"Let's go sight-seeing, gang!" Dmitri had taken to calling his pokemon the gang, and they seemed to respond well to the idea of taking in the sights. But first, Dmitri had to find the sights. Should we go to the beach? Maybe they have a boardwalk. Boardwalk fries were a delicacy his parents told him about, once upon a time when his parents visited the other regions during their youth.
*Wolfish whistling.*
Now there's a sight for sore eyes. There was a younger looking gentleman, brunette and clad in blue-and-white attire. It looked good on him, and Dmitri had to reel himself in for a moment. What would Usagi think...
"Hey there, Mr. Seagoer!" He wasn't quite sure what to make of this man, other than the fact he seemed to be one for seavoyaging. He closed the gap between them, eyeing up the other; it was an ocular patdown. I hope he's a nice guy.
"Is there a boardwalk around here in Slateport?" The stranger seemed like he might have business around here, at the port or some other nautical business. I wonder what he's into? That's when he noticed the bandana around his arm, but the sigil was ruffled underneath the folds of cloth. It looked more like some unusual pattern, not to mention Dmitri wasn't all too keen on the criminal symbols used in Hoenn.
"Mind showing me around? I need a place to bring my boyfriend on a date." Strutting up to the stranger, he put an arm around him and began forcing him along with him. You don't really have a choice, do you? Maybe he could make this person uncomfortable enough to quickly point the way before they dashed.
Or maybe he'll surprise me. Suddenly, Dmitri realized he hadn't even given the boy his name. Aw shucks, what a bad habit. He paused for a moment.

"A Boardwalk is like, a giant wooden sidewalk along the coast. I'm foreign and even I know what they are! Sheesh." Perhaps Will wasn't the man for the job, but Dmitri didn't feel like letting him off the hook just yet. Instead he got a little more grabby, pinching Will on the shoulder for being such a useless guide.
"You've got to know something about this place. Do they have anything to do around here for fun?" This guy doesn't get around much, does he? He wondered how William might have felt if he tried to come onto him.
That might be fun... His thoughts briskly returned to Usagi, who was waiting down by Mr. Briney's for their trip to Dewford later that same evening.
"Are you a trainer, by any chance? Most of the younger guys I've come across have all been trainers. I'm sorry if I'm assuming too much." He squeezed William again, something about pinching his pale skin made him feel giddy inside. Like he was torturing him with every move he made, even though he was taking out his frustrations of not being able to get close enough to Usagi on the poor lad.
This isn't right... He let go of William after the pinch, hoping for it to come off as a friendly tease moreso than Dmitri actually trying to come onto him. He knows I have a boyfriend, so he shouldn't suspect as much... He seemed okay with the contact, though not at all pleased.

"Well then, maybe you know if this city has a Gym? I haven't seen one around..." I guess it wouldn't be fair to suggest every city in Hoenn had a Gym. There's only eight of them in entirety, after all. Still, being the locale of the summer gala seemed to Dmitri that there ought to be some significant reason for pokemon to come here.
"Do they have an arena here for trainers to battle? What type of pokemon do you raise?" I have so many questions, I wonder if he can answer them all? He wondered how William might have felt about having a pokemon battle between the two of them.
"I'm busy raising a Swinub, Skorupi and Abra myself. They'll get there some day." His pokemon never left his thoughts, and sometimes he wished it was possible to let them freely roam without their pokeballs inhibiting them. But there were probably statutes against that sort of thing in bustling public and residential areas.
"You're not a very fun guy, are you?" He could tell be the way Will seemed to brood over something, instead of focus on their conversation with anything more than a few short, simple answers. Maybe he's just one of those moody people. Dmitri wanted to try and cheer him up, and remind him what having fun meant.
But they had gotten off to a rotten start, it seemed.

"Aerodactyl, eh? So they do bring back extinct pokemon in Hoenn" The least you could do is crack a fake smile, and pretend to be happy someone's talking to you. He wondered if Will has ever considered whether the pokemon wanted to be brought back, or whether restoring them raised any ethical questions.
He's probably just absorbed in the idea of having such a rare and unique pokemon. Dmitri wasn't going to try and burst that bubble. Instead he took a hint, and started edging away from William. Obviously Dmitri wasn't quite his cup of tea.
"Thanks, Will. I'll be on my way now." Perhaps in the future they would meet under better circumstances. As for now, he saw no more reason to trouble a stranger with his own concerns. Still, it would have been nice to make a new friend.
What Dmitri didn't know was that the circumstances surrounding their next meeting would likely be much more hostile than he might have guessed. Will was bearing the sigil of Team Aqua, and had he noticed, Dmitri might have challenged him outright.
