The next moves were fast. Too fast for the ghost to handle as he was struck. "Duskull!" the female called out in concern. He tried to shake off the sensation but those were heavy hits. What they wouldn't notice was that the ghost's shadow was stretching across the battlefield. When the Scizor landed he would get hit by the ghostly move before he even knew what hit him. Once Duskull got his bearings together he charged up another shadow ball without waiting for Syndra's instruction.
While that was a good move and all, Syndra was hesitant. At this point she could not stop the ghost but there was likely a better strategy like using Disable to cripple the bug's moves. That said the Duskull didn't have much other than ghost type moves to attack with. Just watching the fight pan out helped the female understand the pokemon's thought patterns and battle stype which would help in the long run. Still she knew that the duskull couldn't take more similar hits. One of those lasts ones must have hit a critical spot on the ghost type or else he wouldn't have looked so bad from two hits.
[attr="class","sv3"] Step into the mind of a young man And if you don't then I don't really give a damn All I wanna do is make you understand But if you don't wanna listen I guess you ain't a part of the plan Sorry if I digress all I ever wanted was to be the best Stayin' up late night no rest Feelin' bulletproof, no vest But I confess my minds a mess living in world of stress I digest But I gotta keep grinding cause everyday success what I'm finding And I don't give a damn if you hate on me Cause when I blow what you gonna say homie?
In the flurry of attacks the Scizor struck form behind by a shadow of sorts slightly angering the bug pokemon, however it looks like the Duskull's taken far more damage than he and so the steel type is more than pleased with the trade. As the ghost type reels back obviously injured it manages to fire another shadow ball The bug type obviously having something the prove makes no attempt to dodge. Even in Miles eyes this one is about over. "Follow up, same moves." The trainer orders and once again the blade pokemon dashes forward steel fists attempting to collide with the ghost pokemon before almost disappearing in an attempt to slice at the ghost type from behind. He wonders how the green haired girl will follow this onslaught.
Like a true dead spirit pokemon, the ghost had no qualms taking the attack. Willingly floating there he made no efforts to dodge. Doing so he realized he had taken way too much damage than he anticipated which was the correct assessment made by Syndra. After the first hit the Duskull found that he could no longer move even if he wanted to dodge the second attack. With the Aerial ace hitting the ghost type found himself loftily floating down to the ground. He wasn't completely fainted but he could see the green haired trainer shake her head to signal that it was over. She had gotten all the information she needed from that battle and was perfectly fine ending this battle. After all it gave her what she needed to train her Duskull properly.
"Duskull return," she called as the line of red light enveloped the ghost pokemon. Just then the female held up one index finger to signal one more, throwing her next pokeball out with her free hand. The last pokemon should have been a familiar one, the round ice type cooing as he was called out. Spheal had been her pokemon that agreed to go to the gala with her but she wouldn't say anything about that for now.

Scizor stands tall overlooking the fainted Duskull now yellow eyes somewhat satisfied with the fight. In truth Braev wants to continue, but the red light comes for the pokemon regardless sending it back in his pokeball for now, after all the Braev as to be his escort this evening, and the taller trainer didn't need the pokemon too injured after all. He looks across the field now the fainted ghost having been called back to its own pokeball. He already knows his final pokemon, and it seems Syndra does as well. The two trainers lob their pokeballs at the same time both landing on the field the final glow releasing on one end a spherical blue pokemon, on the other a wise looking owl pokemon.
It's obvious the girl has the advantage this fight, but Owl nor its trainer seems to worried. "Begin with Shadow Ball and follow up with Uproar." The trainer calls his first attack taking the lead on this one knowing the Noctowl wasn't the most defensive pokemon, and with the type disadvantage the bird pokemon wouldn't last very long.
Thankfully the spheal was a cute and obedient so Syndra didn't have any worries about the small pokemon being like Sandshrew. Still she wanted to finish this battle quickly so Spheal wouldn't get too injured in the battle. The pokemon was still her partner for this evening and winning this meant it would end up being a tie. Meaning that she wouldn't have lost and their records would still be even technically. The opponent was the flying type Noctowl which she remembered having tested teaching Shadow Ball to the first time. Miles did not hesitate to use that against her as the attack was called. Spheal was too carefree to mind and while he winced at the uproar, allowing the shadow ball to hit him, he had been prepared for a counter attack as he had already instinctively used Defense curl.
"Ice Ball!" She called out quickly once the attacks had hit so that Noctowl couldn't block. The ice type had already inhaled a deep breath and exhaled to form a large spherical ice cube in front of him larger than his own body. Shooting it directly at the flying type with the determination to down the pokemon, he took another inhale in preparation for the next barrage of attacks. After using Defense Curl the Ice ball was noticeably larger than normal and the more Spheal used it the more damage it would do.
Spheal, water/ice-type (thick fat) Level 18
Took both shadow ball and Uproar. Uses Defense Curl and Ice ball

Noctowl is proud of his power, perhaps a bit to proud having seen his attacks connect the large bird pokemon was uprepared for a counterattack, or at least one so quickly. And so when the mid sized chunk of ice appeared from the dust the pokemon was knocked out of the sky almost instantly. The pokemon was still moving and active however one of its wings seemed too injured keeping the bird pokemon from flying. Miles watches the impact a small grimace on his face it's clear the iceball was a critical hit. Miles quickly calls out his next command, "Hypnosis into Shadow Ball this time around." The Flying type attempts to focus, but is far too disoriented to launch any kind of hypnosis the beams firing in a random direction. The shadow ball serves better but it's clear the owl pokemon is about done this time around. The read headed trainer can only hope the final shadow ball would be enough to knock spherical ice type out.
Watching the noctowl fall out of the sky was a terrible sight. Syndra's lips parted in shock to see it and her concern was high however as the battle was still ongoing she could not stop to check to see if it was okay. The ice type seemed pleased with himself seeing the flying type get hit and already began forming the nice Ice ball attack. Syndra didn't order the attack yet however as she was more watching the flying type fail to fly back into the air. Based on the impact of the attack and onto the ground the female theorized that the wing was injured. Miles still pushed onwards to have the Noctowl attack but the owl didn't even aim the proper direction to her pokemon. The green haired trainer grimaced but shook her head. "Use Ice ball but avoid hitting the wings." Spheal's ice ball got larger than the first and was shot again. He obeyed the instructions however and avoided aiming for the wings of the bird and only the torso. He got hit with the stray shadow ball if only slightly grazing his side but he wasn't going to have it. He prepared the next ice ball and shot it again almost immediately though again followed the instructions to a T to not further injure the bird.

It's only moments when the second ice move connects Miles refusing to look away as it'd be disrespectful to his pokemon. The battle ends the pokemon unconscious thankfully he doesn't look too badly injured. The bird is too big for him to actually carry and so he reaches over and massages his wing carefully before returning the large owl pokemon to its pokeball his next destination obvious. "Well then it looks like two two, unless you'd like to continue on." He still has two more pokemon with him in case the girl was trying to continue the battle. "You've gotten better though, we both have." The trainer smiling before standing tall now wondering what exactly the girl's plan was here on in.
He looks at the sun seeing as it's fallen a bit more, than figuring it was about two or so, the battling having killed a little under an hour. His smile seems lazy, but not all the way satisfied with the outcome this time around. The man figures they'll settle it one day further along in their journey's but it seemed almost apparent that today wasn't said day.
The female exhaled a breath of relief as her Spheal manages to pull out the last victory making this battle a tie. While Syndra didn't mind continuing the battle the only two pokemon she had left were her Grotle and her younger Abra. Plus if they actually did keep fighting they might have eaten too much time. "We should stop for now. We don't want it to get too late and miss preparations for the Gala," the green haired trainer replied with a smile. She walked over to the pokemon in time to see that major permanent damage was not done to the Noctowl to which she exhaled a sigh of relief. The ice type cooed once again and Syndra took it as a sign to recall the part water pokemon into his pokeball again. Placing the pokeball back onto her belt she looked off into the distance to take note of the current position of the sun in the sky.
"Figures we both got stronger. We both have been working hard," her upbeat tone could be heard in that phrase. She hoped to continue having pokemon battles like this were their pokemon were pushed to the limitations to grow stronger. In a way Miles was like a training partner and a rival every time they encountered each other. Or at least what she thought rivals would be like. "Anyways," she chimed turning back to the redhead. Her whimsical sense was still there as she decided it was time for a subject change. "I'm guessing your all ready for the dance then?"

The girl hadn't gotten to see the newest additions to his team yet, though he figured she would sooner or later, best to keep the final two pokemon a surprise for now. His ace as arrogant as it was hadn't been defeated yet, and leaving their rivalry with a draw would be good for now at least, and so he slides one of the two remaining pokeballs he has with him into his jacket pocket. "No doubt." The gala was his purpose for being here, and it'd behove him not to miss it. Tonight was supposed to be one of those nights that really made his journey what it was needless to say it was exciting.
In truth the man appreciated their battles, even more than his flirting with the girl she'd become more than just a crush or possible love interest she was a competitor in his eyes now, a true rival, after all she was one of the few people he'd run into in his journey that he couldn't crush entirely, even now if he played his cards wrong the girl could overtake him in a match.
"More or less, dancing never really was in my forte. Growing up I spent more time focused on other things, so it'll be nice jumping into this ritzy event. I get to see what all the hype is about you know. And who knows what or who i'll find tonight, can't lie i'm a little excited." He looks onward for a moment his eyes lazily looking toward the coast, "Anyways I'm gonna head out here make sure Noctowl's alright before I get dressed for the gala. I'm sure i'll catch you there." With that the man heads off in the direction of the city giving his traditional wave before disappearing into the Slateport streets, his destination the pokemon center.
The concept of the gala was foreign to Syndra. She always anticipated never attending one due to her social status and lack of money. Even now she was skeptical of even going to such an event with what Miles' words making it sit uneasily with her. But that was what the journey was about. In her mind she had to talk herself into it once more as she listened to the rest of what Miles had to say. As he stated he had to take his Noctowl back to the pokemon center to get checked up on before the dance she nodded. "Sounds good," she replied as she watched him walked off into the distance with a wave.
Now she was alone and standing about looking up into the sky, the sea breeze wafting through her hair and brushing against her skin. "Let's hope that it is just a nice event and not anything dangerous," she whispers into the wind. It was about time for her to head on back as well to begin getting dressed so she slowly trekked back down the slope towards the pokemon center, though taking her time so she wouldn't seem like she was following the male she had parted ways with moments ago.
