[EVENT NPC] Aqua Mischief

Dmitri was walking across the street, hoping to take the time to visit the fossil research building when he noticed a shady figure near the gym's entrance. He was in the middle of something important, it seemed, but more pressingly he was garbed in a sailor's attire. There's no port here in Rustboro, is there? He decided to go take a closer look.

"Hey there, how's it hanging?" Truly curious, as he wandered over to the man he noticed a less than innocent task being carried out; graffiti. He was vandalizing the property, with some Aqua logo he'd seen maybe once before during a Ranger's briefing after the gala. That no good bastard!

"Hey! Just what do you think you're doing!?" He isntinctively reached for Broski's pokeball, expecting a struggle with the guy. Maybe if I subude him, I'll get a neat reward. That wasn't likely if the Rangers were anything like that Ven guy he met at the gala, whom gave Andrea much to worry about.

So... what's it going to be?

While the two knuckleheads were babbling about the graffiti being art or whether the quality of it, Dmitri flipped his phone open and punched in speed dial. He was letting Usa know the situation, but moreso this was to alert the Rangers and their chain of command. Leaving the phone on an open line, he hoped it could pick up parts of the conversation. He took a step closer, interjecting their petty dispute.

"Why don't you just toss out a pokemon and shut up? Plucking Alakazam from his belt, he tapped the pokeball and it enlarged. Nudging the button, a red flash washed over them, and left behind an impressive specimen. He could tap into their minds, and abruptly invaded the two allied strangers he'd been fated to team with. Try to consider he's an Aqua Grunt, and cover my weakness, if you would be so kind. One was Sylvester, whom he'd already come to know for his powerful Honedge which was there even now. Perhaps his growth would surprise them.

The other being a stranger, Houdini felt ashamed for intruding but there was a pressing matter at stake. Should the Aqua Grunt send out a Dark-type, he needed some coverage. Perhaps a Fighting-type just to be sure. Houdini gave pause, then turned his attention to the Grunt. Your technique needs work; but this is of little consequence. Send out your pokemon, or I will be forced to engage you directly. It wasn't a threat meant to be taken lightly, and he raised his sterling silver spoons threateningly, as if they ought to intimidate the grunt with sheer confidence.

Houdini is standing by!

Smeargle will copy my attacks, Dmitri. We have to avoid that at all costs. Houdini broadened his spectrum of telepathy to involve the other two, to focus their attacks on the proper targets. If they didn't it could be devastating for them in the long run. Sylvester, stranger; Picasso is our priority. He cannot be allowed to steal our moves. He raised his spoons defensively, before preparing to assault the sketching pokemon.

'Houdini, use Confusion!' Alakazam's spoons seemed to glow with psychic power, before discharging an attack on Smeargle's mind. It would disorient him, flashing bright lights across its vision in a sudden burst of psychic overload. Alakazam could channel this attack from two separate spoons, allowing him to blast Picasso once more with Confusion in a follow-up attack.

Hurry, faint him before he sketches our moves! It would require Picasso to be slower than they could hope, but perhaps they had the advantage by outnumbering it. Dmitri was beginning to wonder if this would someday come back to haunt him. He remained entirely quiet, abusing telepathy.

Alakazam could do little to avoid Mightyena's arrival, for he was deftly averting the damage Honedge was about to dish out from Ink's Foul Play. That was way too close. Assuming Honedge dodged the first Foul Play he would have escaped scot-free, unfazed by the opponent's Inkay. But that was when the Mightyena came out on the field, and Houdini instinctively cowered backwards. Another Dark-type?! Houdini held his spoons in front of him, preparing for the worst of the attack's force.

Except it couldn't reach him, and instead he was left with a different ultimatum. To finish the job on Smeargle and defeat them once and for all before they could sketch or retreat. Houdini needed the experience, and by the looks of it, so did these other pokemon. 'Dazzling Gleam.' Houdini raised his spoons, composing himself before sending glinting light from these special spoons, casting the radiance at Smeargle and Inkay. 'Again!' The other spoon loosed a similar attack, searing a scar from the light into Dmitri's retina.

Is it... over? Houdini gazed across at the other pokemon friend or foe, assessing the situation and trying to figure out whether any of them weren't left standing. How much longer can this go on? Dmitri was looking between his accomplices, ignoring the grunt. His words were nothing but temptation, luring them to believe his intentions weren't criminal. As long as he wore the uniform, as far as Dmitri was concerned, he'd chosen his side.
