You said r104 in your PM but that would put me near dewford town, so I put it here, the route before Petalburg~ also, idk what's gonna happen in the 2 battle threads, so I'm leaving it vague on how much stronger Stella is and if he has any more pokemon. "C'mon Stella, time to go!" The little shinx battled well the other day against that guy and the wild pokemon. He was proud of the little kitten. She was already starting to behave more so he didn't mind keeping her out of her pokeball. She stayed within eyesight so he really didn't see much of a problem. They did need to work on her 'hello' though...
Ozzy remembered his conversation with Sylvester from the morning before and wondered if he was still lingering around this route or Petalburg to meet up like he has suggested. As they left Oldale town and began their journey to Petalburg, he whipped out his pokenav and texted the man -
" I'm on route 102 if you want to meet up? "
He hoped the man was still around, anyway. It was nice getting through the route with someone, then going back and training once you've made it to the town.

Sylvester appeared out of the blue no more than an hour later after receiving the text sent from Ozwald. Arriving from his front, it would be obvious from afar that Sylvester was not traveling alone. A bipedal orange-and-yellow bird walked at his side, letting out a sharp call once the other male was in sight.
"Hey. Looks like your Shinx is starting to behave. That's good." Noticing the little kitten moving about on it's own accord, he was glad it had decided not to get near him this time. Not only did he want to keep his shoes from being ruined so early on in his journey, but he could not very well say how Flint, his Combusken, would take to another pokemon running up to them like that.
While he was very playful and energetic as a Torchic, Flint became much more fierce now that he had grown. Even Sylvester was wary of the strength behind those legs. The data on Combusken in his pokedex said the pokemon could kick ten times per second. It made him wonder if he could handle the pokemon, let alone a Blaziken, which is what Flint would evolve into in the future.
They hung out on the route for about an hour when he saw two shapes approaching. Stella actually saw them first and made a sound which alerted Ozzy, but the technicalities didn't matter here. He saw the second, shorter shape walking at his side and immediately recognized it as a combusken. Must've been the same one he mentioned the day before.
"Glad you were still around to make it," he smiled at the man and waved. Stella walked up to the combusken and sniffed at him before issuing a greeting. "Yeah, we got some training done on the last route. She's getting stronger," he smiled down at Stella as she checked out the combusken, then looked back up at him when he spoke again. "Definitely, let's go?" he prompted, eager to get there as fast as possible so he could start some more training.

"If you insist." Sylvester held his hand out towards the direction of the trail he had just come from. Starting with a brisk pace as it appeared Ozzy was in a hurry, it seemed he wasn't the only one.
"Combusken!" Sylvester's pokemon called out, grabbing Sylvester and trying to pull him along as it ran at a full sprint. Sylvester fought the pokemon, barely managing to rip free of it's grasp before he would be dragged along like a rag doll. "Calm down, Flint." The pokemon seemed a bit troubled by the reluctance his trainer was showing, turning around with a subtle frown. "I can't keep up with you, you're way too fast for me." The bird let out a sharp whine before sulking with it's head down.
"I guess I should do things with my pokemon more often." Combusken's head shot up at the mention of being given more attention. "It has been awhile since I had Combusken out with me in the wild." Sylvester looked over towards Ozzy.
"Maybe next time we meet, we could have a friendly battle between your Shinx and my Combusken?" Both Sylvester and his pokemon waited for an answer, looking as though they were aspiring for Ozzy to accept the friendly competition.
Ozzy was eager to move along and followed the man's gesture with Stella joining him as he passed. He laughed a bit as the combusken tried to drag him off in a full blown sprint. "Flint seems like a really great pokemon; should do well in your first gym!" he smiled, hoping to bring up the combusken spririts a little before the man mentioned doing more with his pokemon. He wasn't sure how well Stella would do - she wasn't strong or weak towards the first gym, so there was really no telling.
Sylveser then mentioned battling next time and Ozzy looked down at Stella to see what she thought "Shhiii~," the shinx responded and Ozzy looked back at Sylvester. "Of course! Maybe Stella will be a luxio by then to make it even more interesting!" Ozzy couldn't wait for Stella to evolve into a luxio and even then into a luxray. She would be super strong then with immaculate speed. Well worth the wait, even though she was pretty cute just like this...

Sylvester and his pokemon seemed cheerful at the response, his Combusken kicking towards the sky in utter excitement. "Thanks." It reinforced his confidence to hear it from somebody else, even if they didn't have a badge as of yet. Shinx was one of the coolest electric type pokemon, and Sylvester had to admit that Ozzy held that over him. Owning no electric pokemon himself was a disadvantage, though Sylvester did used to have an Electrike. Too bad he traded her for a Swablu, which was weak to electric type pokemon. Same went for Brolaf, his Slowpoke which he had also traded for. 'Probably not the smartest decision I've made so far...'
"Hopefully, yeah. My Combusken is already evolved, so it would only be right." Not to mention fair, though Sylvester hoped that Ozzy could catch some other pokemon as well.
No trainer made it through the pokemon league with just one pokemon. "Hey, you mentioned that you and Stella were training earlier..." Sylvester glanced down towards the feline before shifting his gaze to Ozzy. "What were you up against?" Continuing their way forwards through the trail, they came across a bend in the road, noticing that they were roughly halfway to where they were headed.
Ozzy was glad to see that it had made them both fairly happy and offered a slight wave when he thanked him. "No problem! He seems really well trained, you shouldn't have a problem at all with the first gym." he couldn't lie, flint looked really strong. He knew that in time, Stella would get there. Her typing would put any flying move this bird had down the drain, but he was likely quicker. They would have to do a lot of agility training to make her faster than this bipedal kungfu bird.
"Yeah, we fought a guys meinfoo! She was really strong, we learned a lot from it," it was a tough battle, but he and shinx learned from the experience and they could only do better. Doing worse was not an acceptable option. "Did you do any training?" he asked, also wondering if he had caught any more pokemon.
A breeze tore through the trail then, sending some leaves flying across their path. Stella perked at the sound Of the leaves rolling and charged at then before pouncing on a leaf. She caught one under her two front paws, and as if it was going to run away, she hesitantly opened her paws to check and see if she caught one. Success! Ozzy just laughed at the blue kitten that was a few paces ahead of them. "She really likes to play. She'll chase anything that moves," he chuckled, tucking his hands into the pockets of his light hoodie.

Sylvester and his pokemon seemed cheerful at the response, his Combusken kicking towards the sky in utter excitement. "When Flint was still a Torchic, he behaved just the same. Anything that moved, Flint just had to chase after it. He gave me a rough time with that kind of behavior, but in the end it was worth it. Being my second rare pokemon, I can't wait for him to evolve again." The enthusiasm within Sylvester was likely pretty obvious, though in the moments to come, he felt bad for how much of a braggart him and Flint appeared to be in front of Ozzy and Stella.
When the leaves danced past them on the trail, Combusken quickly sought to using his ember attack, burning all of the leaves exempt the one Stella had managed to pounce upon. Likewise, this put Stella right next to the path his embers followed. Luckily, none of them had managed to actually strike the Shinx, though they came dangerously close. "Flint, cut that out or I will have to place you back inside your pokeball." The bird seemed stubborn at first, though gave out a sigh before standing next to Sylvester as they continued making their way down the trail. "Sorry about that." He spared a stern glance towards Flint before continuing to speak. "Seems like he still goes after just about anything that moves..."
Which wasn't good, as it meant he was still lacking discipline and self-control. "Well, at least we're almost in Route 103." The sign ahead read off that Route 102 ended in another twenty meters. "Well, we're about halfway towards Petalburg."
"She's just a baby, so it's okay for now. As she ages, she'll mature," he watched as flint singed all the leaves but the one Stella had beneath her paws. The embers got close, but Stella didn't seem to mind much. She just leaned back to get a little further away, but she seemed fine otherwise."Your combusken is still kind of young too. When he evolves he should mature a bit more. Hes kind of like a teenager right now, in would guess," he smiled at the bird and then to Sylvester when his eyes moved.
His eyes narrowed at the sign as they approached. "I think that's actually the sign for petalburg. Did we really get through it that fast?" he questioned. Stella abandoned the leaf to run a few paces ahead and check out a pretty rock of which She began to bat around the trail.

"Yeah, hopefully he does mature." The Combusken gave him a judgmental look. "Most every other pokemon of mine behaves, but Flint here seems to be the runt of the liter." The Combusken snorted, casting it's gaze up towards the skies as it closed it's eyes and crossed his arms.
"See what I mean? None of my other pokemon are like that." The Combusken decided to start walking ahead of them. "Even the ones I traded for are more obedient and mature than him." Sylvester noticed now how much closer they were getting to Petalburg City's outskirts.
"Maybe I should get more pokemon from Kanto region. It's always been my favorite, and my Slowpoke seems to be my most mature pokemon." It was the honest truth. "Do you have a favorite region, by any chance?"
Sorry if the post doesn't make sense, I saved over it and had to remake to the best of my knowledge. Being an impulsive writer, I don't feel as though I did a very good job. Gomen. uwu
"I always thought the routes would be much longer than they seem. Or at least feel longer than they actually are. Maybe having a friend to talk to makes it go by faster...," he rambled towards the end of that, though he was glad to call Sylvester a friend at least. "There's many more levels for your pokemon to grow, so I'm sure they'll mature or at least be the best they can be," Ozzy didn't see many faults with pokemon, They were a hundred percent natural with little to phase their personalities, besides their trainers of course.
"It's good to set a high bar for your pokemon," he smiled and watched shinx do her own thing with the rock she found, playing with it all over the trail. He was asked a question then that he really didn't know how to answer. Hed met a lot of pokemon with his grandfather but he didn't think he had a favorite region. Hed never visited the others before, anyway. "Oh, I dunno. I don't really have a favorite, I guess," he frowned a little but he didn't let it get him down. "Is kanto still your favorite now?"

Sylvester thought about it for a moment before giving Ozzy his answer. The trail they were on was growing shorter with every passing moment, and he was getting excited to be in an area more prominent to trainers. "Uhm...hard to say." He knew the reason why Kanto region was so great to him growing up, though now he felt differently about it all. 'Hmmmm.'
"I really liked all the pokemon Kanto had to offer growing up, though now that I've seen how powerful Combusken is, I think it's too hard to pick a favorite." He glanced over towards his pokemon, who was looking at him, though stared back up in the eye with closed eyes. 'Seems like he enjoys being complimented.'
"I still think the pokemon of Kanto region are really cool. They just...I don't know, I grew up wanting a Gastly, and a Slowpoke. I have one of them now, at least." He exhaled a slight sigh.
"Though I think now I am going to focus on training Flint here a lot more. He's probably got the most potential out of all my pokemon. At least, I think so." Finally the Combusken stopped ignoring Sylvester, giving a slight punch to his arm, and though it hurt slightly because Flint did not know his own strength, it made Sylvester happy that his pokemon was back to being normal again.
"Looks like we're almost there." He gazed forward now that they had cornered the bend in the trail, witnessing before him the outskirts of Petalburg City in the distance. "Good to be back."
I think we should hold off on ozzy and sylvester after this thread because he has 2 others threads from r101 that are slow. He's supposed to have leveled shinx up and possibly have more pokemon by now :< "Gastlys really cool, I've always liked Gengar. You have to let me know of you find one so I can go and find one," he got excited for a moment but the feeling passed shortly. He watched shinx play still and smiled, imagining her grown up. "I really want to level Stella up a bunch and get her evolves before my first battle. She'll be stronger and faster then, but ill need more pokemon too," He couldn't progress very far with only a handful of pokemon - he needed a full team.
"I can't wait to train around here too. I like finding other pokemon so far. Everything's so unique," he was glad to be getting closer to the next town and his first hoenn league gym battle. That was still a ways away though, but they would get there. "You should challenge the gym, I'm certain Flint won't have any trouble with that," He smiled over at the combusken and noticed how he seemed happier after what Sylvester said moments ago. Besides, he could learn a lot watching Sylvester have a gym battle, that is if he was allowed to anyway.

Though he was glad that Ozzy felt so good about his chances of defeating the first gym, when he looked over to Flint it seemed to get him riled up again. The orange and yellow bird began to run forward, making it's way into the town well before Sylvester and Ozzy were to catch up. "Looks like he's excited about it." Though Sylvester's tone suggested he may not have shared the enthusiasm. "If your Shinx does evolve, we'll definitely have to battle then."
He glanced over towards the fellow trainer, taking into account what he mentioned about the ghost type pokemon. "If I do manage to find a Gastly, I am not all too sure I will capture it. Unless you'd be interested in a trade?" Of course, Sylvester said that before realizing Ozzy only had one pokemon. He bit his lip before saying anymore.
"I mean...when you have another pokemon to trade. I wouldn't want to take the pokemon you started your adventure with off your hands. Myself? I would never trade my Sylveon. No way, no how." They began to encroach the city limits at this time. "So, you plan on training around here? That's good. Make sure you catch something. I want to see how far your team has come the next time we meet."
"Oh, I just want to know when you see one so I know where to look! But if definitely be down for a trade, too!" he just hoped he didn't get too attached to the pokemon hed want in return. He had always liked gengar, though never actually met one. I saw one in tv once and ever since then, he's always thought that looked cool.
"I definitely want to train a lot around here and then challenge the gym before I move on. I don't want to leave a town really without beating the gym," he grinned a little. "So the next time you'll be seeing me, Stella will be a Luxio and I'll have my first badge! Until then, we're gonna train hard. We can meet again later, yeah?"
