hello calamity! we're nearing the two months mark in a few weeks. how time flies! right now we have two things going on that need your participation. the first is an activity check! it is impotant that you check in so you don't lose your face claim. the second is the otm nomiations! we're doing it a bit different than last time. so please submit your nominations in. a vote thread will be up in the next few days. there will also be a formal event coming very soon, so keep your eye out for that. keep being cool!
we're currently about to host calamity's first contest in slatepor. trainers are flocking to the city to see, the city's been trying to get good pr since the gala, and it seems to be working! they're asking for both coordinators and volunteer judges to sign up.

"woohoo! let's goo, goomy!" yoki shouts to the gooey dragon type that she still has to think of a nickname for. when the redhead asked for a randomized rare at the lab, she had hoped for a cool water type like squirtle, piplup, or oshawott. however, goomy appeared instead. but that was okay, because goomy was a pretty cool pokemon too. even though it wasn't water-typed.
"let's goooooo." the redhead moaned, and finally, the goomy picked up some speed. yoki broke into a smile at the sight, reaching over to lightly pat the pale-colored dragon type. sure, her hand was a little gooey now, but, eh, whatever. not that big of a deal anyways.
"goomy, you need a nickname. since you're a girl, why don't i call you lavender? it's cute, isn't it?' yoki peered at the dragon type, as if expecting her to reply. the purple creature blinked a couple of times but didn't seem to refuse, so the redhead took it as a yes.
"lavender it is! well, lavender, let's find us some friends, shall we?" yoki declared and began skipping foward again, clearly excited to meet some pokemon.
It had been a pretty good morning for the Wingull so far, after all the early bird gets the worm. And Wingull was the first one of her brothers and sisters to wake up today, meaning that she got to get the most food from their mommy. Now the bird was on the lookout for something fun to do. As Wingull flew ahead, going right over Yoki, she'd have to..relieve her self, pooping as she flew along. Luckily enough the bird's poo should only land near Yoki and not on the girl itself. So she was at least safe from bird poo. Wingull would look down as this happened, hoping to hit the trainer underneath her, once she noticed that the poo missed however she would get angry! Flying over to a nearby branch and landing on it, before starting to stare daggers at Yoki, not even noticing the trainer's pokemon.
yoki was having a fine time with her newly named lavender when she heard a loud plop! near her. she glanced to her right and immediately winced at the sight of bird poop. "thank arceus," the redhead said out loud, glaring at the white gooey splotch on the ground.
figuring it was nothing, yoki continued foward. however, she quickly realized that lavender wasn't following her. the redhead put her hand on her hips. "what are you doing there? let's go!" she cried, a little impatiently. the gooey pokemon made no movement.
with a sigh, yoki moved towards the goomy, getting ready to pick her up. that is, until she saw the purple pokemon staring at something. she turned her head towards the direction lavender had her eyes on.
ah.
"Oh!" yoki blinked a few times, clearly surprised at the sight of the wingull. she felt guilty for shouting at lavender now, so she gave the pokemon a few awkward pats. "welp, er, sorry, lavender," the redhead offered a lame apology.
after a few moments, yoki cleared her throat. "well, let's get some training in, shall we?" she suggested, and immediately pointed towards the white bird. "let's use bubble, then a tackle!"

Uh oh, the trainer and her pokemon noticed her. Wingull would try to brace herself for what would come next. Getting ready to dig her talons into the branch to hang on at any moment. Only to immediately ease up once she saw the bubbles coming. What they want to play? Wingull thought, having no idea that a Bubble attack would actually hurt her. She'd sit still for now, waiting for the bubbles to come close, and as soon as one did she'd lean forward trying to peck it with her beak. Only for the bubble's to be tougher and more painful then she thought, the bubbles hitting her and knocking her off the branch. Wingull shook her head in anger as she hit the ground before flying up into the air a bit, barely managing to get up in time to avoid the incoming tackle attack. So they did want to fight after all! With that in mind Wingull would keep on hovering in the air, before firing two water gun attacks at the Goomy!
Wingull used Watergun x2! Wingull dodged Tackle (1/2) Hurt a bit Yoki Borra
for a brief second yoki felt bad for the wingull when the bubbles knocked her out of the tree. the little bird looked like it wanted to play, not fight. but oh well. lavender needed the experience anyways.
a frown flickered across yoki's forehead when the wingull successfully dodged the tackle and shot out two blasts of water at lavender. "lavender, dodge!" the redhead shouts, but it was too late. within a few seconds the gooey pokemon was both drenched and hurt.
the redhead looked at the wingull with both admiration and anger. it was certainly a tough little fellow. yoki jerked her hand at the white bird again. "lavender, attack with bubble and then use absorb!" she shouts out her next command. hopefully this time the wingull would dodge none.
SUMMARY: goomy got hit x2 slightly hurt goomy used bubble! goomy used absorb!
This time Wingull was ready for the bubbles! She eagerly took the attack head on, getting knocked back a bit but not falling out of the air from the impact. However the Absorb attack caught her off guard, she had no idea what was coming for her and had no plans of figuring that out. Dodging out of the way of the Absorb before it can hit her, still fluttering around in the air. After the dodge Wingull would hover around for a moment before once again firing off two separate water gun attacks, not knowing any other attacks at all.

yoki grimaced as the wingull seemed to easily shake off the effects of the bubble attack. she groaned again after the wingull dodged the absorb by a quick change of direction. looks like we'll have to take it more physically, the redhead thought to herself, about to shout out a command.
The first water gun struck lavender, though it wasn't as painful as the last two bursts of water. seeing another one coming to her, the gooey purple pokemon made a quick jump to the left, avoiding the attack by a pinch.
"awesome dodge, lavender! that's how things should be!" yoki cried out excitedly. with another happy squeal, she shouts out another command. "tackle it a few times, lavender!" the redhead gave the dragon type an encouraging smile before stepping back, her eyes on the battle.
SUMMARY: goomy was hit! hurt goomy dodged water gun! goomy used tackle x2!
The first tackle made contact with Wingull, knocking her out of the air she was hovering around in. Luckily enough she wasn't that high up to make a tackle impossible to work, just a little jump during the tackle and boom Wingull went crashing down. After the first tackle landed Wingull would struggle back up to her feet, only to get hit with a second tackle, this tackle sending wingull flying backwards, back first into the tree behind her. "GULLL" The bird pokemon chirped out as it smacked the tree, before sinking down to the ground, completely fainted this time!
Wingull fainted! Wingull is available for capture!
Goomy gained two levels! Another pokemon? Yoki Borra
yoki widened her eyes as the wingull was sent backwards. she heard a loud smacking sound and before she knew it, the white seagull fainted. the redhead broke into a large smile and bent down, giving lavender a few affectionate pats. "good job, lavender!" yoki cried, her red colored eyes shining with pure joy.
she stood up a few seconds later and dug through her bag for a pokeball. after finally getting it into her hand, yoki threw it at the fainted wingull. the capsule wiggled a few times but quickly stopped, letting out a quiet ping!, indicating that the wingull was captured.
yoki broke into another grin and quickly moved foward to pick up the pokeball. "looks like we got a new friend already, lavender!" the redhead told the little dragon. lavender blinked a few times, but made no other kind of expression.
the team aqua grunt tucked the pokeball back into her bag before moving foward. "let's find our next victim, shall we?" the redhead suggested to lavender, skipping ahead cheerfully.
SUMMARY: wingull was captured! goomy gainted two levels! another pokemon please!
It wouldn't take Yoki too long to find her next 'victim' as she put it. As she skipped along a Wurmple would come down from a tree branch. Hanging upside down from a string she made with string shot, putting herself face to face with the girl. Before letting out a happy sounding "Wuuurm~"
Wurmple popped down in front of Yoki to say hi Yoki Borra
at the sight of a wurmple dropping down from a tree, yoki would scream. not because she was scared of bugs, but because it startled her.
yoki would then stare at the red bug in front of her. she had to admit, she was a little disappointed that it wasn't something a bit cooler. but after seeing the wurmple greet her so happily, the redhead decided to stay and interact with the bug.
"helloooo," yoki says, offering the wurmple her hand. "nice meeting you here, little one! but, uh, i guess i'm sorry if i scared you by screaming earlier," she apologized rather awkwardly. if you can call it an apology, that is.
"oh, right, and look! this is my friend, lavender," yoki points at the little gooey pokemon next to her, who was staring at the wurmple with both curiosity and suspicion. "and i'm yoki. what are you doing out here, little one?" the girl asks, as if the pokemon would actually reply.
SUMMARY: screamed interacting with the wurmple in a rather friendly way
Once she screamed the Wurmple would start to retract her string, starting to go back up into the brach, the scream scared her as well. Only for it to stop making its way back up once the girl talked and seemed to hold out her hand, which caused her to come right back down. Granted that she didn't make it too far up yet at all, only moving up slowly. The whole time she talked Wurmple stared at her in silence, only stopping to look at the Goomy once she gestured to it. Wurmple hadn't ever gotten this far with a human, usually they either screamed at her or tried to fight her, she never met a friendly one before. While still staring at her Wurmple would just hold her mouth open as wide as she could, trying to tell the trainer that she wanted some food.
yoki stared blankly at the wurmple as it simply opened it's mouth. what did it want? was it suppose to be some kind of game for the bug, or something? uncertainly, the redhead opened her own mouth as well, staring right back the pokemon.
a few minutes went by and the bug didn't seem to have a response, so yoki closed her mouth impatiently and turned towards lavender. "what does the wurmple want, lavender?" she asks, rather irritated. the goomy blinked slowly and stared at her trainer's bag.
yoki tipped her head on the side but opened her bag, rumaging through it to see if there was anything that would interest the bug. a few seconds later the redhead grabbed out a bag of pokemon food with a smile. "so, you're hungry, huh?" the redhead double-checked before opening the bag, fishing out a few kibbles. She offered them to the red-colored bug with a small smile.
Kibble! Once the girl pulled out the food Wurmple would literally jump into her hand from the string she was hanging off of. Moving around in the girls hand as Wurmple practically inhaled all of the bits of kibble, before making a loud burp as she finished. Ooonly to then look back up at the girl and open her mouth again, wanting even more food, or something to wash it down with that works too.
