It was a pretty decent day to start an adventure. Not too hot, not too cold, also no signs of rain..for the moment at least. Like normally Sophia wore some pretty eye catching clothes, slightly fitting for the day's weather at that.
Currently the green haired girl was wearing a white shirt with black lining, with a smallish black business jacket on top of it, the jacket left unbuttoned of course. Aside from that she also wore a pair of black slacks and black dress shoes, a black Ushanka rested on the top of her head. That was pretty much her outfit for the day, aside from a black purse to match the rest of her outfit.
Before making her way onto the route Sophia would dig around in the purse for her Chikorita's pokeball. Sending the little grass type out as soon as she found it's ball. "Heeey Chick~" Sophia said happily as she bent down a bit, patting the lead of on the top of the grass type's head.
"Cmon, time to go find some more friends. After all we can't win competitions with just the two of us!" She added with a cheerful grin as she began walking down the path of the route. Being extra careful as to not mess up her newish fancy clothes, her Chikorita following right behind her the whole way.
The duo would walk in somewhat silence aside from their feet making noise from their steps as they searched for some wild pokemon on this route. Trying their hardest as to not miss any important pokemon that she could catch.
the sunkern was basking in the sun, not a care in the world. she felt so wonderful, so alive today! how wonderful was the summer sun? the best thing ever, in her opinion!
but then she heard a voice, only a little distant. finding herself curious and optimistic, the sunkern decided to look for the source — only to find a human!
sunkern watched from the safety of a bush, peering as the trainer pulled out a ball and–
a pokemon came out?
how bizarre! the sunkern almost felt intimidated before she heard the friendly and caring infliction of the human towards the pokemon. the two seemed to be getting along well. how rare... maybe she should check it out?
sunkern slowly left the safety of the bush, feeling oddly exposed and... kind of scared? it looked up to the tall, tall trainer, and took a gulp.
"....Sunk?"
a wild sunkern has appeared! the sunkern seems to be interested in sophia!
you've got me on my knees,I'm beggin', darlin' please
Sophia had almost kept on walking, with her head held straight forward she could barely see the tiny Sunkern on the ground. Only managing to stop once the little sunflower seed pokemon said part of it's name.
Almost immediately she'd stop in place and look down at what pokemon it was. Her eyes opening a bit wider as she saw the Sunkern, and crouched right down to get a better view of it. "D'aaw, well hey there little one~"
She said cheerfully, grinning at the Sunkern while her Chikorita pressed up against the side of her leg, staring at the Sunkern as well. Sophia was trying her best to stay calm, she was already a bit excited that she had found a grass type already!
And a cute one at that. She wanted to make sure that she didn't scare the poor thing off, or harm it at that.
With a slight gasp in realization she'd start to fiddle around in her purse for a moment, before pulling out the pokeblock case she left home with. "Here you want one Sunkern? They're gooood." She said as she opened the case up and pulled out two yellow blocks, giving one block to her Chikorita first as a demonstration.
Which the Chikorita scarfed down almost instantly, enjoying the slight sour flavor the yellow ones had. "See Chick likes it, and its the same color as you!" She said happily, slowly moving to hold the other yellow pokeblock out to the Sunkern.
the wild sunkern froze as the trainer approached, tears welling up in her eyes. oh no, this was a mistake! it was a mistake! now she was going to be hurt and trampled and — and —
oh?
what was that? the sunkern sniffed the pokeblock precariously, then watched as the chikorita ate one with great gusto. food? she was being offered food?
timidly, the pokemon nibbled on the pokeblock. then, with a shriek of glee, she tasted the delightful sourness that was questionably processed food!
after gobbling down the pokeblock, the sunkern hopped over to the trainer and rubbed her arm with her body in thanks. looking up to the trainer, she grinned with wide eyes. maybe she would take her along... you know, just for some more treats.
sunkern ate the pokeblock! sunkern wants to go with sophia! capture? more pokemon?
you've got me on my knees,I'm beggin', darlin' please
Sophia almost squealed in happiness as the Sunkern rubbed up against her arm, it looked like the pokemon enjoyed the pokeblock after all!
Without wasting anymore time after that Sophia would reach into her purse for one of her empty pokeballs. Pulling it out and then going to gently tap the Sunkern on the head with it. Capturing the little sunflower seed pokemon that agreed to go with her. "Woo one down huh Chick?"
She said with a slight giggle, reaching over to pat the Chikorita's head once again before standing up. "Hmm...this way.."
Sophia added as she started walking down the route once again, searching for a new pokemon. Chikorita following closely behind her the whole time.
the taillow was highly offended. swooping out from the branch it was perching on, he flew for the green-haired girl and squawked loudly. what do you think you're doing?!?!
after promptly noticing the sunkern was missing and another pokemon was present, the taillow squawked again and divebombed the chikorita, aiming it's sharp beak for it's tiny body.
a wild taillow has appeared! taillow is aggressive! taillow used peck!
you've got me on my knees,I'm beggin', darlin' please
Luckily enough for the grass type pokemon and it's trainer the Taillow made noise before attacking. Which pretty much gave away any element of surprise that it had. "O-oh" Sophia blurted out as the Taillow swooped in, Chikorita managing to jump out of the way of the peck attack.
"Guess it wants to fight ooor something?" Sophia said with a slight tilt of her head, watching the Taillow closely. "I mean it is a flying type so we're kinda at a disadvantage Chick...but you can handle this right?"
She asked curiously, the Chikorita responding with a sharp nod of her head. "Aaalrighty then. We should make sure it doesn't hurt you too much though, use Growl Chick!" She said with a slowish nod of her head, mainly to keep her hat on.
With another nod the Chikorita would begin using her moves, simply growling at the Taillow twice to try to lower it's attacking power.
the taillow cawed loudly as the growls reverberated through the tiny clearing. little did he realize the change in his attack power — he would do barely anything now, but he wouldn't notice.
the taillow dived again, aiming his beak for the chikorita before soaring up again just to repeat. take that, measly human! and your little pokemon, too!
taillow was hit by ground! taillow's attack significantly decreased! taillow used peck x2!
you've got me on my knees,I'm beggin', darlin' please
While the Taillow came in for these attacks Chikorita wouldn't even bother to move. Completely confident in how much the Taillow's attack power had dropped down from her growls.
The first peck attack would make contact with her and cause her to flinch a bit, barely doing as much damage as it normally would of. The second peck being pretty much the same as the first. While on their own they weren't too powerful now the two of them added up a decent bit.
Chikorita being at least slightly injured at this point from the pecks, probably not being able to take on too many more however. With a grin Sophia would look over at her Chikorita, giving it a thumbs up.
"You're doing good Chick don't worry, you should try that new thing I taught you though. You know the one we needed that cool TM thing for?" She said, her grin still plastered on her face as Chikorita nodded at her trainer.
Only to then open up her mouth and form a green ball of energy, firing the Energy Ball attack at the Taillow, following it up with a second energy ball attack. Already a bit proud of her ability to use the move.
what?! why weren't his pecks doing anything?!?! in a frenzy, the taillow aimed two more pecks at the chikorita, but he was getting sloppy. it was likely that one of them missed, but he was too mad to notice.
and then the chikorita unleashed a ball of energy, and then another directly after. the taillow was too upset to flutter out of the way, too dead-set on making the trainer and pokemon get out of his presence. he was hit twice, and immediately began to regret his decision to not use evasive action.
taillow used peck! taillow's attack missed! taillow was hit by energy ball x2!
you've got me on my knees,I'm beggin', darlin' please
Sophia would get ready to cheer as the Taillow's first peck attack missed all on its own, only for the second one to nail Chikorita.
Less reasons to cheer now, on the bright side Taillow was still suffering from the growl attack. Normally that should of been more then enough to finish Chikorita off, made evident by how quick and hard she tumbled over from the hit. Only to barely be able to struggle back up to her feet.
"Hang in there just a bit more Chick.." Sophia muttered out as she started searching through her purse once again. This time from her purse the green haired girl would pull out a potion, hurrying over to Chikorita's side to apply the medicine. Instantly healing Chikorita completely, little miracles those potions were.
Chikorita jumping a bit after she was healed, happily nuzzling her trainer's leg for a moment before getting serious again. "It looks kinda hurt Chick...try one more Energy Ball!" She said with a quick nod of her head, Chikorita already a step ahead of her already firing off an Energy Ball at Taillow.
the last energy hit hard — it took everything out of the little taillow, making it nearly dive-bomb the ground until it used the last bit of it's energy to spread it's wings and avoid a collision that would have broken many of his bones. tweeting quietly, he drifted off into unconsciousness, thinking idly about how hungry her was how late it was gonna be when he finally found some food.
taillow was hit by energy ball! it was a critical hit! taillow fainted! capture? more pokemon?
you've got me on my knees,I'm beggin', darlin' please
"Woooo!" Sophia cheered out as the Taillow went down because of the critical hit. Chikorita jumping into the air happily as this happened as well, the little grass type excited over a win. "You did good Chick."
The girl added as she gave the Chikorita a little pat on the head and returned Chikorita to her pokeball. After that she'd stand there for a moment, debating on what exactly she should do with the Taillow.
It didn't really fit any of her ideas for what to do in contests. But then again she couldn't bare to just leave the little bird out here on its own. What if something bigger comes around to eat the poor thing for dinner?
That thought itself was enough to make up her mind, made evident by the girl reaching into her purse for an empty pokeball.
Once she found one Sophia would pull it out and throw it at the Taillow, capturing the fainted pokemon with a cheerful smile on her face still. In her mind she just saved a Taillow from being eaten by something bigger, that was a win in her book.
With the Taillow now captured Sophia would head over to pick the pokeball up, only to keep on walking after that. Heading down the rest of the route on her own, in too much of a hurry to make it to the next city to keep searching for a pokemon.
