Notes: A reminder that I got the Pancham in a recent trade
@teru
Tugging at her hoodie strings, Teru once again glanced down at the small black and white Pokemon that tagged along beside her. It was strange, she had never really owned a Pokemon before. Sure, she had taken care of them on her fathers ranch, but she never actually had one to call her own. Well, until now that is. That fact alone caused a grin to blossom across her face.
So now she had her partner... now what. She was a ranger, newly recruited and still very much a rookie. A rookie just like the Pokemon now at her side. If she wanted to make a name for herself in the ranger world or put up any kind of fight on the poacher front she would need to become stronger. So the next logical course of action was to begin training effective immediately.
"Alright er... I never gave you a name, did I? Mmm... I guess not. Alright then! Your name from this day hence forth shall be..." She hummed and crossed her arms, tilting her head this way and that before suddenly breaking into a grin so sunny that it could fry eggs. "Pan-chan! Or Pan for short." She nodded, but Pan didn't seem so thrilled.
The tiny bear only grunted and continued to pad alongside Teru as she headed off into the tall grass. "By the time I'm done with you Pan-chan, your going to wipe the floor with those poacher scum. Training. Here. Now. So let's find something to spar with and make you stronger!" 'Pan-chan' was thrilled, or at least that's what his partner managed to assume from his heavily annoyed sigh.
the surskit scuttled through the brush of the trees, relishing in the humidity of the day. he felt rather nice, amazing even. when he found himself in a cute little clearing, he began to blow tiny little bubbles for himself, popping them every so often with a giggle. he couldn't get over how great a day it was already!
but then he heard the footsteps of what could only be a human. the surskit froze in his clearing, facing the rustling bushes and awaiting what could make this brilliant day suddenly awful.
a wild surskit appeared! the wild surskit is terrified!
The tell tale chitterlings of a wild Pokemon sounded in the distance, of what Pokemon however she was not sure. It sounded familiar... like she should almost know what it was that was hidden just around the bend of this one tree. As soon as the way was clear and Teru could clearly see what was in front of her however, the pink headed girl skidded to a stop. Right in front of her was clearly a bug Pokemon, a Surskit to be precise. One eyebrow and the corner of her lips twitched simultaneously.
Normally, she would be all for sparing with a bug type. She hated bug types, with a passion. They were just so creepy and weird! But this one... a bug type it was, but it was just so dang adorable. How on earth could a bug type be so cute! It should be against the laws of nature or something! Regardless, she couldn't have Pan-chan spar with it anyways, even if it wasn't cute enough to quell her hatred for the species. The poor thing was terrified.
She was no bully, and she was a ranger too boot. She could not with any clear conscious fight this Pokemon. Honestly, she would have tried to comfort it, if it had not been for the fact that it was still a bug. She wasn't going to go near it. Nope. Just nope. Cute or not. Just nope. "Ah... well. Not this one. Let's keep going Pan-chan!" Slidding off to the side, Teruya turned her back on the Surskit and kept moving.
the pidove glared at the human, whoever they were. almost immediately we went to attack the pokemon beside her, diving at first and then forming a gust of wind with his wings. that's what they get for showing up in his territory!!
"Pid! Dove!" he cried, sending another gust the pancham's way.
a wild pidove appeared! pidove is very territorial! pidove used gust x2!
Health: 75% Pan Dodged [1/2] Pan was hit by Gust Pan used Storm Throw x2
The young Ranger stopped in her tracks as she stood face to face with a very angry Pokemon. "H-hey now... whats with that face?" Poor Teru was reduced to sputtering no sooner had the words slipped from her lips. It was attacking her! That's... that's just not nice! "Oh no! Pan, get out of the way!" Sadly however, she was a bit too late. Pan did his very best to dodge the bird Pokemon's attacks, but try as he might he just wasn't fast enough to get out of the way in time.
Poor pan was blown back quite a bit by the force, getting cut and scraped along the way. But Pan wasn't out of the fight just yet. "Well, we wanted a spar didn't we Pan? I guess this big bully bird will have to do!" What was that move that they said he had? Oh, right. "Storm throw!" Shifting the leaf in it's mouth as he formed a grin, Pan shot towards the Pidove with his arms pulled back for his opening attack.
the pidove took the storm throws with great ease, hardly even noticing them despite making critical hits. unless this punk could come up with something better, there was no way he was gonna win this fight.
while swooping above their heads, the pidove growled at the pancham, attempting to intimidate it before unleashing another gust of wind.
pidove was hit by storm throw x2! pidove used growl! pidove used gust!
Health: 75% Pan Dodged [2/2] Pan was hit by Growl Pan used Tackle and Tackle
Well... dang it! Teru was a bit frustrated. That Storm Throw looked really powerful and yet that Pidove had taken it like it was nothing... like it was nothing! But why? How even. A memory flashed by quickly of Pokemon typing's and resistances and suddenly she felt very sheepish. "Oh right.... that things resistant against fighting types isn't it. And it's attacks hit extra hard too." So how on earth was she supposed to beat this thing if it kept dishing out damage like that!
It seemed that she was going to have to use strategy and wit to win this, something that honestly Teru didn't have use all that often. She would rather befriend a Pokemon then fight it, but what could she do? The Pidove was quick to retaliate and Teru needed to think fast. "Dodge it Pan!" She was running out of time, this she knew. A few more solid hits and Pan would be out for the count. And if THAT happened she didn't have another Pokemon on her to keep fighting.
The growl was pretty intimidating alright, but Pan could be intimidating too. He wasn't about to loose this one. If it's one thing he hated, it was a bully. This Pidove was just attacking anything that came near it, and that just wasn't cool! "Come on Pan. Stare it back down and tackle it off of it's high horse." Well, Pan didn't have to be told twice. With a glare he dove towards him in a full bodied tackle.
what?! how did it do that?! the pidove squawked in anger as the pancham dodged not one, but both of his attacks. that was insane! totally insane!
the two tackles hit him hard. real hard. with another squawk, the pidove unleashed another gust, followed quickly with a growl. see if you can dodge that, punk!
pidove was hit by tackle x2! pidove used gust! pidove used growl!
Health: 40% Pan was hit by Growl Pan was hit by Gust Pan used Tackle and Tackle
Pan smirked in his triumph, his opponent seemingly baffled at the fact that he had the skills to pay the bills. Whatever that meant, he really didn't know, some kind of human saying. Of course, that smirk didn't last for very long. The Pidove growled at him yet again, sending a shiver down his spine that he quickly hid from view. He didn't want to give the Pidove's ego any kind of boosting, his head might burst right off his tiny little shoulders from the pressure.
He was unable to dodge the gust that the bird brain sent his way however, not this time. It left him battered and bruised and with a whole lot of angry ready to be sent back his way.
"Tch, thinks hes so tough. You got this one Pan, he looks weakened. Tackle him to the ground! Show him who's boss." Teru did have her doubts though. That was an awful lot of Growl attacks that said Pokemon had thrown his way. Far too many. A few more and Pan's tackles might not do anything at all. All the more reason they needed to end this quickly. "Come on Pan, you can do it!" Cheered on by his trainers words of encouragement, Pan initiated his tackle, aiming for the Pokemon's side.
the tackles were just too much. the pidove hit the ground, and hard. his eyes were just barely able to stay open to see the trainer and her pokemon rejoicing. he slowly closed his eyes, tweeting a little under his breath as he did. maybe this was a fight he shouldn't have started.
pidove was hit by tackle x2! pidove fainted! capture? more pokemon?
Health: 40% Pan got stronger woo! Looking for another Poke
And just like that, the tyrannical rein of the bully Pidove had come to an abrupt end. Sighing at the sight of the injured Pidove, Teru sadly shook her head. "That's what you get for being so mean. If you hadn't attacked us, this would have never happened." It was true that they had been looking for a spar, but she would have asked first. Fighting other Pokemon against that Pokemon's will was just plain mean. This Pokemon wanted to fight alright, and it didn't care who was on the receiving end either. Even still, she felt sorry for it.
Picking the Pidove off the ground, she would move it under some type of cover. A bush perhaps, or place it up in a nearby tree. Some place in which it would be safe until it recovered. She had no want or need of a bully on her team, so she simply left it be once she was sure it would be safe on it's own. Once that was done, she would turn to her partner with a savage smile. "You did great Pan. And look at you! Your that much stronger already. Are you good for one more go?" The bear Pokemon gave a thumbs up and that was the only answer she needed. Leaving the Pidove behind, they moved onward.
a zigzagoon stumbled onto the path. a large gash was on it's side, and it looked pretty terrified. he looked at the trainer with wide, worried eyes and struggled to run away, only to tumble and hurt himself more. oh no! was this trainer gonna hurt him?! all he wanted to do was get away!!
a wild zigzagoon appeared! zigzagoon is injured! what will teruya do?
The moment that Teruya spotted the injured Pokemon she was already on the move. "Oh you poor thing. No no, don't you worry now I'm not going to hurt you none." Giving a reassuring smile she spread her hands in front of her and gave the Zigzagoon a reassuring smile. Wincing at the size of the injury that she managed to see so far she knew that this Pokemon was in trouble. She glanced worriedly over at her Pokemon. "Help me out Pan, if it keeps moving like that it's only going to make it worse."
Pan eyed the Zigzagoon warily, but the Pokemon was far from any kind of threat. Not like that Pidove a while back. It inched forward and tried to get a bit closer to try and keep the Pokemon from trying to flee in it's injured state. "Can I touch you? I would like to help if you would let me. That's a pretty big gash you got there." Teru really wanted to help him out, if only the Pokemon would let her. Perhaps if she could get close enough she could make some sort of make shift bandage.
he was utterly terrified of this girl and what she could do. she kept stepping closer and closer, but he found himself struck immobile by horror. he was going to die here, just his luck.
but then the girl seemed nice, kind. and the very least, she sounded concerned. maybe she could help? the zigzagoon winced a little as she offered to touch, but he seemed to calm down a little and nod. anything that could help, right? and if it was a trap, he was already dead anyways...
zigzagoon was frozen in horror! zigzagoon accepts teruya's help!
Notes: PLOT TWIST! This Zigzagoon was adopted by a family of Pidove's, I just fought his father. He is facing an identity crisis. No one has ever told him he was adopted, they just don't have the heart to tell him. He one day dreams he will be able to fly D: I believe in you Zigzagoon. I believe. T~T
Continuing her onslaught of soothing words, Teru pressed forward, giving a reassuring smile to the injured Pokemon to try and ease its worries. It seemed excessively nervous of her, which made her wounder what had caused this injury in the first place. Was it another trainer who did this? She really hoped not, it gave people a bad name for this sort of thing. It was true, they frequently fought and captured Pokemon. But something like this? Way out of line.
Digging in her bag, she tried to find something she could use as a makeshift bandage. She would have to remember to pick some up at the next town and scolded herself for not remembering to pack a first aid kit before hand. Instead, all she had to work with at the current moment was a clean shirt that she never really liked all that much anyways. Tearing off it's sleeves, she stripped a few bandages and attempted to wrap them around the Zigzagoon's injury. If only she had a needle and thread this would be so much easier!
"I'm not going to lie to you, this looks pretty bad. I would take you to a Pokemon Center if you would let me. They have specialists there that know how to treat this kind of injury. There is only so much someone like me can do, but I will try to do all that I can. No need to be afraid, I don't want to fight you."
