(How do I do that spiffy thing with the PKMN sprites?)
If I wanna kick back and kill a little time
It Ain't no crime
Where all the Pokeymanz at?
He'd had some time to kill, anyway. It'd take Nera a while to get through the registrar.
Might as well, right?
He stood in a patch of grass, surveying the area, waiting for any sort of stimulus. He was ready, as were his partners.
With one hand, he adjusted his royal blue longcoat, which fluttered softly in the breeze. Crimson eyes scanned the fields and treeline, waiting for some sort of disturbance. His stance spoke of alertness, every muscle wound up with tension.
Kikazaru stood at his master's side. He'd been brought up by Magma Breeders, and so knew his place. He was a soldier. Maximilian, his commander. Fully confident in his own power, he picked his teeth with the end of one of his absurdly-sharp claws. He was, indeed, on alert, but, he wasn't worried.
The two stood together, in obvious challenge to the wild denizens of the area. ...But, unusually bright locals would realize this was not the case. That the THREE of them stood. A strange, conical stone sat in one of the Trainer's hands, appearing to have a grimacing face etched into it. It was hard to make out in the light of day, but, the cracks fluoresced just the faintest lavender. Legion were anxious to show Maximilian what they could do. The stone thrummed in his hand, the glow slightly intensifying.
"Heh. Shouldn't be long. Either something will see us as a threat, trespasser, or worthy opponent. Soon, gentlemen."
...Well. As far as he knew, Dunsparce weren't terribly common, at all. Problem with them is, most people only desire Dunsparce, simply because they're rare. He'd never, actually, seen one in person, knew almost nothing about them.
...This Arceus-forsaken thing was FIVE FEET LONG. It was kinda cute, in its own way, but, this thing was HUGE. He couldn't tell, himself, much more about it by looking, though, other than that it didn't seem hostile.
Not that Kikazaru cared much. The fire monkey grinned, flashing his claws menacingly. It was time to throw down. ...Or, so he thought, until Max's hand came down in front of him. He didn't understand why his commander didn't want him to attack, but, he had his orders.
Max set the odd rock down on the ground, the "eyes" of which glowed faintly green, as his hands went into his pockets. Legion was curious, as well. There was two of them. They could easily destroy this worm, even without the monkey's help. But, their keeper was going a different direction, it seemed.
Max, himself, pulled out two things. One, a cookie, which he set on the ground in front of him. In his other hand, he palmed a Pokeball. Didn't wanna scare the thing off.
does she want the cookie? not really. but she still moved forward and gave it a good smell or two, taking in the rich scents. she was completely unaware of the pokeball the trainer had in his hands too.
Kikazaru and Legion, at this point, just stared at eachother. Neither could comprehend what their master was doing. Kikazaru puzzled over why you would show kindness to an enemy. It's the enemy. Capture, or destroy. And Legion... ...Well, Legion were still working on the whole "kindness" concept.
Max, however, knew what he was doing. He smiled, nudging the cookie closer. Sure, Kikazaru and Legion could take on this Dunsparce. Especially since, as ruthless as the two are, they'd probably double-team it. And, once ravaged, capture would be a breeze. But, he saw no reason to breed animosity, if he could help it.
"Come on. It's okay. Take it." He assured the creature, gently.
Max smiled as he let the creature take the cookie from his hand. Build up a rapport, that's the way to do it. With a smile, he turned his other hand over, finger tapping the button to expand the Pokeball to its usable size.
"It must be a hard thing, living here in the wild, fending for yourself. You should come with me. You won't have a thing to worry about, with us."
Kikazaru was still quite puzzled. He couldn't understand why his Trainer didn't just order an attack! Surely, between the two of them, this little worm wouldn't have a ghost of a chance. He ground his claws together in anticipation, eagerly waiting for the order.
...Legion, however, couldn't help but feel pride for their little thief. Not every Pokemon need be subdued in single combat. They, themselves, were gained by Max by right of Cleverness. Kikazaru, a gift. Who knows what could happen; wild Pokemon can be dangerous. The less resources you have to spend, the better, and Legion knew that all too well. Their trainer was wise. They were glad for that.
Dunsparce happily scarfed the cookie down, eating so fast the pokemon choked on the cookie for a brief moment. Before making what sounded like some coughing sounds. As soon as the cookie was done Dunsparce would cough a bit more, the cookie was a bit dry. Needing something to wash it down with Dunsparce would roll over onto its stomach and hold its mouth open, moving her tail up to point at her mouth. Trying to tell the trainer she was thirsty.
