Sylvester had decided to go an see what Route 106 was all about. By the sound of it, lots of ground and rock type pokemon flourished the area. What he was looking for was fairly specific, though seeing new pokemon was always worth his while. Not to mention his pokemon grew stronger fighting out in the wild. It was always a good thing for him to come out here.
After making his way through the cave, though, he wondered just what was out here for him to scavenge. 'There doesn't seem to be a lot of pokemon about...' Though, there were plots of sand mixed around near the gravel and dirt. 'Maybe they are all just hiding from me?' Moving towards a patch of sand, he gave a firm swing of his foot to kick up the sand, startling any pokemon that may have been hiding below.
With a pokeball in his hand, Sylvester was ready...
Drowzee watched eagerly, the shadows of the cave masking his presence well as he hid among to the rocks, inside the cracks, and in dark, open air. The human would be a perfect sacrifice. The drowzee cackled, and then stopped, realized that it had given away its location. He sighed. Oh well; it was already beyond due time. For the human's death, anyway. His dreams had told him as much. The human kicked up sand, but nothing was underneath. Instead, the drowzee appeared behind him, and the whole cave slowly became filled with a vile, poisonous gas.
drowzee appeared! drowzee uses poison gas on sylvester!

Sylvester heard the laughter of a pokemon before turning around, a pokeball already in-hand. Watching the poisonous gas drift towards him, he summoned the pokemon and sent it to combat the Drowzee. "Go Kseniya, uses Shadow Claw on that Drowzee!"
As his pokemon sailed forward, it pulled itself from it's sheathe, waving it about to dissipate the dense cloud. As it passed through, a cleaving motion was made towards the Drowzee, purple hues emanating from the sword pokemon's edge. "Use another one!" Sylvester was infuriated that a pokemon had tried something so heinous as a sneak attack, though it was too foolish to maintain the element of surprise. He would make sure it paid for what it did.
No Guard - Lv.16 - Healthy Kseniya is immune to Poison Gas! Kseniya uses Shadow Claw! Kseniya uses Shadow Claw!
Drowzee was not expecting a pokemon, to be honest. All his years in the cave left him more or less unaware of the state of humans. Who knew they were using pokemon to fight for them now? The psychic type managed to roll out of the way of the first shadow claw, but the next one hurt him. The drowzee quickly used telepathic suggestion on the opponent, making sure he never had to see that creepy sight of the shadow claw again by disabling the move altogether. In an attempt to get the upperhand, drowzee used hypnosis on the Honedge, trying to get it to fall asleep so he could continue in his attempt to abduct the stranger.

This Drowzee had gotten on Sylvester's last nerve. He could tell something was wrong with Kseniya before the next psychic move was being delivered. "Kseniya, dodge!" The ghost sword sailed to it's right, narrowly avoiding what the Drowzee had thrown.
"Alright, use swords dance." Kseniya began to move about, apparitions of other swords moving around her before the edge of her bladed glinted with light. "Now hit'em with pursuit." Kseniya once more chased down the opposition, intent on bringing him the swift end he righteously deserved.
'I really do hate psychic types sometimes...' They were a complete nuisance. Thankfully, Sylvester had a ghost type pokemon to make the job quick. Turned out catching this Honedge was really paying off, even now, if not in the grand scheme.
The sword-like pokemon sliced through the air and dodged out of the way of the psychic rays, leaving Drowzee annoyed and unsure of what to do. The pokemon began dancing some runic dance, and the Drowzee knew at once that a dance could only lead to something terrible. His predictions, surprisingly, came true, and a powerful purple blast came shooting his way, forcing the psychic type to its last legs. But those legs could still stand- the drowzee had more experience, and at the very least that counted for something. He sent out waves of energy again, once more suggesting the honedge to fall to a slumber, so that maybe the psychic type could get away without any more injury. It was plain that the wild pokemon was about to faint.
drowzee used hypnosis! drowzee is about to faint! what will trainer sylvester do?

The final efforts of this battle were coming to fruition, and it left Sylvester feeling sorry that he wanted to so swiftly put this battle to an end. Yet, remembering the initial moments between the two, the Drowzee was willing to attack a trainer with poison when he had yet to even display that he had any pokemon. His Honedge could use the experience in battle...
"Dodge and use pursuit again to go after him!" Gliding to the side of the psychic waves once more, Kseniya flitted swiftly through the air as she stalked down the Drowzee, keen on exacting her thorough punishment. She would go after him until it was certain the trouble pokemon could not cause the pokemon or her trainer anymore grief. "Good job."
The psychic type finally could not handle the fighting any more, regretting immediately that it had come into the fray in the first place. The Drowzee fell to the ground, sprawled on the damp floor at the trainer's feet. It mumbled and moaned rather eeriely as it fell into a deep sleep, ironically having a nightmare itself instead of giving one to the opponent. Oh well.
drowzee faints! hoedge gains 3 levels! another pokemon?

Allowing the Drowzee the time it needed to recuperate, Sylvester also decided on doing the same for his own pokemon. "Good job, Kseniya. You can take a break." Swapping out his Honedge, Sylvester thought carefully before making a decision. "Alright Gunther, it's your turn." He said, selecting the correct pokeball and releasing the contents before him. "Swabluuu!" The bird pokemon came out humming it's calming tune.
"Stay wary of wild pokemon." As they continued walking through the cave, Sylvester knew there had to be pokemon nearby. From the sounds of movement ahead, to an isolated rumble further within, there was a lot that gave him the impression something was in here. Regardless, Sylvester and his pokemon pressed onward, Gunther several feet ahead of him with an advantageous view. "Don't go too far ahead without me." His usual habit...
Natural Cure - Lv.21 - Healthy Gunther is on standby!
In the far corner of the cave was a pair of dark, calculating, bug-like eyes; yellow and with dark, distinct pupils. The purple pokemon's poisoning nature made it lurk within the walls of the cave, only appearing in order to feed and stare, like it was doing now. It watched with avid interest as the Swablu fluttered by, chewing a moss-covered rock as it did so. Ah, food was scarce in places like these, and the Venipede had to struggle so...
wild venipede appears! what will trainer sylvester do?

Yet another pokemon lingered out from the depths of the cave, this one in particular sending a chill up Sylvester's spine. "Gunther, take care of him with your peck attack!" Bugs were one of the things Sylvester liked the least. He had to admit that some were very cool, but when it came down to it they were real creepy. From the sounds they made, to their foreign anatomy. Yet this specimen looked most promising, especially after further analysis with his pokedex. "We're going to try and capture this one, so don't let him get away."
He wondered now just how strong the Venipede and it's poison was. Sylvester wasn't very keen on sending his pokemon in to get hurt, but for such a prize pokemon...how could he refuse? "Keep using peck to wear him down some more." He would have to force the pokemon into submission, which more than likely was going to result in a long battle. This little guy didn't seem to be as reluctant to face Sylvester like the Drowzee from before.
Oh, did this trainer have the annoying habit of picking a fight with the first remotely living creature it saw, as well? The Venipede snorted, and spat out the mossy piece of stone it had been chewing, just in time to be hurt by the oncoming peck from the Swablu. The venipede stumbled backwards, trying to ignore how annoying the trainer was being. It saw the other peck coming, unblinking, yellow eyes catching on to everything after being so accustomed to the cave's lighting. Displaying speeds that should not have been possible for a bug, the Venipede let out a horrendous screech and then jumped into the air, elegantly rolling before extending its body into a poison tail aimed directly for the swablu.
venipede is hit by peck! super effective! venipede dodges peck! venipede uses screech! venipede uses poison tail!

Sylvester was certain now that he had to capture this pokemon, if not for it's pokedex entry, then it's sheer stunning fortitude to fight. The way the Venipede leaped up into the air after shrieking at his Swablu was formidable, and while Sylvester would not allow his pokemon to be injured so easily, he could certainly enjoy the potential this pokemon had in battle. "Gunther, dodge his tail."
Rearing about in it's flight, Gunther made a u-turn and followed through until it could circle about and followed through with it until directly behind the Venipede and chasing it now instead of being chased. "Alright Gunther, follow him back down to the ground and attack him there with more pecks." This was getting a bit interesting now, Sylvester feeling a bit more excited than normal because of the pokemon he was fighting. 'I really hope we can catch this little guy.' Though he could have treated it better in terms of his approach. Now the Venipede was going to hate his guts, which was unfortunate seeing as Sylvester hoped to make this pokemon the finishing piece to his pokemon dream team...if such a thing were real.
His tail hit solid ground, and the Venipede winced in pain. Instinct took over- hew knew two things. One, that the swablu was behind him, and two, that it would be attacking soon. Summoning strentgh, the bug type created a quick barrier in order to protect itself- the peck was useless against the quick defense. The bug then dodged out of the way of the next peck, and then launched itself up to attack once again.

The Venipede certainly wasn't going to go down without a fight, shielding himself completely from Gunther's peck before managing to avoid the one following soon after. "Alright Gunther, dodge him one more time." Circling about in the air, the Swablu faked out the Venipede to escape the reach of it's tail. He then followed after it upon it's descent back towards the ground, beak poised straight ahead and ready to attack. "That's it, Gunther, another two pecks and this is as good won!" The excitement in his voice became more apparent as the battle waged.
This pokemon...Venipede, as it was called by his pokedex. There was a lot going for it, even though Sylvester felt a little inclined to turn it down at first. But...after seeing it in battle? Sylvester knew the right choice was to try to capture this pokemon. Maybe it could even help him with his fear of bugs after spending some time to learn more about it?
