open. He didn't hear clearly what Nat would say, but he did vaguely remember what happened.
"Tetanus? Oh. Yeah. The tyrunt, hmm..." Like and old man he scrambled to his side, hands reaching for the pills put just a little out of reach on the side table. He grabbed it with a grunt, and only then did he realize what exactly Nat had said. Down rolled the container of medicine, hitting the ground with a clank as Julius pressed his eyes closed together, as if he 2was struggling with comprehension, or maybe even in some kind of pain.
"Did you say Cassie?" he asked, in a voice that implied it was most certainly gonna be followed by a 'nah, you didn't, I'm just going loopy, blame the shots,' but that piece of dialogue never came. Instead Julius reached down for the pills, struggling for the pills with a confused look on his face.
Post by NATALIE OSWALD on Jul 18, 2015 13:34:28 GMT
"yeah, cassie." nat watched julius struggling with the bottle until she became overwhelmed with the urge to help him. she snatched the bottle from the ground and opened it for fresh pills, reaching for a glass of water to serve him. "you were calling for her. then again, maybe it was a guy. you know, since i'm nathan and all," she scoffed. she would be pretty amused if julius was actually interested in men.
nat could laugh at how pitiful julius looked about now. she could stick around for as long as she wanted, but she also got bored. she wasn't sure if it was wise for her to stick around for julius to ridicule, and she was starting to think she had outstayed her welcome. the chair groaned as she got up and dusted her jeans, wincing when she brushed over her own wound. "i'm going. get better soon."

He was a lot more awake now, the color returning to his face with stark vibrancy as he looked at her, half astonished and half worried. He had the bottle in his hands, and he was sitting upright, leaning against the wall. His expression lacked its usual smile, and his jaws were a little slack. "How did you..."
"Right, I was, calling for her?" He seemed a little lost- did he really? It felt like a little stab in his heart, and he couldn't even give Nat a laugh at her attempted joke. He just shook his head, in a yeah, sure, whatever kind of way. "Figures," he mumbled, looking at his lap.
When Nat declared she was leaving, he looked up, a lazy and faint smile making him seem a little less wiped, although not by much. He lifted a hand. "See you," he said, not offering thanks or even a little acknowledgement that she had brought him here. Probably because he claimed it to be her fault in the first place.
