Alright. Route 101. The place where Sigma's travels will truly begin. Time for freedom! Time for adventure! Time for youth!
Anyways, the plan was now to just wander around the area, get a bit introduced with the pokemon Sigma had gotten from Prof. Birch and maybe have some dinner, Sigma was thinking of maybe making some plain old curry and rise. Yeah. That sounds good.
Alright! Time to call out the pokemon! Sigma took out the pokeball that contained the Torchic from his pocket and held it in his hands for a brief moment, staring at it blankly. "..." Sigma stayed silent, as he continued staring at the pokeball. "H-how do I let out the pokemon?" he asked from himself, hands shaking from embarrassment. He wondered if it was the button in the middle. It possibly could be, but what if it isn't? What if it would do something like release the pokemon to the wild. Sigma couldn't know! He doesn't know this stuff!
"..." the young man once again stared at the pokeball, cheeks slightly red and his face showing his dismay. He put the pokeball back to the pocket of his jacket and just stood there. Should he head back to Littleroot Town and go ask for prof Birch for all the stuff about pokeballs and other stuff. No. He can't. He wouldn't look good that way. He'd look quite stupid. What could he do?

You could try pressing the little button at the front... Michi's voice was calm and gentle like a winter's breeze. Nothing like the other gentleman who called out just moments before she did.
Admittedly, she had been standing there for quite some time, chuckling at the trainer's inability to let his Pokemon out of its pokeball. But, she chose to remain silent because she wanted to see just how clueless the stranger was. It was cute, and she had a little time for a short break.
She tucked her hands behind her back and leaned forward as she used her chin to point in the direction of what she was talking about. See, it's right there, plain as day... she said teasingly. She then covered her mouth with one hand to hide her laughter.
Looking over at the other stranger, she smiled and said: You couldn't bear to watch the travesty either, could you?
As Sigma was so deep in his own thoughts, he hadn't noticed when someone had gotten closed to him and now spoke up. The young man quickly reacted and took a quick step away of the person, holding his hands before him as a defensive stance.
Wait. Did she say the middle button? She did. Sigma was sure of it. He saw that the person wasn't a threat and seemed polite enough, so let down his hands and took out the pokeball again, staring at the button in the center.
Then another person came. This one however seemed pretty much the opposite. He was pretty much surrounded by an "aura" of rudeness. "Uhh. Yeah. Kinda had trouble with the pokeball. Never really have used technology and such." he spoke up to the two in a very calm manner, but his face was showing his embarrassment. Sigma's cheeks were once again a bit red and you could see him sweat a bit.
Should he introduce himself and leave the pokeball for later. Yeah. He'll go with that. "Thank you for the advice. I'll leave it for later." Sigma said politely to the girl, nodding his head a bit and putting the pokeball back to his pocket. He then continued reaching out his hand if she wanted to shake hands. "I go by Sigma. It's nice to meet you."

Michi took a small step back so that she could get a good look at both strangers. With a gentle smile on her face, she hummed: My name is Michi. It is a pleasure to make your acquaintance, Sigma... She then curtsied. Turning to the other gentleman, she curtsied again and said: It is a pleasure to make your acquaintance as well, Arthur...
Now that pleasantries were out of the way, Michi had a more relaxed demeanour. She smiled softly at the two before her, but she had no real interest in having deeper conversations with them. But, Michi was a lady, and a lady had to prepare herself to be involved in polite conversation at a moments notice. Plus, Michi needed intel about the two "evil" organizations she'd been hearing rumours about, and these two seemed as good as any. Well, maybe not the one that couldn't open a pokeball... She chuckled at the thought. So, what brings you two here? I assume you're a brand new trainer of Pokemon Sigma? She didn't mean to throw shade, it just came out that way...
Sigma was now completely calm and one wouldn't be able to even tell that he had been embarrassed as his face had turned completely calm, with sharp eyes. These eyes would first look at the guy munching on some chocolates, Arthur apparently and then to the lass standing in front of Sigma. Her name was Michi.
Sigma would keep his eyes locked on the dark skinned female, as she continued speaking, asking the two what they were doing here and assuming that Sigma was a new trainer. She put a bit too much emphasis on the new part though, which slightly irritated Sigma, but his face remained calm. "Yeah. I am new and I just came here to this Route as I am heading towards Oldale Town. Though I was planning to do some training with my pokemon, maybe catch a couple of wild ones, eat and then head to the town." the young man answered in a calm manner, lifting fingers on his left hand as he listed things. After he was done, Sigma turned his gaze to look at the green haired guy, Arthur. "And you?" he asked, giving a subtle tone of hostility in his words addressed towards the young man, enjoying his chocolates.

Hmm... Michi hummed as she tilted her head to the side. I'm picking up on some hostility here. Is this one of those pissing-contest-between-men type of moments? She chuckled at the thought. Of course it is. Men are so ADORABLY simple minded.
Her suspicions were confirmed when Arthur released his Pokemon. Simple minded indeed... she thought as she gazed upon Arthur with judgemental eyes.
Oh, a Heatmor. How adorable... She flashed a smile as she took a few steps back to give the Pokemon some room to stand. I suppose now he's going to challenge Sigma to a battle. Or, maybe he's going to gloat about his Pokemon. Why else would he release it from its pokeball so suddenly?
Sigma looked at Arthur, a bit surprised that he noticed the hostility. At least he wasn't a complete dunce himself. Still, this wasn't really like Sigma to get hostile like that. Even if it wasn't anything big.
The moment when Arthur called out his own pokemon, Sigma couldn't help but feel that it was done both as a jab at him and a challenge for a battle. Alright. If he so wanted, a battle is what he'll get.
Sigma walked away from the chestnut head and the Anteater pokemon to make some distance between them for the battle. As he was far enough, Sigma turned around and once again dug up his pokeball from his pocket, pressed the button in the middle, releasing an orange chick out from it right next to the young man.
The Torchic shook it's body a bit and looked around itself, seeming quite calm. Sigma crouched to be on the same level as his pokemon and spoke up. "Hi there. Sorry to make this so sudden, but we'll have a battle right now. Let's leave introductions for later, okay?" The Torchic looked at it's trainer, thinking for a bit, but then nodded to him. It then proceeded to look around it's surroundings to locate it's opponent. It saw the Heatmor and turned to look at it's trainer, chirping at him to ask if the Heatmor was the opponent. Sigma only nodded and that was enough for the Torchic, as it's braced itself, taking a firm stance and staring down on the Heatmor with confidence.
"I'll give you the first move, Arthur!" Sigma called out to Arthur, waiting for him to respond and make his move.

Oh, a battle. Didn't see that one coming... Michi rolled her eyes as she took a seat by a tree a few steps away from where the two strong menwere about to battle. She rested her hands on her lap and sat upright. Her hair swaying in the cool breeze, she chuckled at the sight of the two men about to exert their dominance. I wonder which of the two will emerge the alpha of the pack...
Hmm. I don't know who to cheer for... she cried out. You both seem so strong that it could really go either way... There was a hint of sarcasm in her voice, not because she didn't think they were strong, but because she wanted to poke fun at the obvious alpha male ritual.
Bringing her hands up to rest her chin in her palms, she leaned forward with a mischievous smirk on her face. Well, let's see if the newbie will take it, or the Pineco-head.
Sigma could clearly hear Michi, but had decided to ignore her for now, as the battle was his priority. Sure it was rude, but hopefully she'll understand. Of course Sigma will apologize afterwards one way or another.
Inferno? A move that powerful right away? Sigma kept it calm, but still was a bit worried about his Torchic's chances.
Knowing that his starter wasn't going to be able to dodge the right away the swirling flames, he yelled out a command. "Keep your stance and try not to get blown away. When the first wave is over, run closer and use Scratch!" The Torchic nodded swiftly and seemed now to stand a lot more sturdier.
The chick took head on the Inferno, obviously taking a good deal of damage,as the flames struck it's small frame, but it was somehow able to keep it's ground and stood there proud. When the first wave of thw inferno had stopped, the Torchic saw it's opportunity and ran up towards the Heatmor swiftly and dodging the second wave of the Inferno with ease this time.
As it was now in it's reach, the Torchic jumped towards the Heatmor legs first with the attempt to use Scratch on it twice.

Oh, strong move... Michi gasped at the sight of Heatmor's inferno attack. Powerful move...she uttered. I guess Heatmor just proved that it's more than just adorable...
She couldn't prevent her coordinator senses from kicking in, however. She leaned back and crossed her legs as she examined the ways in which both Arthur and Sigma's Pokemon moved. She took note of the Pokemon's posture before attacking, the way they looked while attacking, how they looked after attacking, and even how they recovered from being attacked. Neither Pokemon were very graceful. But, I suppose that is to be expected...
She slowly shook her head as she tried to figure out what else it was that the Pokemon lacked. But, her lips quickly curled into a smile when she realized, it wasn't the Pokemon that lacked something, but the trainers that did. Neither trainer seemed to posses that je ne sais quoi that would make the match more entertaining. It also didn't help that they were reusing the same moves over and over again.
After yawning, she rested her hands on her lap once more. Hmm, maybe I should go...
Crap! Sigma let the Heatmor gain distance between the Heatmor. "Run after the Heatmor, Fenghuang!" he yelled and the Torchic ran after. It wasn't fast enough to catch up with it to prevent it from using Inferno once again though and it hit the chick pokemon full force. The Torchic stood there in place, while the Inferno was causing a lot of damage to it.
Knowing about the second wave, Sigma made a commant based on this knowledge. "Keep moving! Try to get at least a bit closer when being hit by it's attack, then between waves jump up in the air!" Fenghuang listened to the command and started to walk towards the Heatmor, ignoring the Inferno causing it damage and pushing it. It was able to get about 2 feet closer and then the first wave ended. Using this chance, the Torchic leaped up in the air, getting several feet above the ground level. Now that it was out of the Inferno, Sigma could see how the air around the Torchic was distorted by the heat released by it's body. This meant that the Torchic's Blaze ability was active.
"Alright! Use Ember from up there! Full force!" Sigma commanded with his hand pointing towards the Heatmor. The Torchic breathed in a huge amount of air, causing it's lungs to fill with it and puff out it's chest. Then the chick blew out a storm of bolts of fire and kept doing so until it was out of air and landed feet first on the ground.

Oh, that Torchic has some guts... Torchic's willingness to walk through Heatmor's inferno was impressive. Michi examined Arthur's face, making note of his cocky expression. I bet it's a front. He's probably SO surprised that Torchic is still standing right now... She chuckled at the thought, as she adjusted her position to make herself more comfortable.
I guess that means I was rooting for the Torchic? I'm okay with that. The little chick sure seemed like the underdog the entire match. She looked over at Sigma and gave a motherly, worried expression. She then dropped her focus to the little fire-type. Poor thing. It will all be over soon...
Still, using ember on a Pokemon that potentially had flash fire, that took some guts. Even if Torchic's blaze activated, Michi would have never risked it -- definitely not, at this point in the match. Michi gave a subtle nod of approval. Sigma's tactic might not have been the best. But, a REAL man takes risks with a confident face. With that thought, she stood up and prepared herself to walk over to the two battlers.
Fenghuang barely was able to keep itself conscious after hit by the Heatmor's Tackle and then finally went down after it's Inferno hit. The Torchic laid on the ground and Sigma kept up a calm face, returning Fenghuang back to it's pokeball. "You did your best. Thank you for that." he spoke up to his pokemon in a comforting and quiet tone and put the capsule back to his jacket's pcoket.
The young man then looked at his opponent, walking up to him and once he was close to him, he spoke up. "Congratulations for your victory." he said in a monotone voice, thinking for the reason he had lost in the end. It wasn't because of Arthur being a superior trainer or anything and it was obvious. The only reason the Heatmor had won in the end was because of the difference in the move sets of both sides. Heatmor had Inferno, which easily trumped Fenghuang's Ember and Scratch.
Sigma knew that thinking about this was pointless though and that a loss is a loss no matter what. But if Arthur ends up battling with Sigma again some day, he'll be ready. Next time will end on Sigma's victory.
As the congrats was done now, Sigma turned to Michi with an apologetic look. He walked up to her then and bowed his head a bit. "I'm very sorry for that. It was incredibly rude to just engage in battle and leave you there." he said sincerely, feeling that this apology was required.

Well fought good sir... Michi smiled at Sigma as she applauded him for his efforts. No need to apologise, she said with a warm smile. I understand how things go when the battler's spirit takes over. Though she really did think it rude that the two ignored her for the entirety of the match, she didn't think it necessary to kick the man after his crushing defeat.
I must say, though, that was quite the show of power. Her attention now on Arthur who didn't really seem all too humble about his victory. I suspect you must have put it quite a bit of training with your Heatmor for it to learn such a powerful move like inferno. Nodding her head slightly in agreement of her own statement, she continued: Otherwise, one might have to call it dumb luck if you just stumbled upon your Heatmor with the attack already known. She chuckled as she ushered away the thought by flicking her wrist.
She brought her hands to her side as she peried her attention between the two men. I'm especially elated by the fact that I got to see two fire-type Pokemon battle, that I've never seen before. She ended her statement by tucking her hands behind her back.
